Did you have some cool controllers?

I had some cool controllers. Post your controllers.

Suncom F-15 Talon and SFS Throttle HOTAS:

IMAGE(http://www.thommos.com/wiki/images/e/e6/Suncomhotas.jpg)

These were a low-cost (compared to Thrustmaster) flight sim stick/throttle that were a spot-on replica of the F-15 controls. Came out at a time when I was working at Eglin AFB on the F-15 test fleet, and being able to fly Jane's F-15 with these sticks was amazing.

I still have them. Unfortunately Suncom went out of business and these are gameport-only, so they're useless without some sort of USB conversion mod. There are a few tutorials out there to do it, I may give it a shot some day.

I'm pretty sure I threw it away years ago, because the game sucked pretty bad IMO.

Got some heavy usage out of the Saitek Cyborg Evo, starting with BF2. I still have it and it's still very usable in modern games.

This is my favorite controller. I loved finally being able to play wirelessly, and I'm one of the crazy people who liked the GCN controller more than the Dualshock 2 and the Xbox Duke.

I had literally the coolest controller:

Had the mouse too. The fan conked out years ago, but my dad was still using it up to last year.

I had that same one. Got it from Radioshack.

This is still my favorite controller. I love the big A button in the center and the rest of the buttons surrounding it. The feel of the left stick is better than Xbox/DualShock IMO though the C stick was admittedly weird.

i had the Tron glowing Wi controller for a bit.

I had one of these....I have always regretted selling it.

My first pc gamepad:

My all time fave joystick:

My PS2 controller was wireless before the PS3 made it cool. #HipsterRant

And the best. Does anyone remember the Atari keypad? It was a keypad. For games!!!

That keypad was awesome for... Star Cruisers?

Close. Star Raiders!

My first real joystick. The little things on the left are for rudder and throttle. This was what got me through the Wing Commander games.

You knew it was coming. Like almost everything else electronic I had in my preteens, I took it apart to see how it worked. After that it didn't.

For C64. We only had one game they could be used with. Something about submarines.

Hated this thing.

Love this thread idea btw.

Ohhh, I love controllers! My favorites have, oddly, all been from Microsoft. For example, I actually got one of these to test it with Elite. It's not bad in first person shooters either!

This was the first PC gamepad I ever owned, came with Motocross Madness. I still have it too, though it's been replaced with a 360 pad.

Finally, I've discovered this joystick, the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2, recently, and it's become my all-time favorite stick. I love it so much I've purchased three of them, one for use and two backups.

Only reason I didn't get one of those sooner is that I was slaved to a couple of Saitek rigs for about fifteen years.

Anyway, yay controllers!

IMAGE(http://segaretro.org/images/thumb/a/a8/Dreamcast_Fishing_Controller_02.jpg/300px-Dreamcast_Fishing_Controller_02.jpg)

This one's HUUUUGE!
Oh! A Big One!

Man, watching this game play now, it just looks so bizarre. And the weird cadence of the announcer takes me back. "Go to. Next area"

God, so much drunk fishing was fished.

Had one of these for my Playstation. Made playing Gran Turismo so much better:

These things were great. I had one for the PS2 and one for the Xbox, then bought another PS2 one when it died. I'm pretty sure God of War 2 killed it.

Kotaku repost

I was thinking about the Superpad 64 recently...

Not strictly a controller, more of an ambient mood generator. For your underpants.

My workmate is currently playing Winston in overwatch with Bananas. Does that count?

https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/c...
and
http://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-ban...
(NSFW warning: he swears a bit)

He does a bunch of this kind of stuff, including rocket league with a guitar hero controller, and WoW with dancepads etc.

I had the superpad 64 plus from that picture. It allowed me to get way higher scores on Star Fox 64.

The nerf wireless PS2 controller was a favorite of mine for a long while.

Good Atari ST times...

And a homemade aluminium/wood dance pad
