NCAA Basketball 2015-16 Catch-All

Interesting look at our bracket game. I'm in 7th but everyone in front of me has no champ left. Guess I'm cheering for UNC to win now.

I'll run the possible scenarios later.

I think it's down to this:

If Villanova wins out, SaintFaucet wins.
If UNC wins out, Stele wins.
If Oklahoma wins or if Syracuse beats Oklahoma, Jucofett wins.
If Syracuse beats Villanova, I somehow win.

I think.

The one year I don't go deep into my bracket with the Orange is the one year I'm fearing having to root against my usual team in the Finals (saying both Nova and 'Cuse advance).

Think you're right. Nobody picked Oklahoma to win, but juco has them in the finals. He would beat me by the 10 he leads me by right now if OU wins over UNC.

Likewise faucet is not behind me enough that if it's Villanova over UNC he would pass me.

I just can't get enough points by UNC winning one game. They have to win both for me.

Looks like Boudreaux can move up to 2nd in some scenarios with UNC in the finals but can't pass anybody. Only other people alive with final four points possible are Gio and Carl, but they are too far behind to matter right now.

It's Final Four time here in Houston!

...I will stay as far away from both NRG and downtown as possible.

Oklahoma might want to play some defense the second half.

Kansas feels less bad about losing a close game to Niva right now.

Never seen someone lay an egg this bad in the Final Four.

I mean Mich St got beat last year pretty soundly but this is another level.

Better than 70% FG rate and better than 60% 3-pt rate is insane. There are probably NBA teams that would be losing to Nova right now.

So they out-shot OU? Didn't expect that. Was OU's shooting really cold?

I'm just very surprised at this whipping. I was at the Magic pre-release tournament today, and saw the score after.

Should have known Oklahoma would lose. The "championship runs through Louisville" streak will continue this year.

6 years the Yum Center has been open, including this one. All 6 NCAA champions have played there at least one game the year they won it (UNC, Syracuse, and Villanova all did this year).

More that Villanova's was white-hot. They scored more in the second half (53) than OU scored in the entire game (51). Their FG percentage was the 2nd-highest in Final Four history, and their margin of victory was the highest in Final Four history.

After watching that game, Kansas indeed has to feel better about losing by only what, 6 points?

UNC game was closer but still not close. Syracuse cut it to 7 once, but mostly it was double-digits the whole 2nd half.

If Syracuse had hit some FTs, might have been different. But 3-10 first half put them in a hole.

Early line for Mon I'm seeing is UNC by 1.5

If you were thinking that Villanova-Oklahoma warranted a Jim Ross video from Deadspin, you're in luck! These never get old.

So it's me or SaintFaucet. Go UNC.

Wow. Best championship finish ever. 2 3s in the last 5 sec. Unbelievable.

Well. It could have ended better. A small defensive miscue in the last 4 seconds to let them sink a buzzer beater 3. Arg. Congrats to Villanova.

That was fun! All I need now is one shining moment to put a bow on another fine season.

Man, the ending was unbelievable, but those refs were horrible. They really changed the way that Carolina played.

Too bad for Carolina, but Villanova really played smart and shot lights out.

When do they do this One Shining Moment thing that everyone talks about?

They did it right after the game. It's a highlight package done to the same cheesy song for the last 30 years

I know what it is, but I didn't know when. Does it not incorporate moments from the final game, or do they just edit that in really fast?

Yes really fast. Like one commercial break.

I did not notice the coach mouth the word "Bang" just before the final shot went in and still didn't react. That guy has Freon for blood.

ICYMI.

Jaylen Brown declares for draft, Ivan Rabb is staying.. I was refreshing twitter all last night around 9pm pacific for Rabb news while hoping to avoid GoT spoilers from East Coasters.

While not unexpected, I really think Jaylen Brown could have used another year. He doesn't have the shot to be a 2 and is smallish for a 3. I'm sure he'll play as the latter in the NBA and there's no doubt about his ability to go to the basket, but he lost the ball way too many times doing that.

In college even if he struggles they'll keep giving him the ball, if that happens in the pros, he'll be on the end of the bench.

16-17 thread, a bit late, sorry.
