That would be dreamy. Oh, the poring I would do!

They're pretty inexpensive, at least the pocket ones. I'm kind of tempted to pick up a couple anyway just for the pictures, charts, damage numbers. Maybe not worth it.

Anyone knows a good store to get those in Japan? I might be tempted to pick one up.

Play Asia has them. I was also looking at CDJapan, where they are cheaper. I've not ordered from there before, I don't think.

There are at least four of the smaller pocket sized ones.

At the recent Monster Hunter Festa 16 they handed out these artbooks with sketches on how they developed the flagship monsters. As seen on siliconera.

Oh hey this is a thread I need to watch.

I ended out mostly on HBG then CB for 4U. For X I am thinking of trying some of the weapons I have typically hated, namely Long Sword and Dual Blades. Knowing me though, I'll probably just end up on Great Sword again.

Stay away from my Dual Blades. That way I can continue to suck with them and no one will know.

Or, we can all go dual blades and spin our way to victory! Hi-yaaa!

Dual blades are fun. They require a pretty specific endgame set(or even midgame) in order to be really effective, and I have no idea how you use demon mode in the higher ranks.

But being a meat grinder is fun.

Well I used them in in 4 but as status and normally had unlimited stamina because of Dyni. So I pretty much just learned to land as many hits as possible rather than do as much damage. It worked well but if I do it this time it would be for damage.

Oh god that's right, stamina juice is needed. Ugh. I hated that about bow too.

Maybe I'll just try LS this time around.

I'm so excited for this game! I was a GS in MH4U but everything looks so exciting and jazzy i just don't know. I have a soft spot for SnS as well.

I put mushromancer on one of my bow sets so I could get unlimited stamina more easily. I didn't find it necessary all the time though. Of course, I wasn't trying to solo things in record times or anything.

Long sword is definitely on my list this time around, as well as returning to lance, etc. At the high levels I'll get back to gunning too.

Wish the release imminent. I feel in the mood for MH again.

Yeah, same. I've been playing single player 4u a bit on a new file.

I think I'm going to play bowgun for MHG.

I've also been playing some 4U again recently, but I'd prefer to put the time into the new game. Still, there's plenty I haven't tried so maybe it doesn't make a difference.

I jumped into some bowgunning myself over the weekend, with mediocre results. I think I was trying a tough fight though (C. Fatalis). I think I get the basics, but especially with LBG it looks like you need a good array of specialized weapons to target monsters.

Because Hunting Horn is of course the best.

As far as I know, the purpose of DB is to do as much damage to the fleshy underparts of the monsters. You're not there to necessarily break off parts(though you can cut off tails), or to get head knockouts. You're there to get into the fleshy bits and cut it until the monsters keel over.

Yeah, although with para blades I was simply trying to get the most attacks to any part I could. DB's are often on the feet for trips as far as Dyni told me. I often dismiss most things Dyni tells me unless it is MH or DS and this happens to be MH.

I've changed my main weapon to switch axe, but I agree, Hammer is the best.

If anyone's interested, it sounds like there's a MH Festa tournament of some kind this weekend. gaijinhunter has been posting about it.

Capcom is streaming it. I don't think I've really seen one of these before. 11am Sunday (I think this is... 7pm Saturday for west coast).

*It's been a few weeks

Here's a new video showcasing what they're calling "Prowler Mode", where you can play as the Felyne:

Saw this earlier this week at Yodobashi in Akihabara, and I was tempted to buy it:

This thing was quite thick.

Why. not. ?

I figured there was no point since I would not be able to read it. But now that I'm back home, I kinda regret not getting it.

just look at the pictures, right?

yeah, ok, probably a good call not to pick up extra stuff...

This will for sure be a day one purchase for me. Can't wait to hop in and play with you all. Any more Hammerbros?

My favorite weapon, but I try to avoid it when playing multiplayer, because I suck and I keep hitting the other players.

I'm devoted to the hammer. I've been trying to broaden my horizons, but I still gravitate back to hammer. Hunting Horn is pretty fun too.

I never really tried the Hunting Horn. It should appeal to me though, as I love playing Bards in various MMORPGS. Is it anything at all like that? Someone give me the review of HH that I need to give it a swing, pun intended.
