So will there or will there not be Bothans?

Ehhhh.... Bothans were instrumental in securing plans for the SECOND Death Star, not the FIRST.

My partner, who is an avowed Not Star Wars person, is very excited for this movie.

She literally squee'd and said "OHMYGODDONNIEYENOHMYGOD!"
"I... yes, Jen. Donnie Yen is in this movie."
"I didn't know this was going to be a good movie!"
"Star Wars are good movies!"
"Oh, honey. No. They really aren't."

Upon reflection, she can be very patronizing.

I like her already!

Also, Donnie Yen is awesome. And the Kylo Ren trailer reaction video on YouTube is pretty sweet.

I love that Disney seems to be trying to piss off the MRA manbabies who can't deal with a female lead. I love it. It's amazing.

EDIT: I meant to also type in that I also kind of hate it (thus the *headdesk* in the original) because I'm sooooooooooo sick of these dudes, but if Disney wasn't doing it, I'd still see it somewhere else... and there's always the hope that being exposed on something quite as mainstream as Star Wars will lead to some of it getting destroyed, but I have long since moved past that being a realistic expectation.

I don't follow media like this that much but are they all so stupid?

It doesn't even make the least bit of sense. Luke was part of a team too but marketing focused on him. (Heck the rest of the X-wing pilots didn't even get a medal!)

I mean, to be fair, like all but one of them died near or around the Peace Moon before it was vaporized... so I don't think many of them even had necks to put the medals around.

Heh.

They don't give medals to shape-shifters!

Yeah does Wedge really deserve a medal for bugging out?

I guess he got one for blowing up the second Death Star.

Technically, he just blew up the shielding unit - Lando and Nien Nunb did the final blow /pedant

It's a bit long, but that was awesome. I kinda feel like it was maybe meant as a bit of snark about the Star Trek: Beyond teaser, but it works well.

North tower, South tower. Seemed like a 50/50 split from the movie dialog.

Is that classical music?

Are you saying Lando COULD have destroyed the Death Star by shooting the generator with a fully functional power regulator? Because if that's what you're saying I can't even take you seriously right now.

Come on. We all know that there's no way a proton torpedo could generate enough heat to destroy that generator. Clearly there were thermal detonator charges planted in advance of the so-called 'rebel assault'.

Proton torpedoes can't melt cortosis beams!

Close. It's an oldie.

Hey man you should check starinfowars.com, they have some holovids of thermal exhaust port 7 that clearly show signs of controlled demolition.

THE BATTLE OF YAVIN WAS AN INSIDE JOB

Did you read the testimony of how the princess was rescued? There's no way that would have worked. Political fiction. Have you been on an Imperial base before?

You know who really deserved a medal? The A-Wing pilot who took out an entire Super Star Destroyer by himself!

You mean this guy?

That's ok, I didn't need to ever feel happiness again anyway.

That's the kinda stuff I'm hoping for from Rogue One, though I don't honestly expect it. I'd love to have a Star Wars movie that doesn't end well and allows that to linger.

Maybe prune your Twitter account a bit more? I only see MRA stuff when people bring it here to GWJ.

Here Are All the Coolest New Rogue One Toys That Were Revealed Today

No major story spoilers that I could see but I guess some people might find some so be warned.

Man, still can't get behind the design of that robot. I also don't like the look of the head on the AT-ACT. Something about them just feels off to me. The elongated limbs on the robot and the squishy face of the AT-ACT. Something about that sets off alerts in my brain. Was the original trilogy more ... proportional?

And, yes, I'm nitpicking.

I do really like the look of the Imperial forces.
