NFL 2015: Week 6

Came in here to SMH at the Hawk talk. As soon as I read Zappa's first comment I knew you guys could smell blood in the water. Ach.

I will say that being 2-4 takes a lot of pressure off watching. I actually had way more fun watching the CAR game than any of the others. When the only acceptable outcome is a SB berth, and vengeance over the Pats, each game takes on way too much significance. When I'm watching just to enjoy what happens (my SEA football life 1984-2012) I'm a lot happier and easier to be around.

I would also note that with the exception of MIN, PIT and 2x ARI, SEA faces losing teams the rest of the way. Don't be shocked if they're there at the end.

And bring back the 80's era unis as alt jerseys!

STOP BEING REASONABLE!!!

when its all said and done and Seattle makes the playoffs I'll be going back to the Detroit game and shaking my fist.

As a realistic football fan I don't want to play Seattle. I don't care if its in Lambeau. I want all the overachieving teams that are not actually that good please. I could careless if this goes down as the year the Packers win the Super Bowl vs the easiest slate of playoff teams. My general stress and well being needs it.

edit:

Also...

2015 NFL Predictions

Most bookies have Seattle at 15:1 now which is implied 6.5%. I'd still take Seattle at 15:1 over Andy Dalton at 11:1.

So just as an update I realized I was coming off as a whiny b and that wasn't my intention. On Friday my son got diagnosed with ADD which as someone who experienced it in grade school I fully recognize what a hell ride I'm in for. I guess what I'm saying is I was really hoping for some kind of win in my life. Anyhow I know this is TLDR and will now head over to the parents and depression thread.

Fred Jackson reportedly wrecks his car in reported drag race with Marshawn Lynch, who in turn reportedly drove off as teammates like Richard Sherman helped Jackson. So, about that whole being there so you don't get fined thing...

Sometimes you have to not be there so you don't get fined.

Jackson drives a Corvette? What is this, MLS?

And jowner, I can do unreasonable!

Should have seen/heard me on that Lions game when Wilson fumbled the TD. Yikes. Good thing Little Guy already was in bed!

Also: HAWKS YO! 2012 4 LYFE! PETE CARROLL! USC! I MEAN 12th MAN! Who's Dave Kreig?

The Packers just won the 2010 season. You need jack and sh*t

It's cool, man. We all know you're really just a whiny b deep down inside.

Spoiler:

Obv kidding in case it wasn't obvious.

Sorry to hear about your son, we're already getting the put him on meds treatment for the kid. He's 5. And smart. So he doesn't want to sit in his seat. He'll adjust. It's been a few weeks of Kindergarten, isn't it a touch too soon to be talking about ADD?

I didn't realize that Jamie Collins was such a freak until he jumped that line to block that extra point. Listed at 250 lbs too.

I wasn't diagnosed until I was around 14 and couldn't stay in my seat. Realistically, it probably didn't effect my grades until around then.

For those interested there's a big ADD discussion going on over in the parenting thread. Getting back to football I'm just going to keep it to good game no matter what happens in the Thursday matchup and ignore the insanity that has happened in the past few years.

Edit - and Lynch, Jackson and Coleman getting in stupid ass crashes in less than a week - wtf!?!

Went to Football Outsiders and was pleasantly surprised to see SEA at 9th in DVOA.

This team is coming back this year.

And the Ravens are 13th. There's always some hope.

Unless you're a Niners fan. All signs point to bad.

Colts punter Pat McAfee, in an appearance on the Bob and Tom radio show (and transcribed here by Nate Scott of USA Today), has broken down everything the Colts were thinking going into that disastrous trick play against New England Sunday night, what it was supposed to do, and why it all went so wrong.

The short answer: the Colts actually had about a half-dozen options to run out of that formation, but none of them involved actually snapping the ball unless the Patriots were completely out of formation (and obviously, they weren't). The problem is, Clayton Geathers had been the man practicing as the center on that play all week, and he left the game with an injury in the second quarter. So Griff Whalen, who had never practiced the play and didn't know the audibles, ended up lining up at center and snapping the ball when he clearly wasn't supposed to. That's on Chuck Pagano for putting Whalen in that situation.

This also doesn't explain why all the Colts near the sideline were lined up off the line and out of position. But at least this explains what the Colts were trying to do.

Haha. Knock it off you guys and read this: A story about how Jay Cutler ended up in Denver, as written by the guy who drafted him.

A lot of good stuff here, including a bit on Jake Plummer (remember him?) getting run out of Denver, the (really lousy) 2006 draft and Cutler's meeting with new Denver coach Josh McDaniels.

Awesome.

I f-ing hate Josh McDaniels and this is the first time I've heard what really went on in that meeting, even if it's slightly exaggerated. What a jackass. Clearly McDaniels wanted to force Cutler out.

Sounds like there's a McDaniels-->Cutler = Schiano-->Freeman thing here. He's not MY guy, so screw him.

Shockingly, both were somehow not particularly good coaches.
