The game outright tells you when you've found a non-lethal option. That objective is not that.
Well, technically it is! Just not the non-lethal option, which I discovered upon completing that map.
In regards to the mansion... well, let's just say I spent an awful lot of time getting all the dang runes and bonecharms.
Finally made it to mission 4, so far it's taken me just under six hours. Really enjoying this so far, environments are huge and I am already figuring out things I'd like to do on a high chaos Corvo run.
I was kicking myself that I didn't spot the " REALLY obvious when you think about it" reveal at the start of the last mission. (Spoiler for character details, obvs).
Meaghan is Billie Lurk. DERP...that's like - the most obvious character reveal ever and it totally flew over my head! She even mentions at one point she used to live in the bloody Flooded District! I am such a noob.
I really, really want to play as Emily -- for the novelty, among other reasons -- but that would mean missing out on Stephen Russell's dulcet stealth-mutterings. What a dilemma! If only there was some way to play a video game more than one time!
Finished! Loved it! Will be going back in for several more runs no doubt - still got to get a clean zero kills, ghost, and no powers run in. Will probably do a Garret Corvo run at some point next as well.
Goes without saying it'll be on my GOTY list for certain but really they could have just literally remade the first game again and I'd probably still have said that.
Finished the game! Man, quite a few memorable levels. The Clockwork Tower made my head hurt. Stilton's mansion was worse! It was like trying to watch 2 different movies with each eye. Won't soon forget it though. Great game!
Just found this little secret regarding Stilton ("A Crack in the Slab") that blew my mind
Super major spoiler here:
If you knock out Stilton, everything changes in the present. I did not and got a slightly different ending to that level
Cool. That's on the second playthrough to do list!
I don't like the new voice actor for the Outsider. The original one sounded nice and mysterious, the new one sounds like some random college dudebro talking with his head inside a bucket.
FYI the new voice is Robin Lord Taylor (The Penguin from Gotham), His voice actually gew on me through the game - also he's not a Transphobic douchebag like the old voice actor was.
in fact, some really cool voice actors here...the most notable being:
Emily Kaldwin - Erica Luttrell (Sapphire from Stephen Universe!)
Corvo - Stephen Russel (Garret from Thief, obviously, playing basically the same part)
Meagan - Rosario Dawson (!)
Duke Abel - Vincent D'Onofrio (!)
Mortimer Ramsey - Sam Rockwell (!!)
Paolo - Pedro Pascal (that idiot that picks a fight with The Mountain in GOT)
Jessamine Kaldwin - April Stewart (Cartman's Mum)
Breanna Ashworth - Melendy Britt (She-Ra !!!)
My new pendant arrived!
...just sitting here waiting for the supernatural powers to kick in...
...any time now...
What's the pendant made of?
And I totally missed Corvo being Garret. Thief 4 was such a whiff that I've been trying to forget it ever since, and even though I loved thief 1-3 it's been an awful long time since I played them. You could easily make a Thief game out of Dishonored's engine, just make the focus on loot and heists. You already have a crossbow so things like water arrows aren't that far off. The hardest part would be the lighting and stealth aspects of the game.
One thing Dishonored doesn't quite do to the same degree as Thief is hiding loot. Loot objects are big and obvious (and shiny), and even when they are hidden well the player is able to see through walls. Thief on the other hand had all sorts of fun with hiding loot in strange places. You had obvious loot like golden candlesticks and coins scattered on tables, but there were also gold nuggets at the bottom of rivers and diamond drill bits. One one occasion this brick fireplace had a bit of mortar missing from one corner and a couple of rings were hidden inside the gap. Though granted Thief 2 was made a long time ago in a different age, so to speak. I wonder if the average player nowadays would have the time and or patience for that kind of gameplay.
What's the pendant made of?
*shrug* Stainless steel I would assume. Certainly not bone splinters from the skeletal remains of a supernatural whale. Nope.
I feel a little bad for them making Vincent D'Onofrio read a line like "This is more exciting than any orgy I've ever been in".
In any event, just the last level remaining now. Mild spoilers for the one before:
So the Duke's Palace... once I got inside, that was the first level that I didn't bother trying to get all the bonecharms or runes. In fact, I didn't go after any. I'm largely fine with my current power set (Far Reach, Domino, and Dark Vision are all useful for a stealth run. Shadow Walk is not as useful as I had been hoping it'd be, as most situations I would use it I end up being too close or too visible to guards), so no need to collect any more runes. I just like doing it for completionism.
But hot damn, with all those random civilians scattered about and the security detail, I was glad to actually find a way in, let alone remaining hidden. So for the first time I played a part of the mission straight through... and managed to get a Ghost and Clean Hands in one level!
I was worried that by this far in the game Witches and Robots would be a lot more commonplace and annoying. I'm glad they haven't relied on that in order to increase the challenge, and instead seem much more focused on varied and interesting objectives. I still say that, ultimately, the game feels like more Dishonored, but they've definitely refined their technique with this game.
Finished this last night. Excellent game! I felt the ending was kind of weak in how basically it just... stopped. I remember the first wrapping things up better? Still, barely detracts from the rest of the game.
Nah, first one really just stopped abruptly as well. It had a bit more of a memorable end sequence and credits song though which probably helped...the end credit song for this one is...well, a little too 'folksy' for my tastes.
Is it possible to change the title of this thread to just Dishonored 2?
I'd be fine with Gravey adding it to the end, but I won't let him change it entirely.
It's a very good title, Gravey.
Anyone who changes the title of this thread will be met with teleporting vigilante justice.
Is it possible to change the title of this thread to just Dishonored 2?
But why?
Because the site search is bad enough at finding things that we don't need to make it harder using "Dishonored Too" instead of "Dishonored 2".
So I'm still rocking a 660 TI right now ( looking to upgrade next month). Is this too out of date to enjoy the game? I ask because Shadow Warrior 2 looked like such mush that I stopped playing it until I can upgrade my card to something... you know... not awful.
I was looking for a last of us thread yesterday on my phone and google and nothing came up, now I'm wondering if the thread name is like this. Mystery solved perhaps.
So why not change the thread name to this:
Look Who's Dishonored Too - Dishonored 2 Catch-All
It keeps the unique original name intact, but helps with searches.

You can blame that one on the search, unfortunately.
Dishonored Too: Electric Boogaloo 2, since the search doesn't work anyway.
I really love this thread title. For whatever its worth.
going back through a second time on a collectables / ghost run and it's really cool how many little side areas and things I missed first time around.
For instance - i was wracking my brain trying to figure out how to get to the basement of Hypatia's clinic...
...the only clue is the central lift having a button for 'basement' covered over and the name scratched out on the information plate. EVENTUALLY i figured out you can put the lift to the top floor, then sabotage the supports above it causing it to fall and crash through the wooden floor below, giving you access to the rune and a painting underneath (as well as some tiny snippets of background on a prominent character from the first game dearies!)
