Fall 2015/Spring & Summer 2016 TV Catch-All

Anyone watching The Night Manager on AMC? I'm watching the first episode now, and while the writing seems fine, it's worth watching for Tom Hiddleston being at his most gorgeous. He's got some crazy cool eyes when it comes to acting and close-ups.

I'm DVRing it, but haven't started watching.

PERSON OF INTEREST TONIGHT!

It's ratings are awful, so I'm sure it's getting canceled, but Damien on A&E has just gotten better and better. Next Monday is the finale. Gonna be sad to see it go.

We watched Houdini & Doyle on a whim last night. It's the story of supernatural skeptic Harry Houdini and supernatural seeker Sir Arthur Conan Doyle solving murder cases in London. It's tone is closer to Monk and Psych. Fun show. Not sure it has legs.

Oh, I saw previews for Houdini and Doyle and was very, very interested!

I just watched the season premiere of Person of Interest!

Spoiler:

For the most part I loved the episode, but right near the end. The technobabble! I mean for a moment I thought it was going to be OK and then, OH GOD NO! And the over heating fix. LOL cringe worthy. Thankfully the techno speak is not something the show relies on. I hope to god they don't start now. HAHA.

Super stoked the show is back. Here's hoping it's a great final season.

I thought "a unique CELLular structure" was quite the turn of phrase to avoid having to explain Beowulf-like clusters and their modern descendants.

Night Manager is great.

Sigsbee and I finally managed to watch POI tonight. Can't believe it took us two days before we watched it, but I fell asleep at 8 on Tuesday and she did the same last night. We're old.

This week's Gotham

Spoiler:

I couldn't stop laughing. "Bring the right tool for the job"

Got about half way in to season 2 of Bosch. If you enjoyed season 1, I recommend season 2. If you haven't watched Bosch, it's a good show, just be ready to binge watch it since it's pretty slow and doesn't really present well in single episode sized chunks.

Yeah I burned through all of season 2 in three days or so. I really like that show.

I felt like that scene would have been better served by using the theme from Curb Your Enthusiasm.

I just started the Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell comedy show "House of Lies" and really enjoyed the first two episodes. I think it's a Showtime show, but it's on Amazon Prime.

They are management consultants and the content is somewhat bawdy.

Mostly, I just enjoyed Alfred kicking ass Rocksteady video game style. Sean Pertwee has been awesome in the role.

Supergirl is moving to The CW for season 2. A lot got cancelled today.

Oy, The Grinder - FOXed (second meaning). It could indeed have entertained us for years.

Castle? Well, it probably needed to go, but will the season finale be satisfying as the end of it all? Here's hoping.

And they still haven't made a decision about Limitless. Son of a gun. Of course, TV execs don't even appreciate Person Of Interest...what do I expect?

Agent Carter.

I'm not torn up over Castle. It had a good run and cancelation is better than the idea of continuing without Beckett. I'll miss it though.

Bummed about Agent Carter. Bummed that The Muppets was so depressing and cynical that it lost it's footing really early on and never recovered.

Pumped that I no longer have to go to CBS.com to watch supergirl. I'm really curious what sort of budget differences there will be though.

Also, Marvel's Most Wanted, the spinoff with bobbi and hunter was passed on. So maybe they'll be brought back into agents of shield now.

The Grinder cancelled? I'm actually surprised - it's one of the few sitcoms running that actually gets consistent laughs from me. I thought it was great.

Is it just me or is there a lot of turnover going on with ABC?

It WAS great! Super great!

It was an idea with so much potential, but it just didn't have any heart. I'm frankly glad they canned it.

I think Limitless did get cancelled

I don't either. My understanding is that of the shows CBS has yet to make a decision on Limitless is one of two that is by far the most likely to get another season.

I actually will miss both The Grinder and Grandfathered. I had figured on watching Grandfathered over the summer On Demand. Both shows didn't grab me on first viewings, but I gave them a few episodes as background TV noise, and kind of liked them. Probably Grinder more so of the two.

Supergirl on CW probably makes for easier crossovers. But the CG/wire work on that show was already kind of bad, so expect more bad there.

You, sir, have poor muzzle discipline.

I keep meaning to start Person Of Interest, mostly due to reviews around here. I suppose now would be a good time. It looks like all the previous seasons are on Netflix and with spring TV winding down in the next week or so, that's when I usually look to marathon something new for summer. So maybe I can start that and only been 3-5 episodes behind at some point, and watch those free on the web site.
