Rocket League Catch All

The ball is in Psyonix's court to actually put the weiner mobile in the game.

Best of JZR's Moiments

So I can play on PS5 now. Not sure if it's the 120 patch or another one the last few months but I can now play with some level of competency. Tried some casual yesterday at lunch to try. Adjusted camera a bit.

Tried today and actually won all 3 rumble matches I played at the same rank I've been playing on PC!

Not that there's a lot of people stuck on console. Mostly just spikeout I used to play with on PS4 and we can all do cross platform teams now. But at least it works again if I want the option. And no 4k PC monitor right now.

And there are some PS+ free items I might try out on my cars for fun

Oh it's in the patch notes:

There are seven ban levels for Casual Playlists:
First - 0 Minutes
Second - 5 Minutes
Third - 10 Minutes
Fourth - 20 Minutes
Fifth - 40 Minutes
Sixth - 1 hour
Seventh or more - 2 hours

Once you progress beyond the first level, there is a 12-hour cooldown before the ban level de-escalates by one level.

And I hope this actually works. I have definitely got screwed by not getting XP or weekly challenges with this bug:

Fixed matches not counting as completed when leaving a match during the final replay

I'm not a fan of the ban for Casual. I mainly used Casual when I don't know how long I can play and need to leave at drop of a hat. (baby napping, ect.)

I do admit I play 95% ranked though. For people that play more Casual has this improved gameplay? I'm not sure what differentiates Casual and Ranked now though?

It's both improved it and made it worse at the same time. Yes with this change you are now stuck in less games filled with bots. However, now I get stuck in more games where I don't want to play with my teammates anymore (they are toxic, aren't trying anymore, etc) but I can't just leave so I either have to quit and take the ban hit or just deal with it and keep playing because my teammates won't forfeit.

I don't play anywhere near as much, but as someone who played 95% ranked up UNTIL this change because I hated people quitting, I've been a fan of the change.

Ranked did nothing for me, I don't play with some mod that tells me how good I'm not, it was purely because I wanted to finish a game with the people who started it (or forfeit or whatever). This change basically gave Casual the one feature that only existed Ranked. Ranked made me care about something I really shouldn't care about, so it is a burden off of me to be able to play full games (most of the time) in Casual.

Yeah in general casual matches are better now. The ones that go south you can often get out of by conceding. Of course there will always be toxic players you can't get to quit. But other modes already had that.

I'll have to try more casual. I'll always have free play when time is limited. One day I'll learn how to dribble and flick. I'm getting better at catching the ball.

Nice catch and turn! I am a fan of the change, but I typically always played my games out whatever the situation anyway.

I'm pretty sure Fire just hates himself and this is a form of self punishment

Yeah make it permanent. And football too.

Gridiron can be really really fun. Would love to get into a lobby where everyone has experience with it.

Why the f*ck do they introduce LTM casual modes without the concede feature?

How many blowouts will I have to suffer the next week to get all this Batman crap?

It's not fun, on either side.

EDIT: And apparently no backfills either, even for a tie game. Jesus, devs, what the f*ck.

You can leave those without a penalty. That’s why there isn’t a concede.

Yes, but you don't get credit for playing a match if you leave a blowout like you do with concede/forfeit. Or any other stats you accumulated that match. Just a complete waste of time if you're the one getting blown out.

I don't think you have to play the Batman mode to get the items. Any game will work I think.

Get out of here with your logic and facts. I was on tilt and mad last night.

Then my cat got on top of the computer and shut it off mid-game again. So I quit.

In the recent Reddit Q&A Psyonix Corey said:

We've been exploring a transition to a newer version of Unreal for quite some time, but the team was quite small until this year.

We're not ready to share timelines yet about the overall project, but we have goals to start testing next year. Obviously we'll need a lot of feedback from players (and pros!) to ensure a complete rebuild of Rocket League feels right.

Our general intent is that UE5 will replace the current Rocket League. I can't say for certain today if it will be a new application or a major patch - there are too many dependencies and details around how each platform works, content ownership, etc.

Your inventory in Rocket League will carry forward and be supported and respected in the UE5 edition.

So the intent at least is that it is a continuation of Rocket League, not a completely new game that doesn't carry over your stuff.

There is a decal for the DeLorean in the store that makes the car silver and white. I have no plans to use that car again but it does look better that way.
