Man, where did this game come from. I had never heard of it until it was just free on PS+ and OMGE is it a blast. Talk about sleeper hit.
Yeah, this is the best free game about car soccer (or auto-football, as the rest of the world calls it) that I've ever played!
Seriously, I was delighted and surprised at just how much fun I had playing this game.

Rocket League is fantastic. I've been staying up way too late playing most nights. Tore through a season to get the trophies, now I'll just be playing online. I love that there's certainly a degree of skill involved and I've felt myself improving a lot, but it's also chaotic enough to help keep things exciting even if you are losing. Match length is perfect too.

Edit: I've been watching some Northernlion videos on youtube and it looks like a blast.

A couple friends recommended this to me and we played all night last night. It's the most fun I've had with a game in a long long time.
This is the most fun I've had since Resogun. The online matches are a mixture of crazy scuffles for the ball, last ditch defending, amazing goals & mistiming your barrell roll to fly past the ball

Tell me about it. That, and accidentally making it into the wrong goal is so embarrassing. Then someone else does it and all is better

I just picked this up tonight on PC and lost my entire evening to it. I experienced some occasional lag, but nothing serious.

I don't think so. I haven't seen a bot named You in the game yet, or Kronovi. I also don't think there is a spectator mode to get these shots from. Maybe it's someone using a nodded version of the game, but I think they all look possible. Some of them look more like luck than skill, but doable nonetheless.

Nope, those are all actual players not using bots/cheats/etc.

Lol I'm with you now. Yanno the great shots don't bother me near as much as the AI epic saves they make 90% of the time. Had a match with clown,spike, and shutter last night where I had two or three great shots that the AI goalie made unbelievable saves on. I guess it's easy to dive in the right spot when you know EXACTLY where the ball is programmed to go.
That video is awesome. I have yet to get the hang of aerial boosting... some day!
Played online for a good couple of hours last night. So much fun. I've mostly done ranked matches but a friend and I were doing some 2v2 unranked and got in a fantastic best-of-three set against a couple of people. Love that it lets you rematch and just keep it going if you have a good match up.
I keep on hearing about server problems, which has kept me away, that and the $20 price of it on steam.
Well, it is cross platform play, so there should always be players, but no way to group cross platform yet.
Is there any difference between the fields? For some reason, I keep on thinking a pinball field or pinball bumper would make things go nuts.

Cross platform is done using private matches at the moment.
And no, there isn't any variation on the actual fields--it's all cosmetic right now. The theory is that they're going to go into the DLC route for different maps, which will be free.
I hope they do some of the weird types of maps they had in SARPBC. There was a weird U shaped arena and one that had wind.
