Admit it, you play clicker games.
Cookie Clicker, Clicker Heroes, Adventure Capitalist, Steam Monster Summer Game, TimeClickers, etc.
It's OK. This is a safe space. Feel free to share.
Hi, my name is Ryan, and I've been playing Clicker Heroes for months now. I've tried to stop but I can't. I need help.

I'm not sure what there is to share, though. The games tie in so nicely to that feeling of "just one more turn" / "one more upgrade", but on the other hand, I have a hard time calling them "games", since there's almost no strategy (when to switch over for new game+ is generally about it), and neither a winning or a losing condition. Perhaps "collect all the achievements" is the winning condition, but these seem to be moving goal posts, since there's inevitably an update adding more once people start to get close.
Which is to say, I have a love/hate relationship with these stupid things.
You made me play cookie clicker again.
You're a bad person and must be stopped.
I admit that I've been sucked into a couple of clicker games. One was Tap Heroes. I liked the artwork in that game.
The other one is Bitcoin Billionaire. Both on iPad. Bitcoin Billionaire has an office theme. The way you end up frantically tapping on the iPad with all ten fingers felt like speed typing. Kind of novel.
Neither one stuck with me. The genre just doesn't have its hooks in me.
I only play these games on my phone anymore. Mostly because you can have 3 or 4 different ones and they accrue their respective currency for a little bit while closed so you can swap between a few in an hour, buy your upgrades and keep going.
I think it's because they are basically free to play games and offer nothing in terms of 'gameplay' really - basically surviving off of microtransactions. Which isn't bad - I suppose if you feel comfortable spending the money on something, that's not their fault. I know I've done it before.
I'll play Clicker Heroes because I can play for free and I like seeing how high I can get. Currently trying to beat level 355. But no way would I spend money on it. I'll blaze it up for a couple of minutes on Steam a couple of times a day.
These clicker games are the definition of a Skinner box. They really are every video game ever made, boiled down and distilled to its most basic essence. In that sense, they are an interesting experience.
I stopped Clicker Heroes pretty quick. Something felt off about it in terms of the progression / feedback loop. I've had Cookie Clicker running a script I found for months now. I just glance at it to buy some upgrades occasionally. Since the game seems abandoned, I'll be shutting it down once It hits the final arbitrary achievement mark.
Tap Titans (mobile platforms) has been my clicker game, and I'm to the point of it being nearly autonomous aside from tapping once every 5 minutes to tell it to activate an ability that lasts for nearly 4 minutes, and buying upgrades. I think I may be done with these types of games once I reach some set goals with Tap Titans.
I like clicker games when there is an idle way to play it.
I'm currently on Clicker Heroes and ADventure Capitalism.
They just give me a feeling of progression, like a RPG.
Oh well
I can't seem to get rid of my Cookie Clicker save file. Because I know that sooner or later, I'll be back... Curse you, delicious, mellow, chocolatey goodness that are cookies...
I'll just leave this here...

I don't really understand this. An rpg where you just watch?
Not entirely. You have to manage spells, potions, leveling up, checking crates, equipment, and other upgrades. But yeah, the party will run around, explore and fight on their own.

You're a terrible, horrible monster for linking this. Thank you. I think.
I found myself alt-tabbing out of "real games" to manage my Clickpocalypse 2 party. Sheesh!
I have this horrible compulsion to micromanage everything I can.
huh, was thinking Cookie Clicker was dead. Apparently not:
oh btw
happy bday cookie clicker, i promise i'll take good care of you soon

Digging this a lot. Easy to just leave running in a browser window, check on it whenever I'm waiting on a rebuild. Beautiful stuff.
Y'all heard about this clicker game called Diablo?

No. Is it anything like Torchlight? Really liked that clicker game!
I'm considering making a GWJ Clan in Clicker Heroes. I don't really know what it does, but why not, right? Do we have anyone here who'd want to join? (By considering, I mean I'm probably doing it in a minute or two.)
Eh too late, clan made. Gamers With Jobs is the name - feel free to request an add and I'll add you!

I'll apply tonight!

There is credit when you complete the game.. funny !
Anyone else want to join the GWJ clan in Clicker Heroes? We need more people for the daily raids! The hero soul payout is so worth it but I haven't gone through enough to do any substantial damage!
Looks like the clicker heroes clan is full. Is there an overflow one up?
What?! You can only have so many people? That's odd... I checked the pending member list today or yesterday and didn't see anyone. When did you join?
