Hey, a Forza game! Time to awaken the Game King with some sort of setup question like, "Is this game any good?" or, "What makes the Forza series different from other racing games, like Skylanders: Superchargers? Then I'll just step back and watch the copy flow.

We editors have our tricks.

You might expect me, as an editor, to go straight for Typoman, in which players solve puzzles and defeat threats by swapping out letters in words to modify their environment and creatures within said environment. Or maybe you know that I'm a hippie who loves Indie Darlings™, so you expect me to go for the Wii U revamp of Year Walk. I'm glad to see you're thinking about this.

What you didn't know is that I have an until-now secret plan to play videogame soccer on YouTube in order to become the next John Green, so it's Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 for me. That's right, a mainstream console sequel. If you have a hard time accepting that, tell yourself I'm playing what amounts to Pro Evo's Europa Universalis against Rocket League's Civilization. That should hold the dissonance at bay.

Chris "C" Cesarano

I'm tempted to give the nod to Skylanders: SuperChargers completely on the basis that I would get to play as Bowser in a platformer action game. Or at least, a platformer action game where he's not treated as an inept joke, but instead an awesome force of power and devastation. Turns out I have a soft spot for the big reptile.

Unfortunately, from what I can gather, the only version of the game I'd be able to get with Bowser would be the 3DS version, and I'd much rather play this on the WiiU.

So instead, my pick of the week goes to Destiny: The Taken King, as they've made a lot of changes to the game that should kill some of my complaints that arose around the time House of Wolves released earlier this year. It is quite possible that Destiny releases could be the twice-annual seasonal equivalent of Marvel film releases.

I originally hail from Buffalo, New York. That means I know two things about sports: how to root for an objectively terrible team, and that the best way to watch the Sabres lose is by pulling Hockey Night In Canada down on the old rabbit ears. I also know the right way to watch hockey, which is similar to how a lion watches a herd of zebras, but with beer. So I guess that's three things.

NHL 16 gets my nod this week. If I ever get to it, I'll turn the difficulty way down and pit my old home team against Dallas. Because I'm not a bitter person who holds grudges. Not at all.

Who's John Green?

Huh, 3DS getting a Senran Kagura game. I wonder how sanitized it is.

I don't see anything on this list that I'm the least bit excited for.

If I absolutely HAD to buy something this week, I might get the Overruled! game on PS4 that isn't listed here, or maybe "Shooter Space Shot" PS1 classic, also not listed. I'm not so sure about either of those though.

Flip answer: You're supposed to ask "Who the eff is Hank?"

Useful answer: A vloger who collaborates with his brother. They got their start in a project called "Brotherhood 2.0" wherein they had no textual communication for a year and corresponded primarily through public YouTube videos. They can be witty, and they talk fast (or they learned to), so they garnered a following, members of whom are referred to as Nerd Fighters. They still carry on some of the Brotherhood 2.0 traditions on YouTube, and have created an educational series called "Crash Course", which probably taught me more than High School did.

John Green is also an author, and likes to write novels for teens that have really depressing plots. If you like to feel emotionally victimized by a paperback, "The Fault In Our Stars" is probably the sort of thing you'd like.

Super Mario Maker is so good that our household has already forgotten that Disney Infinity 3.0 (aka Star Wars Infinity) exists, which puts the new Skylanders game really far back on the list of things we care about. I never expected this.

Nothing for me, really, but... TY the Tasmanian Tiger is still a thing? Wow. Looks like they've jumped into the 2D HD animated bandwagon. A good bandwagon to ride, IMO. Wonder how that will turn out.

It isn't. And you may be surprised to learn that the series started (and continues to be primarily focused on) the 3DS.

That's a lot of Disgaea for $40.

If it had all the DLC included it might be worth it.

It doesn't? What a stupid decision. Maybe it's about disc space but I doubt it.

Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows update is out this week. I think that'll be getting my attention.

I say Shooter Space Shot, as I played that one, and still have the disc..I think.

That's a pretty good summary.

Here's the YouTube playlist of John Green talking while playing FIFA.

I wasn't sure how helpful I was supposed to be, so I hedged my bets.

I was going to link to the appreciation thread I'd restarted (after Shawn deleted the first one on accident), but my remake doesn't really provide any explanation or context.
