Ghostbusters Catch-All (does not just have to be about the new movie)

Listened to it.

Arm Cannon's is definitely better.

After reading the thread title change, all I can think is:

The Fall Out Boy version sounds way better at home with a proper stereo and not through headphones. I still don't like the music, wish they had went a different way.

It sounds like a bunch of old people said "We need the old song, but we gotta do it all new and hip so it's the old song but not, so the current kids will love it."

Which, honestly, kind of summarizes how every trailer has begun to look to me.

I've read the song sounds better in movie.

Headphones is a proper speaker setup!!

I saw Fallout Boy and I just can't bring myself to listen to it. Looking forward to the movie but I need to find a way to change the song back to the original (or even Bobby Brown).

Well I guess we're gonna have to take control

Spirit, some people hear it, some people fear it. Spirit, some people just won't go near it.

We've got spirit, yes we do...

This opens tomorrow over here, so I've booked myself a ticket. Some people are giving it glowing reviews, others not so much so... we'll see!

Yeah still early at RT, only ~30 reviews, but 69% right now.

NYC Goodjers - Someone go check out Ghostbusters: Dimension so I can live vicariously through you!

Up to 76% now. So funny, before the reviews came out, the haters were like "Review embargo" and "Once the reviews come out this film will be buried!"

Now it is "All positive reviews are shills or SJWs" hehe

It's almost like brigading a trailer on Youtube is completely meaningless.

What's a SWJ?

I think it was meant to be SJW (Social Justice Warrior)

Social Welfare Justicar.

Seen it. Lol funny. Will expand on this later when off my phone!

SJW's, the lot of them.

Polygon are pretty much spot on I think.

It was really really funny. Laughed out loud a LOT. In fairness - the actual plot is wafer thin and it's definitely more of a comedy film than the originals but I had a blast with it. Also the ghost effects...are probably going to be a love/hate thing. Personally I liked that there was a film with a bit of frickin' COLOUR in it for once, and not just smeared with some green/blue washed out filters over everything to make it look gritty.

I can also guarantee that it's going to really, REALLY piss off the sexist indignant tantruming manchildren quite a bit... Especially since the main villain of the piece is basically one of them.

also the cameos with the original crew are a bit on the cringy/cheesy side but I can live with them. Wouldn't have hurt for them not to be in there though IMO. Also has one of the worst piece of product placement I've seen in a film for a while *munches on Pringles*

In general though : huge sigh of relief it didn't turn out to be a disaster

I don't care about spoilers, but I'm now going to spend the entire time watching the movie trying to figure out what this means.

hopefully that's not a spoiler. But, let's just say that ....

Spoiler:

He exhibits some of the characteristics of a certain subset of white males who project their inferiority complexes and imagined persecutions out on everyone else whilst thinking that they are intellectually superior, especially to women, and wants to burn down the world because everyone else doesn't recognise how brilliant he is.

That's exactly what I figured his role was when I saw the recent trailers.

Oh actually...I take back what I said about the cameos in one case...

Spoiler:

Sigourney Weaver's one in the end credit skits. That one was fun

So, you're telling me that Paul Feig made an enjoyable big budget comedy movie starring Melissa McCarthy? Who could have guessed that? It's not like Bridesmaids and Spy are two of the better big budget comedies of the last ten, or so, years or anything.

I haven't seen either of those (not really my genres of choice) but I might have to rectify that after seeing this.

I will say that if you're put off by things that would be considered "raunchy", I would suggest passing on them. They're both R-rated whereas Ghostbusters is PG-13 (don't know what those translate to you the UK ratings).

Unless I'm mistaken, they're Blood Pudding and Boot of the Lorrie, respectively.
