ReplacementCon 2015 Oct 1-4, Sheraton Detroit Metro Airport - The Salty Run-Back

I'd be willing to get in on this. You guys could shave my back.

RazorCon 2015

Cathadan and I are planning some fun stuff for team competition right now. If only you knew.

He's alive? That's good to know.

Jesus god no the humanity.

FYI, room doubles still not online but booked over phone with no issue.

Room available for anyone in need. Don't really care about money if someone is on limited budget etc. but I snore.

Or just be drunk when you go to sleep in Escher's room. It's what I did.

Well, it looks like Cube & I (also known as Hypercube) will be attending as well!

On another note, I will be bringing my now-larger collection of X-Wing Miniatures. I want to do a game in the Team Epic format (the largest possible tournament format) just to see how crazy that can be. There will be like 15-20 ships on either side, including larger ships like the Corellian Corvette & the newly created Imperial Raider (think a mini Star Destroyer kit-bash with Tie Interceptor wings bolted on).

If anyone's interested let Cube or I know and I'll probably asking people to play when I get the itch. Beforehand, I can always run tutorial games to get people used to the system.

Super fun, expect it to take a long time unless there are special rules I don't know about. A couple PAXs ago I did a teams 2v2 with each player fielding 100pts of ships and it took us around 5 hours just to get to a state where we were sure the rebels couldn't win. It was super fun but long. I would love to play some and can bring my ships as well if necessary. I stopped buying more after wave 2 but have a bunch of everything before that.

Yeah, it'll be long. I did a 1v1v1, 100 pt free for all (Rebels vs Imperials vs Sum & Villainy) and that took like 3 hours, so this might not be any different. Depending on interest, we could just go with standard Epic format (300 pts each) for something quicker.

Woo! Cube and Hypercube!

I also have the Armada base set and everything in wave 1.

So that's 2x each of the Victory Star Destroyer, Corvette, and Nebulon-B, 1xRebel Assault Frigate Mk 2, 1xDecimator Star Destroyer, and enough snubfighters to blot out about half the sky. I'm considering getting another set so the sky can be fully blotted out.

I'm completely in on that. I have the base game but have never played it.

So Cube & I have discussed how we could merge the two games into one cluster of a long game. Basically resolving capital ship engagements with Armada and fighter-fighter and fighter-capital ship engagements with X-Wing.

This probably would more than double the total length of the game, but we could do a few things to simplify. My initial thoughts on rules for this are:

Basics:
• Time should be split evenly between Armada and X-wing. Fighters should be more dangerous overall in this format simply because time invested in that half of the game.
• Fighter squads shall be limited to X-Wings and Tie Fighters for simplicity’s sake.
• No upgrades or named pilots for fighters or cap ships.
• Limit number of X-Wing turns per engagements to 2 turns (can be tuned mid game)
Ship Engagements:
• Cap ship – cap ship engagements
1. Will be resolved in Armada. Anything involving fighters should be resolved in X-Wing.

• Fighter – fighter engagements
1. Initial facing of the defending fighter squad should be away from the attacker.
2. Fighter health shall be tracked in the X-Wing format and tracked through some printouts.

• Cap ship – fighter engagements,
1. The ship quadrant facing the fighters should be the same as on the Armada board. Fighters will face towards when attacking and away when defending.
2. Cap ship health shall be tracked in the Armada format.
3. Damage taken by the capital ship in cap ship – fighter engagements shall be totaled and transferred (via ~1 Armada/3 X-Wing ratio) into the Armada format. At this point, defense tokens can be played. Critical hits are resolved as hits.

I look forward to you guys coming out, playing this one game over the course of three days, and then packing up and leaving!

I don't know what that means but I'm looking forward to seeing this.

The TL;DR is: Mash together two fairly quick games made for tournament play into one giant 3 hour clusterf**k of an epic Star Wars fleet engagement.

Repcon Registration Update (doot doot dootdoot dodoot)

The tepid news: We have 12 tickets sold to date
The great news: We hit our room revenue minimum! (this is our bigger financial commitment)

We're 4 tickets away from breaking even this year (or 29 tickets away from breaking even if we didn't have surplus from last year).

I will get my tickets bought. I am one of the lazy bastards that has procrastinated.

I'm getting a room and buying my tickets on the 1st.

Double woo!

Well, it'll take a day to unpack, then a day to play that 1 game, then another 2 days to pack up again...

>_>

<_<

I too need to buy a ticket but need to wait till after I have settled from my current move before I get free cash to get tickets. But plan on it as I am down for a room already.

Repcon: This ones for the homies.

I've done my share of xwing and would love to get in on this game. Put me in coach.

He lives.

Nice, It'll be fun.

For anyone else adventurous, we can do tutorial versions of both games to ease players into it. We even have multiple setups.

Doak said he wanted to have your children a week ago. NSMike can attest.
