Telltale Batman Catch-All

Pages

If they do as well as they did with Tales from the Borderlands, I'll be a very happy bat.

It's really amazing what Telltale is able to pull these days.

Ok, I love TTG and all, but I think I reached maximum Batman fatigue a good while ago. Kinda looks like it may be an origin story too, which is, eh... Been there, done that.

Maybe they'll surprise me though.

Missing the perfect opportunity to do super campy sixties batman, I feel.

Sold!

Also, where can I get T-shirts?

I'm still amazed DC managed to snipe Marvel with this TTG collaboration. Marvel's was announced earlier this year and is slated for 2017.

Another origin story will be really been there done that but I'll still play it, I love the TT games. I hope they get Kevin Conroy for the voice.

Also I'm still holding out hope for a TT Star Trek game. Get the Deep Space Nine cast back together, or even TNG or Voyager. Trek would make for a great TT game.

Um...

Yes!

From the sound of it on TrueAchievements, where I found the trailer, it's not so much an origin story as it is navigating the life of adult Bruce Wayne.

I wonder if Arkham Knight doing okay with an M rating gave the developers confidence to make this. As far as I know, every TTG since The Walking Dead (besides Minecraft) has been aimed at adults. I'm curious to see if this will be the same.

Oh wow, yes please!

As for Batman - well, if it weren´t Telltale, I would probably skip it, but at this point they could put out "Sack of Crap: A Telltale Games Series" and I´d throw money at them.

Press release I found over at Blues News. The juicy part:

“This iteration of Batman will give fans a first-hand opportunity to dive deeper into the complex life and mind of Bruce Wayne, the duality of his own identity, and the struggle of responsibility in saving a city overcome with corruption and villainy.”

Is it New Year's yet?

To be perfectly honest, I'd be a lot more excited if this were a game about Harley Quinn or someone along those lines. There's a lot more opportunity for interesting social interactions from that angle than with Mr. Stoic himself.

Wrong. All criticism is obviously done at behest of the joker.

Maybe they'll give you an option on how to portray Batman/Bruce in social interactions. Do you treat the criminal like you're Adam West or do you go full Christian Bale on 'em?

Will it have my dream scenario, where a party guest catches Bruce putting on his eye black, and he has to choose between being thought of as an eccentric billionaire who does blackface or exposing his secret identity?

Think for a moment: have you ever played a superhero game where you played as the secret identity for more than say, ten minutes*? Sounds like Telltale's doing something in that regard that no one's tried before.

* = Other than the glitch in the Atari 2600 Superman game.

A detail or three:

Telltale CEO Ken Bruner wrote:

Our Batman series is looking fantastic. I think it might become one of the best things we’ve ever done. I can’t go into much detail, but the Batman team is amazing and they are really on top of it. It’s not like any other Batman game out there. This game really explores all aspects of Batman, not just the the ‘fighting in the suit’ side of him. There’s a lot of subplots to explore and some really amazing choices that have a big impact on the story being told. I really think it might be the peak of the mountain for us so far.

Less fighting, more dealing with life as Bruce Wayne sounds great to me. I think it would be great if we get a frustrating day at the office segment where we want to bat-out and wreck faces, but have to remain completely calm in our office-y/meeting persona.

I just want a moment where Bruce Wayne's at someones apartment and ends up mouthing to himself, "I'm Batman. I'm Batman."

Edit: The game to be showed off at the SXSW festival on March 18th.

Aaaand...details from SXSW.

On the side of good, players can expect to see characters such as Alfred Pennyworth, Vicki Vale, James Gordon, and Renee Montoya. Some characters will have a "deeply personal relationship" with Bruce Wayne, according to Telltale. As for the villains, the studio is keeping mum on the game's rogues' gallery for now.

Very very exciting. More Telltale stuff is always good in my book. I love the idea of really focusing on Bruce and his choices. Thats something that is only ever barely scratched at in the comics.

Casting news and first screenshots. Like the Batsuit, the Batmobile kind of looks like the one from the last movie only more car-looking, and for some reason I'm getting a Sterling Archer vibe from Bruce.

By the by, they had auditions in LA, and my friend auditioned for Bruce Wayne.

Reeeeaaaaalllly looking forward to this. Hoping for a good detective story with this format.
