Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr (Catch All)

For my own recent discovery, I've learned just how powerful Berserk really is. I can't imagine how crazy it must have been before it was nerfed.

I'd always focused on other states like Enrage, because the 1-berserk per second decay rate always made me think it would be difficult to keep the stacks up. It is a little harder on big open maps, but everywhere else I've not had any problems keeping the stacks in the 80-100 range. (The nerf was to decrease the max stacks to 100.) Using +movement speed items and assault armor to jump around makes it easy.

I also noticed with this season that the Uncreator Psalm (+50% effectiveness to vulnerability debuffs) now says "Does not stack within a single item." So that was nerfed a bit as well, but it still seems like it's one of the best ways to increase damage.

From what I understand Berzerk tokens, even nerfed, are still amazingly powerful when stacked.

They are. I'm handling +8 missions without much difficulty, and done a few +9, and I haven't even optimized much of my gear yet. The only issue I've had was a couple of missions that some kind of elite right outside the first room, before I had any berserk built up.

I really like the heat aura psalm-doctrine as well. It destroys many trap triggers before you get to them, and speeds up clearing mobs to keep those stacks of berserk maxed. It was amusing during the campaign. Even though you're not in control when enemies are doing bits of dialogue, the heat aura still does damage, and they would die halfway though their first sentence.

Bahahahahha so delightful. I had a heat aura on my last seasonal character and LOVED it. See all those barrels? BOOM, dealt with.

Gotta check out heat auras.

As it is, I'm running a DoT-only build and I can handle +12. It's not easy but I can do it.

Very tanky.

Is the heat aura a skill, or what?

It's a Psalm Code Doctrine. It needs an item with at least 4 slots. "Creates a damaging aura dealing +100% Heat damage per second. 6m radius, ticks every .25 seconds"

This is a whole new part of the game I have not paid attention to! Thank you!

Yup, another awesome part of the game that isn't explained in the actual game very well.

So the game is down for a few days, because they’re switching their backend to AWS, and it is SO WEIRD because Inquisitor has really become my go-to game.

“I wanna kill something for 20 minutes.” Inquisitor.
“I wanna feel better about the world I live in.” Inquisitor.
“I wanna see lots of salsa on the floor.” Inquisitor.

I so hope it comes back soon.

I played offline for an hour or so this weekend. Is my progress lost?

ETA: I have a Void Crusade ready for closeout but I should maybe wait for it to come back up?

How did you play offline?

I just chose that as an option (Series X) as it was provided. Might just be a console thing?

The servers are back up!!!

Praise the Omnissiah!

Oh I've no idea how it works on consoles.

Another question.

I was recently accepted into a cabal and I see that there are missions that reset weekly but I am not sure how to contribute. I am on console if that helps narrow anything down.

I am loving this game the more I play it. Using the armor skill to jump into a group and just chainsawing them into wet piles makes me so happy. The sound design of this game is the best part of it.

Such squishy sounds.

I believe you contribute by doing missions to get the thing, then clicking the UI button to turn in the thing. OR sometimes they're collected automatically. It's kind of weird.

What's the thing you need for your cabal?

Follow the taint. Curio collection.

The sound on the heavy flamer...glorious.

f*ck I don't remember how to do that one. Let me ask on the Discord.

Heh actually someone already asked. Looks like Nurgle missions.

Appreciated. I will get busy walking through the slime.

Green salsa!

My least favorite part of Nurgle missions is all the tentacles that block your path. I just want to flame and run and these things keep getting in my way!

Yeah it's a shame that for all the game's destructible terrain, stuff like that isn't among them.

After mulching some Nurgle I finally started contributing to the Curio count on the cabal page. With auto-loot enabled I didn't even know they were dropping them.

Wonderful!

Just note that, if it's an established Cabal, they may already be at the current max. You'll still get a weekly reward for your individual contribution though.

Re-working the cabal progression is one of their goals.

Are server communications slower for anyone else since the switch to AWS? The missions themselves run fine, but the rewards screen at the and any inventory or merchant interaction has a noticeable delay for me.

Yeah it's been totally laggy, and they're aware of it.

Is there still a GWJ cabal? I've restarted this recently.
