Not sure. I got Silver or Gold on normal.
I have unlocked the weapons, armor, helmets, and the new attitudes.
Also, speaking of cosmetics, don’t forget our very own Kexx has incredible cosmetic mods, including a stupendous hair-do mod for female soldiers.
This new XCOM2 free DLC is like Firaxis telling me their crack now has flavor crystals for winter-fresh breath.

I’ve countered with Civ 6 which is the equivalent of hard core heroin I think. Not really sure it’s any better for addictiveness.
Any xbox one players with all dlc on here? There is one mp cheev and I want to knock it out:) Apparently you only get paired with people who have same content and I have all dlc installed. Will take all of 5 minutes:)
Friendly reminder that the new content will no longer be free as of next week.
I just wish that content came to consoles. Is it worth double dipping?
Apparently DLC was on sale again on GMG for Black Friday but I missed it again.
Hm. Maybe there will be a weekend sale.
Finished up the Legacy missions which were fun. It's a good end cap to a good game. And I need the memory back. Seriously XCom, 77 gigs? What in the world are you storing in there?

legitimately the only thing keeping me from reinstalling it for another playthrough. If I'm lucky I can scrape maybe 50 gig free at the moment (this laptop needs a serious clearout!)
not to mention I need to keep about 20 gig free at all times else photoshop has a hissy fit when i'm trying to do stuff.

Best use of this meme, ever.

About 5 gb of victory, 12 gb of bugs, and 60 gb of unrelenting pain.
12 gb of bugs
The preferred term is "Chryssalid". "Bugs" is a slur.
For the first time, I have started an Ironman run. Given that I have 65 saves just from my previous play-through, this will be a real challenge for me. Very much looking forward to it.
Given how buggy the game is, I'd highly recommend backing up your save file occasionally. I've lost a few ironman runs due to bugs.

Definitely this. The biggest bug I continue to experience is movement based bugs.
If you get a Chosen with “planewalker” or come across an Avatar and get this bug... yikes.
I'm on PS4, so I've never experienced a bug. Of course, that also means I didn't get all that cool free DLC recently. I have thought about double-dipping, but then I found that I could have a perfect experience on my laptop using PS4 remote play, so I think I'm set here.
I'm going on a work trip next week, and this will most likely be my down-time game while hanging out in the hotel.
I went and installed most of the same mods as Christopher Odd for his latest playthrough and enjoying the game immensely again. There's something about the way Xcom just works. I've tried Mutant Year Zero, Phantom Doctrine and they just don't capture the same essence as Xcom.
One mod I'm really enjoying is the one which allows Psi to be a new class that can be gained from Rookie level up. They level up normally like any other class. Benefit of this is they can also get the extra perks from spending Xcom points and benefit from the Combat intelligence. Feels more inclusive.
Also have laser weapons and coilguns and while they each do around the same damage, they each have different strengths so it's nice to have that variety in fitting out your squads.
Tkyl... if you're lurking and you have a way of talking to your marketing and merchandise team, if you've heard of the funko mystery minis (these are the fallout 4 ones) I would 100% buy these if they did an Xcom range. Please!!! I want those!!!
So I finally started this up. I am obsessed with it. Loving this game for sure.
It's soooo good. I've got 130 hours into the game, comprised of 1 completed campaign, a bunch of failed or abandoned ones, and I'm probably ~75% of the way through a campaign currently.
Also, after building my PC I found out that the Windows version of the game is way less buggy than the Mac version.
I don't know where I ranked the game on my year-end list when it came out, but at this point I consider it one of my favorite games of all time.

I assume you're playing on Xbox. X1S or X1X? Does it play okay? I ended up dropping it on PS4 because it was super choppy.
XBX enhanced. It looks and plays great, but apparently on XBS it is also choppy and slow to load.
Thanks!
I am currently in the middle of an Ironman campaign on PS4. I have not experienced any bugs or choppiness. It's a funny thing that with so many other games to play, I keep coming back to XCOM2. Something about that tactical loop of working the Avenger, planning the covert actions, choosing the research, and executing on missions just tickles my brain in the perfect way.

How's the ironman run coming? I know you said you used a lot of saves before so I'd be interested to hear how the transition goes for you. I like ironman a lot. It ratchets up the intensity for me.
Funny you should ask, I had a heck of a time over the weekend. One of my covert actions was ambushed, and in my previous runs, I would absolutely save scum to not lose an operative. In this Ironman run, I was committed. I did everything I possibly could to get my operatives out to the extraction point safely. Alas, it was not to be, and the Templar had to sacrifice himself in order to make sure the sharpshooter made it out safely. In this Ironman run, I have now lost 6 operatives, including a Reaper and a Templar. The added tension is absolutely making me enjoy this game even more.
Interestingly, my push to protect my operatives during this run has changed the way I have prioritized research. I'm really focusing on armor upgrades, and have not yet gotten into plasma weaponry. I've also recruited a lot more troops this run and find myself playing with many different squads. In previous runs, I basically had an "A" squad and a "B" squad. But in this run, while I'm preventing soldier's death, I find I'm getting a lot more guys injured who need time to mend. Thus, many, many more troops and squad combinations. I also have not bothered to build the Psi Lab yet, which used to be one of my early priorities in previous plays.
I think one of the things I love about this game is just how flexible it seems to be with the different squad builds, loadouts, and different research orders. It literally make each playthrough different and unique.
That's really interesting! I've played Ironman (or enforced it upon myself at least) since I started Xcom EU. I'm glad to hear your enjoying it. I can imagine it going either way.
I still remember my first EU playthrough on what was called normal difficulty back then, I got my heavy killed by parking him near a truck. He was named for one of my best friends in college and I'd been keeping them all updated on the game. I wrote a story about his demise and they all got a big kick out of it. I will say it really enforces the lessons the game tries to teach you when the results are permanent. "Low cover is no cover" and "don't use vehicles (or gas pumps ffs) as cover" seem like fun advice until you lose somebody you care about and the lesson is driven home.
Good luck with the rest of your run!
Just a heads up for anyone interested that this game is one of the game club picks for March, but we're starting early. Feel free to play along, read along, or snark along. I know that I'm pretty much new to XCOM, so I'll make an ass of myself and kill all my characters. It'll be great.
You're in for a great ride, Clock. Best game ever and if you're coming into it fresh, then I envy you greatly.
