Sweet! I blew the dust off my copy and am ready to go!!

Love the bingo cage video!

Guess I'm out unfortunately, no time to game at home :(.

Did you ever finish VC2? You could always go with that so you could participate in any strategy discussion and remark on how it's different.

I have both games and have not finished either. :(

I finished VC a year or two ago, so I was considering that as well, although I figure we might want to do that one at some point as a team, so I might as well just wait. I should be able to participate in the thread for VC, since it is relatively fresh in my memory. (I still have nightmares about chapter 14. Well, almost.)

In the end, I decided to look at the list I made on the first page and removed Koudelka (PS1) from my shelves and will start playing that shortly (since no one else picked it and very few people probably own this anyway).

Just caught the video, I loved the music cues! Thumbs up!

Valkyria Chronicles wasn't one of my top 5 backlog entries, but it is in my backlog. Just pulled it out of my PS3 game pile and I'll get right on it in the next week or two after I finish Wasteland 2!

I'm going to give this one a miss, rather than add another game to my pile.. still, I'll probably check in on the thread from time to time, and hopefully will join in next quarter

Fantastic! Valkyria Chronicles happens to already be in my Steam backlog

I've been meaning to play this for ages, really excited about this. Any thoughts on which version is better, Steam or PS3? I have both.

I'm probably out, as I've actually just completed this about 2 months ago! Very good game though, will be interesting to see what everyone thinks of it, I wrote a little review in the thread for it.

Hmm maybe I should try and finally finish it myself, it would be good to use the PS3 again.

Sorry to lose you Chris! It looks like 10 hours a month or so at this point - I'm hoping you find a way to fit that in if possible, but if not, please stick around for next quarter and feel free to poke your head in!

Also, updated OP, new thread link is here! https://www.gamerswithjobs.com/node/...

I'll see how it goes but the last time I turned on my PS3 was in August where I spent an hour cleaning up the HDD so automatic updates would start working again. My daughter is just too demanding of my attention these days :).

I actually have a disc copy, put about 7-8 hours into it back in the day. Remember the voice acting (Japanese) being atrocious but the strategy was interesting. Wish they'd ported it to Vita.

Same here. Nothing against VC but I've got enough games currently on the plate or in the near future that I really don't have room for lower priority purchase right now.

I've got 2 versions - PS3, and was gifted a Steam copy. I'll probably play the PC version. Almost done with another couple of items on my pile - Tomb Raider and Shadowrun Returns (DMS)

I don't have it, so I ordered a copy on Amazon. My PC really isn't functional for any length of time, but the PS3 is alive and well.

I may play through VC2 since handheld gaming is a bit easier for me to manage, but if not, I look forward to possibly joining you all next quarter.

Oh this is interesting.

Top 5 backlog:
Tales of Graces f
Tales of Xillia
Eternal Sonata
Final Fantasy X HD
Final Fantasy X-2 HD

Partially played, need to finish:
Ni No Kuni
Valkyria Chronicles
Nier (ok I beat the first game but need to do NG+ or b-game or whatever)
Xenoblade Chronicles
SMT IV
Bravely Default
Devil Survivor Overclocked
Persona 4
Final Fantasy Tactics

Hm. I think I have some RPG Maker games on Steam, some other misc stuff.

I played and beat Valkyria back when it originally came out in 2009/2010. I might pick it up again to try and max rank the missions and play through it again. I really enjoyed it when I originally played it. Sad they made the second one so grindy.

I devised an evil plan. I picked up Bloodborne and used my Demon's Souls skills to intrigue the SO. I have gained access to the main gaming PC for Valkyria Cronicles in exchange for PS4 time. Everyone is happy. Children will hopefully not starve.

Oh no! It's a game I own AND is on my backlog list!

...well ok then, but I suspect it'll be slow progress given the amount of homework I have to do...

Good thing we've got 3 months.

Hey Stele - thanks for the interest! The voting for the top 5 is closed as of right now, until we begin this whole shebang again next quarter. Feel free to play along with Valkyria though!

So is there a thread for this then yet? I happen to have this game and I've never played it so i was hoping to get in. Thanks!

Anyone interested in a parallel clear of VC2?

I just assumed this was the long-running thread, so tagging myself in. It's not like I will buy a new title before January... (ok maybe if there's a Persona Q sale).

Valkyria quarterly thread

I could be convinced relatively easily.

Sounds like there's interest. I can make a thread for it, if that's cool with everyone.

Edit: Here it is! Winter Alternate thread.

I won't be participating this quarter but just wanted to pop in and say I think this is a great idea.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG IT'S MINARCHIST!!!

Seriously, how are you? I've missed seeing you around. Keep meaning to email, but... Life.

Hi everyone! I've made some sizable updates to the OP and the vote post. Please have a look to familiarize yourself with how I'm going to be running this next quarter.

Thanks!

Sounds good to me.

And I do plan to continue the Gaiden group each quarter, as well. We'll most likely do a handheld game when the main group does a home console or PC game, and vice versa. But rather than doing a vote, I'll just try to pick something that compliments the main group and doesn't cannibalize from future picks.

Cool! And with that, I suppose I will commit myself to keep up with both, haha.
