Microsoft's Display Dock turns your Windows phone into a mini PC
I called this years ago, before tablets became a thing.
I predicted that sometime in the future your mobile device would just be your work computer and you could just put it into a dock similar to what we do with laptops. Then you'd have a full-size monitor, mouse, and keyboard to work with.
When tablets came out people told me I was wrong but I always thought tablets were just a stopgap on the way to this.
For most office workers who do just spreadsheets, documents, and the occasional powerpoint, the modern mobile device is plenty powerful for their everyday jobs. Very few office functions require more computing power then what most people carry around in their pockets.
If Microsoft had just attempted this a few years earlier they wouldn't be getting their lunch eaten by Apple and Google. Thanks, Steve Ballmer!
Cranks unite!! Maybe not as long you have been but I have also been waiting for this to happen. I have been watching Continuum developments and will be replacing my trusty Lumia 1520 with the 950XL and the docking station. Or getting the Book to replace my Surface. And maybe the new Band. Wait ... how many kidneys do we need?
