I think there are only three choices: Red, Blue, Yellow. So if we want green, half of us will have to pick blue and the other half yellow. :)

That would make sense, given that green IS NOT A PRIMARY COLOR, SKYLAR! #GreenForGaffes #GreenGoofUps #Skylarhawk

Damn, even with today only being a soft launch the servers are unusable right now.

Since i was interested in trying to catch things without getting up and telling work I need to go catch them all, and being unceremoniously fired. I used "incense" which lasts for 30 min, and brings them to me.

My wife was trying to get me to go for more walks.

Well if there is no Green, then I am all for Red.

Confirmed there is no team green (interesting link, they try to predict which colors will be chosen based on a few market factors. Spoiler: too much blue). I blame Skylarhawk for this terrible and avoidable tragedy of disorganized chaos.

I'm good for Red, it does seem to be the primary accent color on GWJ.

I'm good with Red.

With regards to the color debacle, I take full responsibility and furthermore

My wife and I just went to the local PokeStop at 9 pm. Running around a library's empty parking lot is a surprising amount of fun. Got some PokeBalls and caught a Pidgey, Spearow and Rattata!

Nice! Congrats! I'm installing now.

I've got 10 now, and I haven't left home. Our home is infested.

Only caught two in the house so far! I'm going to try not to open it before bed... Do I really want to know if Rattatas are watching us sleep?

Yellow, Red, Blue... I vote Yellow for Zapdos.

Finally made it back to my college campus. There were a lot of people out walking around. I also caught several while driving home when I was at stoplights. And same when I found a poke'stop at a light. I'm up to 12 caught so far, and any weaker doubles have been transferred to the professor. I'm excited what I'm going to see walking to work tomorrow.

I went out with my daughter tonight for a quick check of things and we ended up staying out more than an hour. We each got to Level 7 and caught 50+ Pokemon.

Once you get to Level 5 you can fight at gyms. We had no idea what we were doing at the first two gyms we came to, which were already claimed by two different people. But we found an unclaimed gym near our house and my daughter took that one over. We didn't realize until after we got home that since we're both Red that I could have added my Pokemon to the gym to help increase its defenses.

We both had much more fun than I expected. I really like how they've put together some of the mechanics. I do wonder how quickly I'll run out of things like potions and Pokeballs, though, and feel the need to either grind Pokestops for them or pony up with some cash.

But thumbs up for now. We're excited to take some walks tomorrow and check out different areas. All we have near where we live are bugs and birds.

Ekans, Growlithe, Pidgey, and Rattata

Apparently Pokemon don't like my office. All I've found is a Bulbasaur hiding in a toilet stall.

I'm afgncaap in-game; all of my usual names were already taken. I'll sign up for a team once we have a consensus.

i've already found a zubat. I have solved this game.

I've had to reboot my phone now because the app gets stuck in AR mode and won't respond to anything (though the camera still is active and the pokemon is still jumping around). Anyone else having this problem?

I'm in Caught a Caterpie outside the (real) gym this morning.

How is this game with in game purchases? Is it harsh to the point where you're forced to buy stuff to progress or anything? Too early to tell?

It's pretty early to know. I'm guessing Pokeballs will be the first pay-barrier. If you use the app enough, it looks like there are a ton of PokeSpots to get extra balls, so even that might be mitigated. I saw one thing in the store to let you store extra Pokemon, that might be the first "mandatory" purchase. I figure 10 dollars is a reasonable assumption of what the app should cost me, but I tend to be a bit of a fanatic.

I was initially disappointed that I was able to download the app, catch a Pokemon in my house, and then not have a darn thing to do since it was the middle of the evening and I couldn't leave. That's not a stellar first impression.

But I caught another Pokemon on my way in to work and discovered that my workplace is actually a gym in-game, so I'll at least maybe have somewhat regular interactions available.

I have Squirtle as my starter, Zubat CP 10, Rattata CP 10 and caught a Growlithe CP 53 in the parking lot this morning. I am still level 2, but I will wander the Ingress hotspots around town at lunch and see if they are indeed the same.

Is the catching game just the pokeball thing or do you have to fight some of the more powerful pokemon? If you don't, is fighting only a gym thing?

I've gotten stuck in multiple places in the app - I think the server is getting slammed and the app gets stuck waiting to ping it. I caught a Pidgey on the bus this morning but never got past the pokeball image, little loading icon in corner kept spinning like it was trying to reach the server.

After already using my incense. I am jealous to hear people being able to just find them in their homes, while i sit here at the office, with it on for hours and nothing... Looks like I will have to get out there and exercise. This is going to be the worst game ever.

If you don't have time to walk just open the app and activate incense. I've gotten an eevee and a ratticate from it so far.

I had issues last night of when the ar starts and the camera comes on my phone hanging for a while, then a white screen instead of actual camera use.I had to turn it off. When you are in the AR mode you can get out of that with a little button on the upper right to turn AR off. See if that helps.

Yeah, I agree with the pretty early to know part. It looks like there could be an increasing demand for consumables as you level up, things like Pokeballs, potions, and revives. Also, it looks like there will be a need for more storage space, both for Pokemon and for consumables.

I've noticed that as I'm leveling up that it's taking more pokeballs to catch Pokemon. In the beginning I could pretty much catch everything in one toss, but when you start running into higher level Pokemon they can do things like whack the ball away, or move around so you miss more. I went through 10 on one Pokemon this morning on the way to work. I had 100 last night, now I'm down to under 30.

Whether the Pokestops, which there appear to be a lot of, are enough to feed the demand probably depends a lot on playstyle, etc.

So far though, I don't see anything you're blocked from doing unless you pay money.

Just downloaded this. My work place is a pokemart, which is what decided me, since at least I'll have decent access to those. There is another pokemart thingy a two minute walk away. While I made a quick stop to it I caught a Tentacruel, which is pretty sweet. I started with a Squirtle though, so I'm a bit water-heavy right now.

I've got two co-workers playing this, but it looks like we can only fight gyms, not each other so far.

I've had server demand issues where I couldn't access the game, and several lock ups that I fixed by restarting the app.

I wonder if the color on the map indicates Pokemon activity. There are several areas that appear blueish in color, where you can see leaves pop up out now and then. Our house is on an area like that, and 1-4 Pokemon seem to pop up every few minutes. At work, however, the map is a lighter green and there are no rustling leaves. I've seen no Pokemon yet while here.

I found the game is much easier to play with the AR turned off. It doesn't drain the battery nearly as much and I'm able to still capture Poke'mon while continuously moving.

I'm toying with joining yellow team. Any consensus on what the goojers are thinking?

Just downloaded this last night. I caught two right away around my house. Got to work and found out that on my work campus there is a training center. I'm not a hardcore fan, but I know enough of the Pokemon world to get around fine. Looking forward to seeing how this app comes along.
