Horizon Zero Dawn Catch-All

Announced at Sony's 2015 E3 presentation.

Released February 28, 2017.

Wow, my stream was running kinda low res. This looks great.

Now, see, this is the kind of game that would sell a system for me. Add to that all the FF games coming out and I'm definitely getting piqued to pick up a PS4 when the next round of sales pop out, or if that MGS: Phantom Pain special edition PS4 gets released in the US.

Wasn't expecting this one. Looks pretty damn good. PS4, here I come.

This does look much better than the stream I saw. I'll have to keep tabs on this.

Also, at the end it looked like she was about to murder a Judas Priest album cover

Love everything about this concept and the execution. I really like the 'sorry I had to kill you little one' moment.

This is the only thing I have seen from E3 that has got me really excited. I'm sort of looking forward to Fallout, but in a "Hey I haven't played a Fallout game in like 6 years" kind of way. Where this has me a bit giddy after rewatching the trailer.

I'm excited for this as well. Completely unexpected and looks like something to keep tabs on.

I'm on the other side. The setting looks interesting for sure, but I'm not seeing a real "hook" that makes me want to play the game. What will this game do that hasn't been done before? Need more details.

The biggest issue I have is that it's the Killzone devs. Killzone games never struck a chord with me.

Also, the announcement blog at Playstation is rated 1.4 stars. Wtf?

Edit: I did see someone mention Enslaved and this does very much look like Enslaved the Open World (??) Action RPG Monster Hunter like (?).

Count me as pleasantly surprised and excited for this one too.

Does the protagonist from the footage look like Ygrette from Game of Thrones to anyone else, or is that just me?

Looked great. Certainly most interesting - new - thing on E3 so far.

You know nothing shoptroll.

Some RPG elements are mentioned in this interview, including crafting (which you can see in the video) and quests.

Fascinating interview. Thanks.

You always wonder if new IPs like this are just one video and a whole load of vague concepts but it sounds like they've got the game well under way. It's so refreshing to be excited about something that isn't a known quantity :).

According to the studio, the single-player, completely open-world (meaning that anywhere you see, you can go) action-RPG falls halfway on the spectrum between the action-oriented open world games that Ubisoft has been producing for the past 7 years, and the most RPG-focused adventures that Bethesda works on.

This game sounds quite ambitious.

This was exciting as it was a real surprise. Most other announcements were known, but this was a thrilling reveal.

I'd be in for a co-op experience. I've either missed out on the system, or my friends list has had little interest in Monster Hunter. I got that Monster Hunter vibe from the reveal. It could be nothing alike, but if it is, then Spikeout and I may finally get to hunt!

Wish someone asked about the monster battles more. Upon further inspection, looks like you have multiple weakpoints to target and can knock more than just weapons, but armor away as well. I assume the crafting is partially tied into what weapons are on your Super Swiss Crossbow Mega Ultra 25000 Hypermix.

Just thought of this game again and apparently as of today, the E3 build-up begins:

I can see the image!

I can see the image just fine. It also infuriates me. I can't see myself ever owning a PS4. This game sounds fantastic.

+1 I have no intent of ever picking up a PS4 or Xbone (or future Sony or MS offerings for that matter) so I guess I'll have to just experience this through LP videos.

Must be my chrome extensions making it not visible in the GWJ post for me.

Giddy clapping ensues

I wish it was for PC, but this game is surely at the top of my "hyped for a game I know very little about" list.
I kinda bought a PS4 solely for playing Bloodborne, so I guess it might see some use again... in 2017?

In that case, I believe the most sensible question is this: Who do I get to threaten to murder?

Weirdly enough, Hello Games and women. Listen, I don't make the rules.
