Blizzard's Overwatch Catch-All

His barrier is far from the problem and is nowhere as effective as Sigma or Orisa's. His barrier most of the time is only beneficial to him and dies rather fast. These tweaks are helpful in allowing him to possibly dive in and out and survive where as it is now he jumps in and dies rather easily because his shield is down and jump is not off cool down. Gives him a better window to do Winston things effectively.

The changes I would like to see for him though are when he is Ragin' he is immune to all CC and also add 10-20 shock rounds to his ammo capacity.

Okay, my perfect record of being wrong in this thread remains intact.

To be honest I think Winston's biggest problem at the moment is that the characters he's strong against are weak, or anyway hardly ever played. But I'm also wrong about everything.

Not wrong just different opinions :).

That and characters that counter him, like Reaper, are everywhere. Trying to dive into a team that's running Reaper + Mei is a nightmare.

Ehhh, there's already a lot of 2 barrier games, you can't get 3 barriers, and his is still the weakest of the barrier tanks..

Symmetra says hi.

I'd really like to see her ult changed into a more offensive ult. I'd be super happy with something like Torb's old ult where she gets extra health and her beam goes to level 3 and stays there for the duration of the ult along with extra ammo. There are enough barriers as it. I've had games with 6 barriers up at once (two sym ults, orisia shields, and rein/sigma shields all at the same time. I'd also like them to have sym do more damage to shields to make her more of a true shield buster.

Hello Overwatch GWJ Community!

The Grand Finals of Season 2 are happening this Sunday between the San Francisco Shock and the Vancouver Titans in Philadelphia at 3:00 PM EST/12:00 PM PDT and I thought it would be fun to gather any of us together in the Overwatch League Discord Channel for a watch party! If we have appetite for it we could even spin up a separate Discord call with video for live reactions. I think it'll be a fun conclusion to the OWL season to get a bunch of us together watching at once. Even if you aren't going to watch and just want to hang out, feel free to stop by!

Last weekend I took a trip to Philadelphia with some friends to catch the Overwatch League Grand Finals. Despite the outcome and short game we had a lot of fun and my friends and I are planning to make it a yearly tradition to go to Grand Finals regardless of what teams are playing.

My favourite part of the weekend by far was meeting Overwatch fans all over the place, where ever we were in the city (the airport, downtown, near our AirBnB) we'd be bumping into people wearing Overwatch merch and we'd sometimes stop and talk about the game and the league. Along with the random new people we met, I also met up with Minotaar, Karnak, and Silv which was awesome considering how much time we've spent online together but never met in real life.

I was surprised on how much advertising Overwatch League was getting in the city with banners in downtown

There were fan meetups throughout the weekend and I got to meet a bunch of Overwatch League players (along with other people from the OW community) including Jjonak, last year's MVP and NYXL's Zenyatta main.

San Francisco Shock lifting the cup after the sweep. Shock fans outnumbered Titans fans 20 to 1 so after the game we expected to get heckled on our way out, so I saved half a bottle of water to throw onto people if they gave us sh*t. Unexpectedly everybody in the arena was super friendly and everybody just seemed to be happy to be surrounded by other Overwatch fans

Some of the swag I picked up during the weekend including a bunch of signed cards from various players, a neat scarf, and some thundersticks that I am too stupid to figure out how to blow up.

Topps (known for making baseball cards) now make OW League cards. The Topps booth would also take your picture and make a personal card which is so hilarious/stupid that I couldn't resist making one.

They need to dethatch, aerate, and seed the crap out of that grass. My lawn is bad but that grass would be embarrassing. Otherise it looks like you had a great time. I love the rookie card.

If you had as many people trampling over that patch before and after every event at the Wells Fargo Center (and likely non-event days as well), yours would have the same look! Actually amazed there is any grass at all, though most of the green is probably weeds.

Also, agree on the rookie card, though I want an Axel action shot!

The grass fears Canadians. Duh.

Yeehaw, climbed out of silver in all roles!

IMAGE(https://i.imgur.com/7EsmtBf.png)

Basically queued for whatever role was lowest. I really struggled climbing with support. That's the one that felt like I had the least impact to my team winning, regardless how well I did in my role. I had games where I was healing and enabling my ass off that we still lost, I had games where I did middling and we won. Most of my tank and damage games it felt like if I was off we lost and if I was on we won. That may just be a wrong impression -- or I may just be a weaker healer than tank/dps -- but that was how it felt.

I know in terms of game sense I still am poor at hero picking. I mean, I have my "pool" but there are some situations where I just don't know how to affect things with my pick. I can tell when I'm not getting value out of my pick and adjust at least most of the time, but an "ideal" pick to complement my team and counter their team is often hard.

Mei is the new face of the Hong Kong Revolution

IMAGE(https://s3.dexerto.com/thumbnails/_thumbnailLarge/mei-blizzard.jpg)

It's to try to get back at Blizz for the Blitzchung mess, but I feel like if any action comes from Blizzard on this it will be just taking Mei out of the game.

I made sure to mention Hong Kong after every round last night, and will probably continue to do so for quite some time.

When your tank queues are always 2 minutes, and your dps queues are always 10 minutes, you'd think that would mean you wouldn't wind up tanking for the same two dps players several games in a row.

Good for you! I struggle with getting paired with solid teams as a tank. DPS is my best field, even though I feel like I play task more than anything.

I think role queue has generally turned out okay as far as match quality, but the variance in queue times is pretty grim. They really ought to put in some kind of system where playing several matches as tank/heals gets you a shorter queue on your next match as dps.

If nothing else, for the streamers. Every time I open an Overwatch stream they're either watching youtube or playing some other game, because as dps mains they have 5-10 minutes of dead time to fill between every match.

So they play tank and get to que in less than a minute. Easy solution. I have no sympathy for dps with long que times. The solution isn't some reward for playing tank. The solution is to make playing tank more rewarding. The rewards for tanking are worthless after a while. I've got about 100 loot boxes that I haven't opened just from playing tank in comp.

I can't speak to queueing solo, but even with both tank slots filled our group queues are averaging 4-5 minutes it feels like, and having to requeue between every round it is a PITA. I miss being able to do mirror matches on rounds. It feels like a lot of nights I just do a string of defenses, but never get to attack.

It's not an us vs. them thing. People aren't tanks or dps, most players like to play a mix of roles and the game would be better if one could balance that against how much time one spends waiting.

OTOH a lower hanging fruit would be, when a match gets canceled because someone DCs in the first few seconds, the game could kick everyone back into the queue instead of back to the start screen. Ten minute queues are grim enough, but two of them back to back turns into a game with more downtime than uptime. If I wanted that I'd go play GTA5 Online

I think there are fewer people grouping than there used to be. One of the reasons to group before was you could lock roles and force 2-2-2. So a dps could always play dps. Now, they can do that without find a team. Consequently, there are fewer groups in the game.
