Well, it would appear that the new build on the PTR is changing up Legendaries a little bit.

Specifically making them items that generate a legendary based on your current loot spec... so you can roll a boss in Resto, then make your Legendary Enhancement by changing your loot spec before clicking it.

Good change! (Assuming it sticks)

Yeah, I saw that. There still isn't anything that's going to prevent my 4th legendary from being Sephuz', I can feel it.

True, but being able to gear up Restoration/Elemental with some relics/trinkets without feeling like "oh god, what if I get a resto or elemental legendary?!" is still a great thing.

The good news is that I'm almost out of non-DPS increasing legendaries for my DK.

The bad news is that I now have have the 7.0 tank trifecta and don't tank.

Mine was. It's not a great feeling lol. Gonna be an old, old man before I see those BM shoulders!

It's probably too late, but I find it crazy that Legendaries even have output effects. They should (IMHO) all be 910/940 items with purely utility effects.

So how many people in this thread are actually in the GWJ Alliance guild on Blackhand?

I'm asking because I wanted to discuss possibly recruiting a few more casual players, and I want to make sure this is the right place to discuss. The guild population seems a little low, even at prime time, and I'm frequently the only person online in the mornings when I usually have a little time to play. I was thinking maybe we could post something to the larger GWJ community, or encourage GWJ players to join us on Blackhand or something like that. My goal (personally) would be to have enough casual players in the guild that we could get an M or M+ run going on most days.

I've got an alt parked on Blackhand that I could probably dust off and guild up. Back when the pre-expansion demon invasions were running I played a game of "how quickly can I level a Monk off these?" and I hit the low-70s before I got bored. I meant to go back and join up at some point, but I still haven't gotten around to checking out the Alliance-side content. Not just the Legion stuff... any of it beyond level 30 or so...

I have a DH in the GWJ Alliance guild. When I log on there's either 1-3 people on who don't really talk or there's 6-8 people on but they are usually doing a high level raid. I've tried a couple of times to get a dungeon group together but I don't think there's much casual play going on right now in the guild.

I'd be up for this, or even the opposite where every Legendary was a massive DPS/Heal/Tank boost. Either way, you can't have something that's worth a 10% dps boost have an equal chance as Sephuz' when you're only going to get 5-6 of them in the expansion.

Same here. I just have Sephuz's to get and then I'll be on the way to marginal upgrade town!

Got Sephuz's already, and it's surprisingly helpful as both a healer and a ranged DPS who uses crit. Only Prydaz left for me to stop getting "the bads", but even that one wouldn't be terrible, really.

I've been casually exploring WoD (Garrison expansion, ship yard, and checking out the various steps required for WoD flight). I can see how it would have had some negatives for hard core WoW players, but as a casual player I'm really enjoying it. I love the Garrison building (for now at least, while it's new), and the story/graphics/design/music/etc are fantastic!

My primary goal with WoD is to get the Heirloom Rings for my alts. Beyond that I'll just explore the story, get a few achievements, and hopefully a bunch of Transmogs/Toys/Pets/Mounts.

Anyone have any advice, thoughts, or helpful links for a 110 exploring WoD with fresh eyes? I've started doing the group daily for 750 Oil, built a Lumbermill, got my Fishing to 800 with the daily fishing quest, and I'm picking up my Resources every day, so I feel like I've got the basics.

I think in order to see the ring missions you need to have done in your garrison below... I know for sure you need steps 1 and 2 for sure. Not sure about 3 and 4. You do need 3 and 4 to get the Hieroloom trinket from your follower missions though. Your text to link here...

1 Level 3 shipyard
2 Equipment blueprint: Ghostly Spyglass
3 At least 675 item level on character
4 At least 675 item level on garrison followers

Building the garrison was pretty darn cool. Keeping up with all the resources and missions that a built garrison threw at you... that got to be a chore.

It also got kind of lonely, since you had your main town/downtime hub all to yourself.

Just follow the story lines in each zone. Start with Shadowmoon Valley (I'm assuming your Ally) and progress through Tanaan Jungle.

Garrisons are a pretty good way (still, I think) to boost the profession skills of all of your characters. Problem is, they're not the gold farms like they used to be. And doing the dailies on multiple toons will soon feel like work.

If you get lonely for human company, come join us in Legion! Thanks to World Quests, there are always people out and about in the world.

Garrisons were awesome and fun until you finished them. Once every upgrade is done and every checkbox checked, it became a lonely lonely chore. However, if you're going it with fresh eyes, it must be a pretty fun solo experience, which has its own merits in itself. I'd advise jumping ship to Legion content the moment you feel bored. There's a lot of fun content in Legion and even in previous expansions to explore instead of looking at timers.

Why you should open even those small treasure chests scattered around the Legion world: Because this baby might be hiding in it.

I found the i940 version of this ring in a chest in Azsuna last night. Lucky for me murlocs aren't curious (and neither were the 20 other people in the WQ area).

Pretty sure those chests (or at least the contents) are tied to you personally. You just got lucky with the legendary proc

Grats!

You gotta love WoW's randomness.

Run dungeons dozens of times looking for drake mounts? Bupkus.

Pick up a random chest on a beach teeming with murlocs? I get the best piece of gear I've ever had.

Huh, I had no idea the chest had a chance to drop anything other than order resources and the occasional AP item. I may have to take some time out on my shaman to hunt them down, since she still has yet to get a legendary.

Chests are definitely worth it because, even if you don't get a legendary from them, they increase the counter for your bad luck protection towards getting one.

Huh, I had no clue about this either. One more way for me to get my inevitable Sephuz'.

Yeah, I keep meaning to go around and get them all opened to get my next Legendary... I'm just waiting until after I get my inevitable Prydaz to do so.

If you pick up the treasure map for each zone, it's easy enough to pick up a ton as you just wander around doing whatever you normally do. It's amazing how many chests are right out in the open but would be totally invisible to me if I didn't have them marked on the mini-map.

You can also get the HandyNotes plugin for Legion Treasures.

So sub rogues have the fantastic artifact trait 'cat-like reflexes' = total immunity to fall damage. Probably my favorite trait in the entire game due to the resulting QoL improvement.

Druids shape-shift into an actual cat, somehow don't have cat reflexes nor even cat-like reflexes, still take fall damage.

Druids have had reduced fall damage in cat form since the game came out, or close after it at least. It's possible that it came in the 1.x patch that gave us Moonkin Form.

Rogues get immunity to fall damage for the same reason they actually get faster when they stealth: since Rogues can't be tanks or healers or ranged DPS, they were given a lot of upgrades in the quality-of-life department to make up for it.

Also Druids basically do have immunity from fall damage. It's called Flight-Form-is-instant-cast.

yeah instant flight form does the trick... but only when flight is enabled, ie not until 7.2 and unlocked

Moonkin's Flap as well.

FYI in case you didn't notice but the Battle.net launcher got updated last night. It now lets you search FB for possible Wow/Hearthstone/Heroes of the Storm friends. It also lets you search friends of existing Bnet friends for friends. When I hit that search option, I found about 300+ GWJ folks.

Friend requests incoming!

True story, gotta work on that more tonight... after the weekly for Timewalking.

Anyway... that new mount? SOOOOOOOOO pretty. I love it. Works so well with my fire themed armors for Shaman. Now if only I could have one as a pet, like a replacement for my fire elemental.

Well, my guild finally managed to get down Elisande tonight, thanks probably in great amounts to the health nerf. We then went on to down Guldan after I think 7 wipes. On to heroic next week, I suppose....
