Well, this snuck up on me.
What were you looking forward to that you're going to buy?
The curation/discovery queue is really cool! They're telling you a choose-your-own adventure story, and the games you get shown depend on your choices!
Brilliant!
I'm probably not going to buy anything in this sale due to the truly embarrassing proportions of my game pile, but that is probably the best Steam Sale thread title ever.
I've got things in my cart I don't need HELP ME.
Picked up Train Sim 16 for $6.50 (-85%).
I always wait for the annual updates to discount to the $5 range before pulling the trigger. Now I've got 4 more rail lines and a bunch of new engines to add to my collection. Looking forward to going through the new steam engine in-game help system (not the tutorial), as they're typically a tough nut to crack.
No way I'm buying anything on this sale after picking up 2 full-price (well, they were on sale at GMG) new games this month. I will enjoy watching the shenanigans, though.
SquareCells just went to $2, yoink!
Umihara Kawase Trilogy just reappeared on steam, after disappearing when the publisher went bankrupt, with the classic game collection being on steam a whole month before being removed. I might just buy it now and be done with it.
That, and for some reason The Crew Complete Edition is sitting in my cart, and that is really, really, really annoying me.
Ugh, and I forgot about HELLDIVERS Complete from the beginning of the week, but that seems like a game that would be better played in a group than by yourself, so I might hold off on that.
This sale demonstrates why I'm not buying Xcom this week. I just picked up Fallout 4 two months ago and it's already 33 percent off. I'm sure there will be some spring break sale where the games that just came out are on big discount.
I think I will end up getting Dark Souls and probably Crusader Kings 2. $5 for Dark Souls and $10 for CS2 seems about as low as those games will ever be and at this point I'm not going to be hooking up the PS3 just to play Dark Souls again. Might as well have it easily available when I am in the mood for it.

Not to mention, its 22% off at GreenManGaming right now in the VIP section, so slightly over $46
Chose "Swim" for my first part of the Meta Game, it took me to a page of water related games.
First game listed: Subnautica. On my wishlist, on sale for $15...
Steam... you're really trying my resolve here.
I've got things in my cart I don't need HELP ME.
I thought you were limiting your purchases this year, so went nuts with the winter sale?
Helping?
The categories are an effective format, for me anyway. I bought very little during the holiday sale but I have 15 items in my cart after going through the meta game. I'll cull that later but my wallet's still gonna take a bit of a hit.
Yea, thank you.

Yup. Unless there's a big multiplayer component to a game I can wait for it to go on sale.
I'll probably pick up GalCiv III since it's 2/3 off.
Yea, thank you.
Sorry?

Same here, only I added to my wishlist.
Bought Subnautica and a 99 cent card game. Will debate the others.

Any new acheivements? Because if not I may just work on my EA backlog or Diablo character and avoid Steam.
I expect the mobile app will finally push an "An item on your Steam wishlist is on sale!" notification around the time of the Lantern Festival.

I already got one that had five games in it.
I don't fully understand what triggers a sale alert email. Sometimes I get an email, sometimes I don't but there's a sale anyway.
My only guess is load on their servers, or flakiness with however the mobile app gets its data? I didn't get a push notification for any of my wishlist games until the last day of the Winter sale; then I recently put Firewatch on my wishlist and got a notification within an hour (because it's on pre-purchase discount); and nothing so far for the half-dozen games on my wishlist that are discounted for the New Year sale.
It's not like I don't fire up Steam and/or look at the website and this forum every day; but it's weird how the wishlist alerts aren't reliable.
Well this is a lot more than the Super Bowl weekend sale people were expecting.
I'll probably pick up Dominions 4- I've had my eye on it for a while but I'm not sure enough I'll like it to spend $35. It's 50% off now and has been 75% off in the past, but I'm probably not going to keep putting it off just to save eight bucks.
Maybe CK2 Conclave as well, though I'm put off a bit by all the complaining about the free content patch changes, so I may wait on that.
As far as the sale, I fell for Shadowrun Returns Director's Cut cause....I can't help myself. I could be convinced to buy just about anything though it's a toss up if I find time to play it after staring at the pile confused and bewildered.
I just pre-ordered Firewatch a few days ago, so there's no way I'm going to buy yet another game that might stand in the way of playing it when it lands next week.
I've been good about nt buying a lot of games the next few sales but Mad Max is 66% off! Anyone play and enjoy it?

Get that. Get it now!

I really enjoyed it on the PS4!
I don't really have nostalgia for old dos games, since I didn't play that many and had a 286, then a 486.
And usually I don't grok the nostalgia of others, but holy sh*t dudes

Raptor: Call of the Shadows (1994 edition-i.e. the one on Steam that is NOT put out by DotEmu)
I don't know if I actually had the shareware version or I just didn't live long enough, but, whoa am I looking forward to playing and maybe even beating this.
It's a very good shooter.
