Random thing you wish existed right now

Pages

Sure, there's a thread for the random things we love, but what are the random things we wish we could be loving right now?

Nothing important or significant like world peace, just random.

A Bishi Bashi game for 360/PS3/Wii that uses the Rock Band drum kit (struck with your hands).

Endless Chicken Strips from Applebees...or anywhere, for that matter.

An electric 1 person vehicle that you can extend the range through cycling.

Depressing answer: A job for a nearly 30 year old university drop out that's easy, pays lots, and allows for flexible hours and frequent mental health days. Preferably before my current job expires at the end of May.

Less depressing answer: A lightweight but comfortable couch, possibly even one that assembles and disassembles easily, so I can get it up to my second floor apartment easily. Padded arms that can double as pillows are a must. I'm sure these exist, but I've yet to find one!

Lightsaber.

God.

Spoiler:

BOOM - P&C just entered the room.

Spoiler:

This is a joke post, will edit if people get cray cray.

I call that the beginnings of faith, Sally.

Also, I'd like to reiterate, Lightsaber.

FTL Space travel.

I'm looking for a device that allows for faster than instant transport. Basically, I want to be able to arrive before I leave.

I guess I'm describing a vortex manipulator.

Burger cannon.

You mean a bicycle?

Teleportation. I want sushi for lunch, in Japan, then I want to ski in Chile this afternoon!

Or...

Spring.

Anti-gravity propulsion
space elevator
warp bubble technology
High speed rail (from SF to LA or widespread across US)
self driving cars
football in LA

Spoiler:

^ hahahahaha ^

AMD's next generation of gpus
directx 12
World of Starcraft
Mechcommander 3
fantasy or steampunk Mechcommander
Diablo 3's next expansion
Dan Snyder selling the Redskins/Braves
getting cast in a show

Panacea oh nothing important or significant, hmm.

A world in which work was optional rather than mandatory. damn it, umm

Oh, I know! A successful version of SWTOR that didn't need to resort to excessive MT paywalls.

Very cool but ~$6k? No thanks. A $800 50cc scooter will blow the doors off that performance. (aside from the est. 1800 mpg vs 100 mpg)
Razor has numerous electric scooters (kid up to 120 lbs) with similar performance for $300-600. They even have an electric quad for $400. Sure they don't have the large canopy, solar cells and bicycle crank recharging but does that justify the 10-20x cost?

edit: even Sears is selling electric bicycles for $500.

Jetpack paintball.

The technology exists, we just need to market it.

Oohh...that sounds awesome and dangerous. FWIW, they do have laser-tag air combat (Air Combat USA) that you can do for a whole lot of money.

I want my own mech. It would make commuting so much more fun.

Iron man style power armor. It doesn't have to fly or have repulsors but something with slightly more functionality and more encompassing than current super soldier tech. (although those "launchers" that propel shells into windows or through walls and fires sideways are pretty awesome)

Fiber optic internet where I live.

Cure for celiac disease!

World peace.
The forgotten memories of hunger, poverty and preventable diseases.
A better alternative to capitalism and whatever this contorted form of government we have now.

Fiber optic internet where I live.

Amen... Google fiber at that

An open world action RPG with drop-in/drop-out co-op and destructible environments set in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe a couple centuries prior to the events of the TV series.

That the forums auto-favourited threads you create. Yeesh.

Master and Commander film sequels. How did this not become a franchise, but Pirates of the Caribbean, continually failing to live up to the first, did? Grand, sophisticated, exceptionally realistic, and no dearth of material to mine. Of all the travesties in the world, this is way way way way down there, but still noteworthy on a relatively small and particular scale.

Probably because Russel Crowe is a jerk, and fewer and fewer people have wanted to work with him.

If it makes you feel better, Noah could be a prequel to it, with A Knight's Tale following the doctor in a spin-off/sequel. I agree, though, more of Aubrey's stories should be movies.

I wish Russel Crowe was not a jerk.
