Point of order: The 1998 remake of Psycho was directed by Gus Van Sant; Vince Vaughn played Norman Bates.

Just a quick note that the front page titles this as Episode 453 instead of 454. Carry on.

I get a zero byte file, if I click on it, and go to its url (after redirection), it will start playing in browser.

It's not showing up in my podcast feed either. Is something wrong with iTunes?

It wasn't showing up as new in my iOS Podcasts app, but episode 454 did show up (as already-played, strangely) if I switched to the "Feed" tab (instead of "Unplayed"), and I could then manually download it.

Actually, now that I look more closely, I think the latest episode is showing up in the Podcasts app with a date of Dec 31, 2000. Weird.

Jeff made about the most sheepish sponsor call-out I've ever heard this episode: "Yeah, I was down there with IGNand Wal-Mart...

My impression with the DOOM trailer is that it's in the same camp as the early blood splattered trailers for Dragon Age. It's emphasising the gore and action but there will probably be room for more tension and horror in the actual game.

This weeks show was great. For my money, the only way to play Diablo3 is on console. Couch co-op is sooo much fun in this game.

For my money, Fallout Shelter kind of backfired. As a long time Fallout fan, I'm already interest in their new game. Also as a longtime Fallout fan, I'm curious about their little mini-game. But they they tell me I can't have it for a month or two. Then they tell me about their second-screen gimmick.

"It's totally cool. Also, it will in no way be hindered by the ineptness we're currently displaying with the Android platform."

The second screen and Fallout Shelter aren't deal breakers, not by a long shot. But they seem custom designed to leave a sour taste in my mouth right out of the gate. I await Fallout 4, and it's first patch, with cautious optimism.

Isn't the game free?

Yeah, when you right click --> Save it you get a file of 0 bytes.

Not sure whats up with that...

*EDIT* I get the issue in Firefox but not Chrome...

There is something wrong with the new feed I have to remove and re-subscribe to the RSS feed.

Now all the new episodes are with date 01/01/70 ?

Ha! Amazing shout. Yes, you could hear that one being hurriedly slid under the radar.

This is exactly the same problem I get from Three Moves Ahead. The Save As download link that used to work fine now gives me a 0kb HTML file when I try to download it.

I thought it was my browser or something else on my computer but this is clearly server side. I haven't changed anything on my end.

On Windows Phone default Podcast app, it seems to have been published a little bit before the thirty-year-long war, on January 1 1601.

What did you think that war was about?

So, what you're saying is the Game King decided to send a podcast back in time to 1601 because he knew that Dan Michaelis has ancestors in that time northern Germany. They got so infuriated that Rabbit pronounced their ancient surname wrong while claiming he was doing it right that they started revolting.

According to Wikipedia:

"Religious tensions broke into violence in the German free city of Donauwörth in 1606. There, the Lutheran majority barred the Catholic residents of the Swabian town from holding an annual Markus procession, which provoked a riot."

My guess is that what we think to have been religious tensions was really a disagreement over the proper pronunciation.

The direct consequence was the thirty years war, basically World War zero, which was not finished properly, and became the seed for conflicts for centuries to come, finally giving Paradox Entertainment the idea to develop Europa Universalis, iterating on it until the Game King was born.

Is that what you're saying?

Sounds about right.

I wish I had the mind to plan at such a scale. He IS the true Game King, isn't he.

I don't know. He mostly plays as western European nations, like a coward. Swabia's pretty far east for him.
