This week Lara Croft the Guardian of Light gets its somewhat overdue sequel, with my game of the week Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris.
The Tomb Raider franchise has been enjoying something of a rebirth over the past few years, and between 2013's Tomb Raider and 2010's (has it really been that long?!) Guardian of Light, there's good reason to hope the trend will continue.
While Temple of Osiris is intriguing, I've got the true next-gen sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider, down as one of my most anticipated games of next year.
Beyond Lara, Final Fantasy XIII-2 gets ported to the PC, Suikoden II gets a PSN release and Phoenix Wright gets bundled up into a trilogy all-in-one package.

It's A Wipe! has me intrigued.
It's an RPG where you play as the guild leader of an MMORPG. I imagine this is what it would look like if Bill Bellichick joined a fantasy football league.

Yes, you can cancel Darksiders, but only by using your Sony Golds. Which, while pretty good, aren't a patch on Zelda.

Ooh! The Director's Cut of Rock Boshers DX is finally coming out!
The Talos Principle is out? Wonder how it turned out. Serious Sam devs do puzzle game. (Steam reviews are damn positive.)
How did I live before digital distribution of old, cheap games?

Steam has a free demo for Talos Principle if you want to try it out.
RPS has an early review

I love coming by here on Mondays to learn about some quirky game I've not heard of. That sounds like it could be hilarious.
Teacher by day, gamer and musician by night, husband and father all the time.
The name was vaguely familiar, but I forgot what the game actually was, so I looked at the Steam page. The strange thing is that I'm not seeing any reviews, just this message: "There are no public reviews for this product in your language"

I see "Talos" and screenshots of castles. I assume this is where I start as a nordic chieftain and become a god.
Words... are a big deal.

Suikoden 2 is a day-1 purchase for me.
Talos Principle was supposed to be released on PS4 this year. I wonder if it was delayed?
Flyhunter Origins looks like it's not too bad. I might grab that this week.
Rock Boshers DX... I have the original one for PSMobile. I'm debating buying this still.
I would buy Xeodrifter. Unfortunately, the Steam version is Windows only, and due to my 3DS eShop policy, I can't buy another game until I finish one of the two Shantae games I've bought for 3ds. I hope it comes out on Vita, PS4, or Linux before I finish Shantae though, so I can just buy it there and not worry about filling one of my 2 digital game slots. (Why limit it to 2? To reduce my exposure to Nintendo's ill-conceived policy of DRM where you can't easily backup the saved games, and can't transfer purchases if your system is damaged beyond the point where the system transfer works, or is lost/stolen.)
Lucidian Chronicles? I might try that if it comes out for a system I have.
I've done this for real, here is a summary of my experience:
You’ve got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know… morons.
I was able to pre-order Temple of Osiris for $13 a while back on Green Man Gaming then forgot about it for a while. It's a pleasant surprise that it should be waiting to play on my Steam account when I get home.
If you have a PC with an SD card reader, you can backup your game saves and downloads to it with a simple copy/paste. You can also use the on-system save backup tool if all you're wanting to do is backup your save and delete the download.
If your 3DS is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair, you can contact Nintendo support about registering your Nintendo Network ID with a new device. Yes, it's a pain to have to call or email them instead of automatically activating it online, but it's still doable.
Professionally offended. Does not understand jokes. Needs a man to explain them to me.
