Modded Minecraft Multiplayer Server

Odd,

The new files don't have the Discord Integration mod. I'm not sure which mod to upload to the server.

Merphle has sent me the config file, so I *think* it's Discord-Integration, but I don't really know.

Can you point me to the right mod?

cheers!

I don't see a server-side zip on Curseforge for Odd's pack, though I believe the mod she's referring to is the one I had suggested earlier in this thread (and the one for which I sent you the config file), available here.

I think that mod is server only. That is, there is no client mod, just a server mod. I did not include the mod in the client pack I uploaded to curse.

So I was wondering if what I am experiencing is correct with curseforge and MultiMC on Linux.

So I guess last week or so Curseforge disabled their old api for their new one which allows mod makers to require that their mod can only be downloaded via the curseforge app. This isn't the biggest deal on windows but I have been trying to get better with Linux and have been running PopOS for the last couple months on my laptop using MultiMC as my modded Minecraft manager. I just updated it yesterday and the curseforge downloads have been removed. I am all for supporting mod makers but I am not seeing a good path for Linux support here. I guess I should just get used to it from the Linux perspective but it worked great two weeks ago.

Side note I wish curseforge offered a pay option to remove adds as well.

Yeah. I main Garuda Linux, with only dual boot into Windows when I really have to. However this change to MultiMC impacts both Linux and Windows versions, once you update it. PolyMC still lists curseforge entries, but if you try to install them, it gives you a list of mods that are only available via curseforge and tells you to download them manually if you want to proceed.

I find the curse launcher pretty horrific (and haven't really looked into running it on Linux), so if this change is permanent, it may well just mean that I can't play any curseforge modpacks.

GDLauncher recently built a mechanism for downloading these "restricted" mods. Basically it downloads everything that it can normally, and then opens a series of embedded browsers to download the rest - you just have to make sure to leave the window alone until it gives the all-clear notice. Annoying that it's not completely seamless, but it works fine, at least on Windows - I haven't tested it on Linux.

I'm happy to report that Discord integration is up and running!

As a heads-up, I shall be unreachable for the next two days. Should anything go awry with the server, Oddrune has the ability to reboot and/or restart the server.

Happy building!

I have now visited all the home bases I know about and am especially impressed with them all. Makes my fenced off field look as primitive as it actually is!

Mastrude (and anyone else), the Warp Stone from Waystones might solve some of your exploration problems. You can use it teleport to any waystone you know for free (no XP cost) once every five minutes. Good for getting out of a jam or returning quickly from mining or exploration.

It looks like the ATlauncher well check your download folder for the mods it can't download and then prompts you to download them via web pages. That being said I am having problems with it locking up so ymmv.

MultiMC couldn't read the zip file, so I installed ATLauncher instead. So far it's working without issue.

Can someone investigate the Haunted Bell for me? The one I made seems to only interact with light level = 0 blocks, rather than light level <= 7 blocks as it should.

If it's borked and we can't fix it, maybe we add a light level overlay to the client.

Also, two people have asked me a furniture mod. McCrayfish's Furniture Mod maybe?

They changed hostile mob spawning in 1.18 to only be at light level = 0, so working as intended.

The more you know...

So the Create team just released Create version 0.5 "FULL STEAM". And a demo trailer of their new cake factory holy sh*t:

I think it's the most amazing Minecraft mod I've ever seen. It's so intricate I have trouble even figuring out how to use it!

Well it is a weird cross point. But I got my Steam Deck yesterday. It was not the only reason I got it but I was thinking it would be good fun if I could get modded working on the deck. I did successfully install atlauncher, download Stoneblock (my kids and I are playing through that one now), and launch it. It runs and seems to work fine. I was using a keyboard to test as the inputs are very much not mapped yet but it seems like I should be able to get it all mapped with a little time. The thought of modded on the go is exciting.

If you end up doing another version, here are a few recommendations:

Iron Backpacks
Crafting Tweaks

I also got my Deck yesterday, and I strongly considered installing GDLauncher and a modpack, but I figured that the key bindings just wouldn’t be sufficient for most modded gameplay.

Crafting Tweaks? Do you actually use it? I've never found it useful when I also have JEI to move items in.

Iron Backpacks isn't updated for 1.18.2 on CurseForge that I can see.

I do use Crafting Tweaks a lot, to balance the grid and to dump the crafting grid contents to inventory. Especially when using Tinkers crafting tables that retain their contents.

Sorry about Iron Backpacks! Not sure how I missed the version number. CurseForge search is so terrible.

Some alternate backpack mods:
Sophisticated Backpacks
Traveler's Backpack
Useful Backpacks
Simply Backpacks

Sophisticated Backpacks is great.

That's a Fact!

Okay, how do folks feel about 0.05 adding:

MrCrayfish Furniture Mod
Sophisticated Backpacks
Crafting Tweaks

Also, merphle, what do I need to do to get Dynmap running? Is it just another mod? Server side only?

I'm good with it. Sorry I've not been online much. I've had pretty bad internet for the last month. Good enough for BBS, but not Minecraft. We installed Starlink this week and it's been transformative!

Two thumbs up!

Yup, it's just another mod, server-side only. I believe the default HTTP port for it is 8123, and can be changed by editing the config file that's auto-generated after the server starts up the first time.

This version of Crafting Tweaks does not seem to work with the TiCo Crafting Station (even when using the a keyboard shortcut). Do you still want it, Quintin?

I uploaded v0.05 of the modpack a few minutes ago. The Curseforge scanners are working on it now.

I'm presuming that the info I gave you has proven effective?

That sucks. I'd still like it, if that's ok.

CraftingTweaks is in v0.05. Moggy, I think we're ready to try an update?
