Modded Minecraft Multiplayer Server

My concern is that the server might well track whether you've received it or not already. It might not allow a second to bind to you. But, we can try.

I've got a railroad track assembly line going.

Sent this to Moggy just now:

"Moggy, you are the owner of the server we're running modded right now aren't we? I like it but I'd like to cut a copy to run myself on my pc. There's a little mod I'd like to add. I'll ask the other members of the group, and if anyone objects we can remove their stuff. "

Self explanatory, but if you all would like to remove the installation you've made on the server, then I can do it or we can have you do it on a multiplayer copy we've made. That'll be slightly complicated. I don't really think you will, but it's good to ask.

I'm a little confused. Are you asking for a copy of the world?

I can do that, provided nobody objects.

You can download the server files from Curse and install it SP no problem.

Yes.

I can? I wondered about that. Also, whether the server will let me ftp stuff out.

You probably only need the client files to run successfully in SP mode. The server files are a subset of the client files.

I'll need to shut the server down to make the backup. As long as everyone else is OK with me doing this, I'll take care of this sometime over the next few days.

It's fine with me.

Is this the Lotta Terracotta mod, Mastrude?

It is.

First, sorry for my long absence just as we got the new version. I got covid, and it sucked. I am getting better, but still coughing a fair bit. The other symptoms are mostly abated now.

Mastrude, we can try adding the Lotta Terracotta mod into the main release, if you don't want to get all forked up. I'm sure we'll be updating Create in the coming weeks at some point. If others express an interest in LT, I'm happy to add it. It will increase pack load time (more texture maps over more shapes), but doesn't look like it adds in any weird ticking checks, so it should be pretty lightweight.

I'm not sure how to add a train to my island. I think I might need to expand.

I'm very sorry to hear about your bout with Covid.

I'd certainly prefer to be playing with you all, so that's good. Can we give this change a higher priority than "a couple of weeks"? I've already waited that long. A minor version change. Maybe others have little tweaks they'd like? Maybe someone else could make the change, if you're still ill?

Has anyone tried elevators for horizontal travel? They're alleged to work, but I haven't succeeded with them.

I haven't tried.

You realize we already have elevators in the pack?

What do you mean by horizontal travel with elevators?

Oddrune wrote:

There are settings for the elevator blocks that appear to allow that. Right-click on an elevator block to see them.

Please add trash cans, solid and fluid, to my request.

I'm getting a little concerned about the modpack's size already. Lucy has been choosing vanilla over the modded pack because it makes her laptop work too hard.

The lotta terracotta mod would just be adding additional textures to already existing block shapes. It means a longer load time, but not more stress per tick for either server of client.

A trash can mod adds more functional blocks. You can accomplish the same effect by dumping items into lava, cactus, an IE crusher or the AE singularity thingy whose name I forget. As for liquids, what liquid are you getting that you need to void?

Please do whatever you prefer. I'm finding playing rather frustrating, and will try another pack for a while.

I realize you guys are more about the modded, but the vanilla server is pretty lively these days. Fun things to build with. Froggies. Froglights.

And, there's a new big monster to kill.

Yeah I need to get back in and finish my base.

I've not been playing for a while but decided to check in on the server today. Noticed from the logs that it's been shutting down at 6am every morning. Not sure why - cron job gone bad, probably. By the absence of comments here, I assume that I'm not the only person who hasn't logged on for a while

So, unless I hear otherwise, I'm going to shut down the instance.

If anyone wants a copy of the world let me know and I'll put up an archive for downloading.

Yeah, that's totally fair.

Maybe over the holidays we can put together a cooperative map using this pack or another light one? I was thinking it might be fun to have everyone build on a single amplified island.

We could do it Taskmaster style.

"Choose a color theme. Construct the best base on your part of the island with your chosen color theme. You have four weeks. Your time starts now!"

(I discovered Taskmaster during the quarantine and it quickly became one of my favorite shows ever.)

Co-op sounds good, but I feel like I explored this pack pretty fully.

Well, except that we didn't have trains when we built the bases.

Choo-choo!
