NFL 2016: Offseason: Pre-Draft / St. Louis Trolling

The rest of the league should really assist him in getting Oregon back together. Partly to watch it fail and partly as a curiosity. Chip Kelly the personnel manager is one of the strangest things I've ever seen in the NFL.

RG3 released. No word if he's being replaced on the depth chart by BB-8 yet.

Subtle Milkman troll post.

There's zero chance that Carolina will use a first-round pick on a WR.

Even better, Zierlein thinks a I-AA QB will be the second overall pick?! I mean, it's the Browns, but c'mon.

Seriously, though, what's your take on Wentz, Legion?

I approve of that mock draft. Joey Bosa? Sure!

As someone who has watched North Dakota at least three times (when they played UNI) I am looking forward to drafting the QB of North Dakota. I would have rather not spent the Number 2 Overall pick on him, but those are the breaks.

Exactly, Lance Zierlein is totally trolling you. No way Bosa lasts that long unless he really is a chump (which I hear whispers about).

Bortles went #3 with less film.

Incomplete at this time, but I understand why he's getting the attention he's getting. He dominated his level of play. He ended up in the FCS because he was a very late bloomer; he was a 5'8" 125lb pipsqueak as a college freshman, now he's 6'5" and 230. Prototypical size, good if not dazzling arm, kind of that Aaron Rodgers/Alex Smith sort of white QB mobility where you can see him rank in the top 5-8 in QB rushing, in that second tier beneath their faster, darker brethren).

None of this was enough until he went to the Senior Bowl and did against draft prospects the same thing he did against his FCS fodder. He hit pretty much all his throws (albeit with some drops that hurt his stats, though not his evaluation). He had a good game but more importantly he had a great week of practice, standing out ahead of all of the FBS QBs there (Goff and Lynch were not there, as they were juniors).

I still have more video to watch on him, but right now he is my #2 QB behind Goff. I have both of them way ahead of Paxton Lynch, who I am not yet very high on (albeit for some of the same reasons I was down on Bortles - bad footwork hurting the rest of his game. Though with Bortles it was this oddly bunny-hoppy thing he got coached out of, while Lynch is just sloppy and all over the place).

I am still undecided how highly I rank Goff and Wentz though, even with them slotted #1 and #2 at their position. Neither jumps out at me as a #1 overall kind of guy. I think I like them both outside of the top 5. Right now I am good with the idea of SF taking Goff at #7, I think his value is right about there, and I would probably put Wentz at 10-15 right now, but this is all up to change as I watch more video.

You get me. I had typed out a comment to go with the link and then I deleted it and just let the link stand on its own.

Ravens sign long snapper Morgan Cox to a new long-term deal.

Because you know damn well Justin Tucker runs that place.

Well, Flacco isn't great in the red zone, so...

That and we all lived through many sh*tty years where Matt Stover made football worth watching.

Stover was my year-after-year go-to fantasy football kicker. Wasn't going to be #1 but was always going to fare well and he was always there for the taking in the end rounds.

At this point, it's probably safe to assume that every one of your posts is a subtle Milkman troll post. Except for the overtly not-subtle troll posts, I guess.

And here I didn't even really comment on Josh Freeman getting his fat ass cut.

But hey, there's a new spring/summer football league for him to go play in, the 8-team NAFL (which they promise will grow to 16 teams).

EDIT: Hey Gumbie, the NAFL combine/draft is coming up at the end of the month in Nashville. You wanna go check it out and give us the skinny?

Check it out? Hell I'm ready for a try out

Sounds completelty legit, I can see nothing wrong with the future of this league as opposed to every other failed league.

The NAFL - North American Football League - is America’s premier professional spring football league. We are excited about your interest in the opportunity of being selected to one of the team’s roster spots for our inaugural 2016 season.

It's the premier professional spring football league, unlike all those other professional spring football leagues. It's the cream of the crop.

Spoiler:

Current Crop Total = 1 BUT STILL THE CREAM

All this time, I have just been a plant waiting to spam the boards with NAFL shop links.

Eagles sending Murray to the Titans and hopefully Alonso and Maxwell to the Dolphins.. yay!! Though honestly theres a good chance 2 of those 3 guys are better than they appeared with the Eagles and might actually do well in better systems.

On local sports talk the Fast Lane were doing a "Would You Rather?" segment when the question, "Would you rather play QB for the Browns or a prison football team?" team came up.

Brad Thompson finally said, "Remember how fun it was making fun of the the Factory of Sadness, and now we don't have a team."

Demarco Murray seems like the perfect fit for running the ball out of a shotgun spread offense where he doesn't get a head start and can really get his own tough yards because he's playing behind a bad offensive line.

You know, the exact opposite of Dallas, where he was actually successful.

Murray to the Titans is interesting, god knows Bishop Sankey isn't doing anything, ever. Though at first I thought the trade was for Mathews, which almost makes more sense.

Be interesting to see what kind of draft picks Philly is getting in return. They have no 2nd round pick, per the Sam Bradford trade, but they already have an extra 3rd (from trading their 2015 4th round pick), and extra 5th (Brandon Boykin to the Steelers) and an extra 7th (Matt Barkley to the Cardinals).

If they are getting picks back from trading all three of those guys, they'll be sitting on a 49er-ish pick mountain.

Murray's contract is being reworked and the rumor is they only gave up a late pick (maybe a 6th?) Not my first choice (Doug Martin) but it's a massive upgrade over anything we have on the roster now.

Not many teams have Dallas level offensive lines.. at least when Murray was there.. granted he was in a worst possible case scenario last year but I wouldn't be high on him..plus he is injury prone... I'm not sorry to see him go.. especially in today's modern NFL. Just look at Deion Lewis in NE.. he always had some flashes in Philly.. but in the Patriots system he was really starting to look good before he got hurt.

Now if only they could get our of Riley Cooper's contract, eh?

Anyone want Charles Johnson? Panthers cut him last week.

He's a perfectly serviceable DE who has been waaaaay overpaid for the past few seasons so he probably won't break your team's bank.

Also, there's probably a 50-50 chance that Eric Weddle will be in Carolina black-and-blue next season.

You mean the offense that was implemented by the guy we fired last year?

Mularky's offense is perfect for a back like Murray, he loves a good down hill runner that has one cut and goes. Don't forget who the OC was in Atlanta when Michael Turner was pounding the rock 20+ times a game to take pressure off of a young Matt Ryan. Also expect to see Marcus under center a lot of this year.

Megatron is retiring, according to the Detroit Lions, who will no doubt throw him into deep space and come to regret the incredible coincidence of him bumping into Unicron and coming back as Galvatron.

I am super bummed by this. I kept hoping it wouldn't happen.

Ugh, Kelechi Osemele to Oakland is apparently a lock, as much as it can be without colluding or whatever.

Calvin Johnson's retirement announcement is here. Not doing a press conference.
