Albion Online

New MMO in spirit of UO with way more crafting.

Albion Online

We have a guild going come join and help with the guild house
I have referral https://albiononline.com/?ref=5F5HXQ... for those that are interested.

I take it the being pvp flagged is mandatory? If so then unfortunately I'd expect it to quickly devolve into another gankfest. It is interesting that so many of the founder items are "breakable and lootable", I foresee much QQ.

I bought in a while ago and while I like the base game when one of the largest guilds is named "Black c*cks" I have a hard time being interested in the game.

You have safe zones.

Limited pvp zones where you have to flag to go hostile takes about 1min to flag and notifies the zone that X hostiles are present. On death you only drop some coin.

Open pvp zones with full drops.

I expect the game to end up with similar player base as Eve.

I have no interest in buying a founder's pack for this game but would like to see what it is like. Are there any keys floating around for it? Contests or something maybe? I did google quickly to see but didn't find anything current (or real)

I will give it a look once it comes out but not sure why I would want to buy a bunch of goodies I would loose.

I am not against loosing gear just against loosing gear I paid $100 for.

I would recommend anyone who wants to invest money in AO to check this recent thread from MMORPG reddit; IMO very good independent source - you will find both good and bad there, and I'd say it describes current (Beta) state of the game quite well.

Looks like they are making some changes.

Game is now buy to play and closed beta is extended for 6 more months.

I'm in the "take all the time needed to make it good" camp, thou there is couple angry folks on the other side of the fence!?

Anyone playing this, now that it's in final beta? I jumped in a few days ago and enjoyed it once I cancelled general chat.

Would be nice if we had enough for a GWJ guild.

I still own it and haven't fired it up in forever. I probably should...

I played enough in the previous beta to know that while I will enjoy it casually, I'm not interested in playing until after they've performed the final wipe.

It looks really interesting but people have stated the combat is bland.
Is this still the case? Has it gotten better?

Does anyone have new feedback on this game? It looks interesting, but I wanted more community feedback.

Good systems, nice art style.

For me though like i said in another thread. BDO spoiled me for MMO graphics and combat. Entire time playing i was getting annoyed with the top down perspective.

I have it, but I'll probably wait for the iOS version, and play it while on the road.

Hey - just stumbled on this one with the recent RPS article. Anyone playing? Anyone recommend?

It JUST went live. So a good time to jump in.

It's actually a lot of fun with a lot of cool systems. For me i bailed because the old school top down view is just too damn annoying. I have a founders pack so may at some point jump in and look around to see what's changed since i last logged in.

Interesting. It's too bad the Fortnite EA is going live this week - in my head at least, they're occupying the same mental load (even though they're vastly different). I may have to watch some Let's Plays to decide

We have a guild and alliance with 400 people.
If anyone is interested let me know we are based out of Thetford.

That's definitely pushing me in the "buy" direction...

You should know the harvesting in this game is a serious grind.
But you don't have to do it.

As in the EVE Online style (mildly entertaining and able to do while listening to a podcast, etc) or as in mind-numbing and awful? I ask because my tolerance for grind has gone up over the years, provided it gives me the headspace to multitask.

You run around clicking on nodes as they spawn. Pretty laid back and multitasking works.
Once you get into PVP zones that will change.

So basically forced PVP? I'm a carebear, I like my blue servers

You can't get passed tier 5 out of 8 tiers without getting into PVP zones.
This game is heavily focused on PVP.

It seems crafted right out of the mold of Eve Online, the game and all its parts (like the economy) revolve around PvP. I just got done playing a long stint of Eve so I'll be giving Albion a pass, but I'm interested to see if it morphs into a similar game.

Glad to see there's a contingent of Albion players here! I just picked it up last week, and have been super excited that they're filling an unmet need (in my mind) of a truly sandbox social dynamics based fantasy MMO that does have Eve level spreadsheets.

What's the guild Slytin? I'm looking for people to play with and who better than GWJ folks? What's best process for me to get in, just whisper you in game? What's your Albion name, same?

I am still looking to go back on Ubuntu, and saw that it runs on Ubuntu... Kinda more interested.

It is only top down, or first/third person view as well ?

Top down.

Our guild is in Thetford

Been taking a break due to server loads and queue times. We determined that you can’t really participate in this game unless you get into a big guild.
Which the guild we have will never be. I can invite you to the guild to get access to our guild island and all the tier 4/5 vendors, but I really recommend trying get into a major guild.

I went into the black zone to see what it was like and saw nothing but zergs running around.
