Better Call Saul TV show (Breaking Bad spin-off with Bob Odenkirk)

This is far and away my favourite show right now.

I love that we are in sequel territory and I have no idea how the last few episodes will pan out.

I also love watching it "live", and having a week to soak in each episode instead of just being able to binge on to the next one -- I didn't watch Breaking Bad live, I binged it years later (actually after season 1 of Better Call Saul). The tension is thrilling!

This is my favorite show in quite a while and cosign everything you mentioned. I watched Breaking Bad live, however, and couldn't agree more. Many of those episodes left you on some kind of a cliffhanger, or at least a button to make you salivate for more. The anticipation between weeks was just unbearable. Not to mention a year-long wait between the first and second part of Season 5. The 6-week wait for this season's cliffhanger was brutal, but a year was unconscionable.

Regardless, I am heartbroken that we have only 2 episodes left, but boy are they hitting it out of the park. The last episode, "Breaking Bad", was just heart-breaking on a number of levels. I did not see them doubling down on Jimmy's scam addiction like they have. For a while I figured there might be a happy ending in store for him. But that seems less and less likely.

Yeah, the Walt//Jessie/Mike bits felt like more than fanservice — they remind us that Saul was a key element in bringing them all together, ultimately creating Heisenberg, with all the death and consequence that entailed.

The reminder comes just as Gene is making another fateful decision with his new crew.

Is it cool if I borrow this thread for a moment to wax poetic about Breaking Bad, which I just now finished binge-watching over the past 2 weeks?

Spoiler:

It was dope. And that last episode really hit me harder than it had any right to.

Carry on.

It certainly is!

In the mid-season break for Better Call Saul, I dipped back in to Breaking Bad, thinking "I just want to see the Saul Goodman bits, for context" and ended up rewatching seasons 2-5 all over again.

EDIT: This was when I was on my COVID iso-sickbed

Alright, two Saul episodes left….and then my wife and I will finally watch Breaking Bad. There’s some other movie or something? Is that chronologically before, during, or after BB?

After BB, but before the last 3 episodes of BCS, I think.

El Camino is after BB but doesn’t involve Jimmy / Saul.
