2015 NFL Survivor (Eliminator) Pool

Just got an email about our group at ESPN from last year. Hopefully if we get this going before the season starts we will have more than 15 people in it this time.

This link should take you to the signup.

Reminder, last year Kush won after only week 4. Let's see if we can all do a little better this time.

Yeah I dont know how like I've been playing but I can never make it past 2nd week hehe

In, though last time I did a Survivor Pool I was out in the first week.

Oh yeah prob going out 1st week

I'll hopefully remember to pick every week this year, since not picking in week 4 apparently made it an easy win for Kush

You know it's going to be a good year when you don't like any of the match-ups in Week 1. I swear every mediocre team is home and none of the good teams are. Eventually I found the Denver Broncos, amazed they weren't a higher percentage of the picks since Peyton will be healthy and warm.

Jumped on board despite having very little NFL knowledge and having never played such a game. What could go wrong!?

Btw, do I just need to have my pick in before each week starts?

I think it's up until game time. So if you forgot until Sun afternoon you could still make a pick from Sun/Mon night games. But that would limit your picks. And you can only pick each team once. So if you had already picked the 4 teams involved, you'd be out of luck.

Best to go ahead and get it in by Friday or something.

Last year I pre-picked the whole season, just to make sure I had some good matchups (teams playing Oakland, Jax, etc.) that I was sure would win that week, but maybe not some other weeks. In theory if you made it past the halfway point of the season you'd have to start picking some mediocre teams, even some that aren't playoff teams, to get a win. So best to try to plan for that I think.

Then after 1-3 weeks, I went in and adjusted some picks as teams started to look good/bad.

Thanks Stele. Sound advice.

OK, I'm in. The goal is to make it through Week 9.

I think we should have a survivor winner and an overall 17 week winner with most wins, longest streak breaks the tie, so you keep picking, even if you lose. I will sign up today.

Yeah I went ahead and kept picking even after I lost, since it allows that.

Reminder to pick for this week!

Okay I joined. Not really sure what I'm doing though!

So this is fun. Also, how do they calculate the 'Tie' column?

Looks like 13 people survived.

6 people are out already. Gumbie and garion with the Seachickens. Zaque, karmajay and gameguru with the Colts. Fseven with the Jags.

And 2 more forgot to pick. Carlbear and dgbuzz (?).

No idea. Maybe based on the Vegas line?

It appears to be point differential.

Ah, #Math

Geeze I don't think I've ever got past week 2 and this year I changed my scheme to pick a "sure thing" Week 1.

Thanks nopants. The other two may have picked one of tomorrows games?

Oh maybe so. Yeah it doesn't show red or green on their picks actually so that's probably it. For some reason it just sorts them down in the 14th place tie. It should put them as the top 2 on that list, or even in 14th place by themselves and the others in 16th.

Sure things were "teams playing against Jax, Tampa, or Cleveland" this week.

Had trouble picking between the 3 honestly, so I went with "team playing Oakland."

Changed my pick from Green Bay to Carolina in the last hour, worked out either way.

Week 2 does not look any easier.

Yeah, I keep looking at the schedule and I don't see any team that I know is good playing a team that I know is not good.

Just pick whoever is playing Cleveland. Believe in Mariota!

That's cold Garion...

But true.

So I picked again even though I lost last week, i remember somewhere we said we were going to have 2 winners. Whoever lasts the longest and most wins at the end, correct?

Sounds fun to me. Since this one scores the whole season, might as well keep the game going.
