NFL 2015: Week 6

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans: Jacksonville Jaguars
Baltimore Ravens at San Francisco 49ers: Baltimore Ravens
Kansas City Chiefs at Minnesota Vikings: Minnesota Vikings
Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions: Detroit Lions
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles: New York Giants

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans: Houston Texans
Baltimore Ravens at San Francisco 49ers: Baltimore Ravens
Kansas City Chiefs at Minnesota Vikings: Kansas City Chiefs
Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions: Detroit Lions
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles: New York Giants

Betting against my Eagles seemed to work last week, so I guess I'll try it again. Stupid superstition.

So Chargers have a general wide appeal but their own fans are kind of ho-hum? (16 games not aired in San Diego)

Love how it's just "Washington".

Presumably related to the fact that they're AFC West, so they wind up getting broadcast in any markets that deal with the Broncos or Chiefs. Lot of empty space in between KC and San Diego, so in terms of square miles, lots of footage.

Yep. No need to print that word.

That's truly a steaming pile of games to choose from. I basically threw darts at all of them.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans: Jacksonville Jaguars
Jumping on the Bortles train. Has to be better than Mallet/Hoyer, right?

Baltimore Ravens at San Francisco 49ers: Baltimore Ravens
Only taking the Ravens because the 9ers failed me last weekend and [nothing to see here...]

Kansas City Chiefs at Minnesota Vikings: Minnesota Vikings
I don't know that KC gets past the loss of Charles

Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions: Detroit Lions
Someone apparently has to win this game.

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles: New York Giants
Because when I pick against them, they win, and I would prefer the Eagles to gain a game on the Cowboys.

Only taking the Ravens because the 9ers failed me last weekend and allowed Mike Vick to beat them. Mike. Vick.

huh?

Ummmm... my kid did it. I promise. Since Mike Vick did not play against the 9ers.

Tough picks this week. Who is a bigger dumpster fire this week?

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans: No QB they can count on for Texas = Jacksonville Jaguars
Baltimore Ravens at San Francisco 49ers: The Browns beat the Ravens? = San Francisco 49ers
Kansas City Chiefs at Minnesota Vikings: Lost Jamal Charles? = Minnesota Vikings
Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions: Surely Stafford doesn't want to be benched again... = Detroit Lions
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles: Hoping to get this one wrong, but I doubt it = New York Giants

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans
Baltimore Ravens at San Francisco 49ers
Kansas City Chiefs at Minnesota Vikings
Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles

All road teams this week. That scares me.

That little extra bit of coverage in Texas of Jaguars games was because I was living there.

Found an error on the Pick ems site:

It's Houston at Jacksonville, not Jacksonville at Houston

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars: Jacksonville Jaguars
Baltimore Ravens at San Francisco 49ers: San Francisco 49ers
Kansas City Chiefs at Minnesota Vikings: Minnesota Vikings
Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions: Detroit Lions
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles: Philadelphia Eagles

Go home teams!

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans: Jacksonville Jaguars - They have to win when I pick them at some point right? .. right?
Baltimore Ravens at San Francisco 49ers: Baltimore Ravens - the 49ers just look horrible
Kansas City Chiefs at Minnesota Vikings: Minnesota Vikings - the vikes seem like the smart pick here even though I would rather the chiefs win
Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions: Detroit Lions - still genetically incapable of picking chicago
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles: New York Giants - i flipped a coin

Hmm. In theory, I should be able to fix that and not destroy everyone's picks, but since I am leaving town for the weekend as soon as I get off work, we may just have to live with it this week.

The ref who screwed up the fumble call in the Seahawks/Lions game is being punished by being moved to from the Indy/NE game to Tennessee/Miami. Wtf is this sh*t? So now the NFL is deciding what games are important and which aren't?

NE/Indy is a prime time game on Sunday night, so in this case, yes it was already decided that Tenn/Mia wouldn't be as important to the NFL as NE/Indy.

That's not the point. I know it's more important, you know it's more important, the networks know it's more important, but since when does the NFL show that some teams aren't as important as others? Why not just suspend the guy instead of "Oh hey you f*cked up lets just move you to a game we think is less important"

Ooh, wow yeah, that changes my pick. Thanks for finding that, unless Houston wins; then it will be your fault, of course.

Updated picks!
Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans: Jacksonville Jaguars
Baltimore Ravens at San Francisco 49ers: San Francisco 49ers
Kansas City Chiefs at Minnesota Vikings: Minnesota Vikings
Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions: Chicago Bears
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles: Philadelphia Eagles

Texans
Baltimore
Minnesota
Detroit
Philadelphia

Dunno what it is about the picks site on mobile but can't get to the selection part.

but Russell Wilson will thread the ball through 8 Panthers to Jevon Kearse

Hard enough to thread 8 defenders, but hitting in stride a 39-year-old defensive end who has been retired for 5 years is mad skills. Wilson must be feeding Jevon lots of Recovery Water.

:D

*sigh*

I almost wrote Doug Baldwin, but it always seems to be Jermaine Kearse who kills the Panthers.

Whatever. I hate all those guys this week. Jermaine, Jevon, Frank, Jimmy Graham. All of 'em. I hope the Kingdome Qwest Field Century Link falls into a sinkhole Saturday afternoon sometime.

Frank? Damn, digging deep.

Is Jimmy Graham still playing football?

Could've fooled me.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans: Jacksonville Jaguars - Another "Which turd slides down the bowl fastest" contest. I actually think Houston is the worst team in the league(I'm a Lions fan, which explains my pick for game # 4) and Bortles is somehow putting up top-10 numbers in some categories. Hoyer is Hoyer and Deandre Hopkins still looks like he Lamar Odom'd his face off the night before last so I've gotta go with Bortles and his merry band of receivers. Damn...

Baltimore Ravens at San Francisco 49ers: Baltimore Ravens - Holy crap, take my turd analogy from game # 1 and feed it steroids and corn. Hope Baltimore doesn't burn me on this one.

Kansas City Chiefs at Minnesota Vikings: Minnesota Vikings - Chiefs are dead in the water without Jamall Charles. Viking are on the up and up, though they are underperforming by most people's expectations. Still, I'll take 'em.

Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions: Detroit Lions - I've been a Detroit fan my whole life. The last few months are essentially a microcosm of Detroit Lion fandom. Get teased, flashes of brilliance, f*ck the dog good and hard, let the ref slip you a stink finger or two. Let this be a testment tot how bad Chicago (and KC and Oakland) is. Best thing about being a Lions fan? They'll burn me hard for picking them here.

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles: Philadelphia Eagles - Eli is having himself a season but the Eagles are slowly gaining some footing. This game is a great confidence builder for them and is there any team that is historically better at restoring an ailing franchises confidence then a decent looking NYG? They seem to always lose when they have things won on paper.

Gotta shake off the Kearse Curse. Or Kurse. Or whatever it was.

It's a real issue. And the explanations coming from Seahawks HQ aren't cutting it.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans: Jacksonville Jaguars
Baltimore Ravens at San Francisco 49ers: San Francisco 49ers
Kansas City Chiefs at Minnesota Vikings: Minnesota Vikings
Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions: Chicago Bears
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles: New York Giants
