Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr (Catch All)

Yup - it does crash quite a bit though, and hardlocks the Xbox, so I'd hold off a bit with playing.

I haven’t had any of those problems so far. Up to lvl 20 and power 500ish with my crusader. Based on some of the stuff posted on steam/reddit I was expecting it to be a little rough. Anyway I am still digging it.

Awesome - On my xbox One X, it does both, and I'm only level 5, so I guess its different from xbox to xbox.

Had my 1st shutdown and reboot moment while the game was loading. After that it worked fine. I’m on my 1st gen Xbox one.

Well, thats not so bad, if you are level 20 plus - here's to a quick patch that fixes the issues

Well, I bought it on ps4. Its interesting, I love the fiction, but I might be over the mechanics and aesthetics of ARPGs.

It's also definitely a PC game, with too many windows, inelegantly placed, with too tiny fonts. Th hand written notes are basically illegible at the presented size from sitting distance. Might give it another week to suck some story out, and then trade it in.

So after the latest update the game crashes more frequently. Made it to lvl 40 so had a good run with it, but I guess I will take a break from it. Hopefully when I come back it will be better sorted out. Off to D2 forsaken for a bit.

Yeah, I read about that. Such a shame. I got 60+ hours of it, but I'm probably done with it, sadly.

Ditto. There’s a bunch I love but it really felt like it needed another year of development or a tighter scope.

I take it everyone is still bowed out. I fired this up last night for a bit, and plan on at least playing through the current dark eldar stuff.

I currently don't have the room to even install it.

eldar?

Not that i'm jumping back anytime soon due to BO4, but i'll definitely check it out eventually.

So a big 2.0 update is coming next year, which looks pretty great, actually.

Co- op campaign. in the update? Okay, I now consider your game in a shippable state.

Ditto. It was badly needed.

Arrgh. I want to like this game so much more than I do.

I like almost everything about it, except for the core gameplay.

For me, it would work a lot better if they took another cue from the Eisenhorn books, and let you hire a party of 40k weirdos for your adventuring. Move the combat model from an individual focus with tediously long cooldowns to a realtime party-based model more in keeping with DoW2, Dungeon Siege, or the old Baldur's Gate style DnD rpgs.

Edit: I just went back to page 1 of this thread and saw that I expressed the very same feeling there, three years ago.

Well I figure I can use match making in the update and pretend my co-op partners are those guys. Yell at them in a gruff English accent, be as puritanical as I can.

Except in the last book released this year he walks down the heretical path.

Agreed, something like Pillars of Eternity or a turn based game like X-Com.

Shhh, shhh. My Eisenhorn doesn't have robot legs, demons and still has hair.

He is still my favorite and a bad ass. Starting to show his age. Id like to see an updated Ravenor book as well.

Eisenhorn was always a heretic. /s

Ravenor is a much more interesting character, I haven’t gotten around to reading Pariah yet but I was annoyed with where they left him in Magos.

...are you Heldane?

Picked this up on sale on PS4 to give it a whirl since I bounced off the PC version pretty hard. Makes for a muuuuuch better experience when you aren't having technical glitches and can actually read logs. The atmosphere is better because of those logs and whatnot. Now I finally understand what this whole Martyr thing is about.

Also, sniper rifle is OP. No idea why I would use anything else.

My one big gripe is that aiming with the camera is handled poorly. Too often I'm zooming in while trying to aim. Very odd choice. Direct control of your character a la Diablo 3 would go a long way in making the feel better to play.

On sale for PS4? Why no Xbox?

Don't have One.

No, I mean why isn't it on sale for One. I want it on my One I'm just not going to pay $60. And the holiday sale is in full swing on there right now but that game is absent from the deals.

I'm strangely tempted by the PS4 version & have it sitting in my cart. Interested in the other ways this is striking your fancy because I also bounced off the PC release. My reasons for leaving were mainly to do with the poor performance on many of the levels involving giant mobs (nearly all of them) even with the visuals kicked all the way down. Found the gamepad implementation to be "just OK" and ended up primarily playing my melee inquisitor M/KB style.

Performance is less than perfect, still. I've had some slowdown during rushes and boss fights, but it generally runs OK. Granted, it looks and feels like 30 fps is the target, so....

The gamepad implementation is pretty much the same. I've been thinking about it and really wish they had redesigned the controls to better fit a controller, like Blizzard with D3. It makes so little sense to have the camera controls and aiming as they do. It's certainly playable, but it's definitely second tier. Melee feels best to me and cover completely useless with a controller, but my opinion may change the more I play.
