Divinity Original Sin 2 Catch-All

Pages

Kickstarter is now live! Really nice to see they are pushing the envelope and forcing themselves to continue evolving the design. Four player coop sounds really ambitious given all the story hooks they are layering in.

I really hope the story and gameplay doesn't drag on like in the original. I got a good chunk of the way into the forest and my interest ran out.

I'm already on board at the $25 level. I also didn't finish the main game (yet) but this is definitely rekindling my interest in diving back in.

Shouldn't this be a Source-All?

I look forward to playing this on PS4 in a few years.

all in in a heartbeat.

Missed the first one, but backed this one.

Divine Dibs? I'll take it.

I'll happily buy it when this comes out but somewhat disappointed that they went back to kickstarter for this.

Never finished the first one either but I enjoyed what I played enough that I'm backing this one as well.

The major reason they went back to Kickstarter is that they really engaged the community when making the first one, and it was a process that both sides seemed to really enjoy. I don't recall off the top of my head which features, but there were features that were directly from the crowd-funders that made it into the game, which wouldn't have been in there without that interaction. I'm not really a huge fan of well-established companies using Kickstarter as their pre-order system, but I don't feel that Larian is guilty of that. It is to their benefit that Kickstarter provides an easy way to move our money to them, and how many copies they can expect to have in the wild, but they are mostly doing it this way to get some collaboration between the patrons and the artists here.

13 minute preview. Looks like a really great game.

Yes, they dont need the money. They're using Kickstater for hype, engagement, communication etc. But let's be fair, this is also a pre-pre-pre-order system and offloads a chunk of the risk onto the crowd. I dont like either of those.

Couldn't they have just used Steam Early-Access to the same ends if what they wanted was feedback and interaction?

Backed at $25. I was considering the four pack, but the few people I played co-op with for the first one got burned out very quickly. Consider me cautiously optimistic that this new game will do a better job at co-op. If it's all it's cracked up to be I may need to convert a couple of my fellow DnD players and make this our weekly game of choice.

Yeah, I backed it. This is my first official backing of something on Kickstarter. Now to wait to Dec 2016.

I just watched some of this Div OS 2 competitive multiplayer footage. Gotta admit, it looks fun enough and if there is one RPG that could pull this off it'd be Divinity.

That was a quick march to successfully funded!

If anyone wants to make a weekly co-op game night of this when it comes out I'd be down.

Those are some silly boobs in that YouTube preview image.

Backed at $25 level. Cheaper than the original release price so why not.

Well, it's not like Divinity Original Sin takes its world very seriously anyway.

Yeah, that's a little disappointing, especially considering it seemed like Larian was learning on this front. They changed their cover art for D:OS to take out silly midriff exposing boob armor and replace it with something more practical.

They also said that they want this game to be more serious than the previous, especially considering the main themes.

I'll buy it when it comes out, but unless I hear that the $30 KS price is a substantial pre-order discount I'm not going to do that. I'm not interested in playing the beta or joining the feedback community, so I'll just buy it the old fashioned way

Immediately in at the $30 level. Divinity OG Sin is one of my favorite RPGs of all time. I'm excited for this one!

Just came out on early access today. It's act one and most of the character creation but still missing quite a bit. Full game is to be released sometime in 2017.

I've started playing the Enhanced Edition, since I never finished the first release. As much as I like the two protagonist set-up, the inventory management and way dialogue works is a huge chore. I'm glad they got rid of it for this.

Yeah, I redeemed my key but I'm not downloading it yet. I'm going to hold out until the full game is released and then play it. I kinda don't want to taint my first impressions with an unfinished product.

I'm right with you. The day the full version drops I'll be there with a pot of coffee and a pad of graph paper.

Until then I'm trying to stay low key.

I admire your willpower (and love of graph paper). I'm not sure I'm strong enough to wait.

I know if I start now I'm jam through act I in a day and then be doubly sad.

The graph paper is really in preparation for Bard's Tale IV, but I just like having it around for RPGs.

I have not been keeping tabs on this one. They're ditching the two protagonist set-up?

I have the original, but I've yet to make a start.

Likewise, I'm going to hold off until the full version is available, although the joy and enthusiasm shown through the kickstarter updates are extremely infectious...
