CHEWIE !! NO !!

"No one is ever really gone"
-Luke Skywalker

Sad news indeed.

A bit excessive in parts, but definitely more actual dueling and force push/pull brings it up to the level of other fights in the series.

How do you know they weren't doing that already and the camera only happened to catch them during lulls in the fight?

No jump flips? Inexcusable.

Wow, that was pretty amazing.

Disregard.

This Modern Trailer For 'The Empire Strikes Back' Will Make You Want To See It Again

That was neat. I loved that they put Boba Fett in there like he'd be an important character instead of the tiny amount of screen time he actually has (see: Phasma).

That's neat and really showcases how differently trailers are cut these days using the same material.

For comparison, here's the original theatrical trailer:

The only thing I think this modern trailer didn't get right is the inclusion of Kenobi as a Force ghost. That was the first time a Force ghost had appeared in the series, and fans would have lost their minds over the trailer giving away that Kenobi was in the film as a ghost. That would get pilloried as a spoiler.

So apparently Vader was played by Stephen Oyoung, who portrayed Mister Negative in the PS4 Spider-Man game.

It's official: next Star Wars movies to come from Game of Thrones' showrunners. I guess for many people that Star Wars hiatus is now at least nine years long.

I was going to complain about the modern re-imaging of the trailer leaning a bit too heavily on shots where we only know the significance because we've seen the film (Han/Leia's I love you/I know) but the original trailer was apparently even worse about that. Totally different emphasis too: original was about the swashbucking adventure, fan modern was about Luke's journey and central conflict. Speaks to how we remember them now versus then.

Movie. Singular.

Also, pretty crappy timing to announce this considering how D&D are getting slagged for the sh*te writing this season on GoT.

"Obi-Wan is here; the Force is with him."

I guess they didn’t learn anything from Solo.

I think they learned that a tv series would be better than a movie.

And they need content for their streaming service.

Ewan McGregor reprising his role is great to me because they'll get another chance to make his character better. The prequels really killed my interest in Obi-Wan. He was just ... there. Granted those movies were all about Anakin, and I think they suffered for it.

I have not watched the Clone Wars show though. I'm aware he has a fairly large role and have to believe the show will likely be from this period.

Ewan McGregor was probably the best thing in the prequels.

Obi Wan became my favorite character in the Star Wars universe because of the Clone Wars cartoon.

Sassy Obi-Wan is the best Obi-Wan.

And yet his coolest on screen moment of anything ever was in Rebels.

To be fair, that's one of the coolest moments for any Star Wars character ever.
