Thank you to everyone who played last night. I was in a pretty lousy mood all day yesterday-- personal stuff not worth going into here, plus the ordinary loneliness and isolation that almost everyone is feeling right now that so many of our usual social outlets have been canceled-- and having a bunch of happy, friendly voices in my ear really helped.
Although I wasn't there, just chiming in that this is what makes GWJ so great! Glad it upped your mood!
It was legit a good return to form after some post-patch depression. I think we hit a few really great strides. Happy to see you on, hbi!

Thanks to merphle's generosity, I am new Overwatch cannon fodder, preferring tanks and healers. I'm just going to blunder into games and discover the best champions for my playstyle, but please don't stint on the newbie advice!
Jump on in, we regularly get players most nights, more so the weekends. Be sure to hop in the discord channel.
Fresh meat for the grinder. Just hop on the discord like Wiz said and see if room is available. Play whatever and ask questions. It pretty relaxed and friendly. People usually start showing up on Discord around or after 8pm EST / 5PM PST.
Reminder: Halloween event starts tomorrow, so if you play today don't do any "arcade" mode games, since doing them later means event loot boxes.

On a side note, I'm trying to be a bit serious about playing better and improving my comp rank, but in low ranks I'm noticing that the biggest obstacle is smurfs. It's particularly bad if you queue as DPS, since they usually do too so you see even fewer of them on your own team. But either way they mean the outcome of the match is mostly fixed, so it's that many fewer matches you have any chance of affecting.
Bleh. By typing that out I've almost talked myself out of trying to rank up.

Yeah, if your location is right, that is tomorrow. Should be up sometimes today for most of us here. Looking forward to that D. Va skin (even if I never play her). Not crazy about Sigma's, but I need a few more spooky skins to complete my characters looks (since I probably won't get many more insect skins).
Ah, sorry. Tomorrow for me, anyway. Suffice to say there always tends to be a gap between when the weekly lootbox thing resets, and when events start, so mind the gap I guess.

You’re hopping in at a perfect time! The PvE events are a great way to get a general sense for how a character feels.
KarQ has some really good intro tips and tricks videos that are helpful!

Even better was Erik then plunked the hog into the well when whipshot came off of cooldown. I think it was the second or third time.
