Blizzard's Overwatch Catch-All

Axel - the art in your post is awesome (on top of the rest looking like a great time)! Did you happen to grab artist names / links to sites?

reward swapping instead of punishing it (Did you swap characters? No ult for you. )

While I agree on the general thrust of your post-- Blizzard needs to work on rewarding team play instead of rewarding one-tricking-- letting you keep your ult progress between swaps would be a real can of worms, balance-wise. What happens when someone picks a character with a quick-charging ultimate like Sombra, charges their ult, swaps to a character with a powerful but slow-charging ult like Zarya, drops ult, and then swaps back ad nauseam?

Have it percentage based. If it takes %50 shorter to charge one characters ult then when you switch to a fast cooldown you get %66 of the charge and vice versa.

I don't think it would be difficult to calculate how long each ult takes to charge and pro-rate it. Blizzard already balances ults based on how powerful they are. They already know that Sombra's ult charges much faster than Zarya's I doubt it's too hard to put numbers on it and pro-rate based on that. There are always ways to game the system. That's a lot of the reason we have one-trick sombra's.

If you listen to RaggTagg (and if you don't), he just put up a great video on the Fuey ban. I agree with every word of it. Note that RaggTagg swears a lot and loudly. I'll link to the video rather than put it in directly because he really does swear a lot.

Yep, spot on there. A ban for failing to contribute is fair enough, but disagreeing with your team about how best to contribute is not the same thing.

The big problem with letting Fuey's ban stand is that it will inevitably change all the millions of "Widow change please" comments into "Widow change or I report". Boom, and just like that the game gets that much more toxic.

How accurate is Master Overwatch? It's telling me I have a 100% win rate with Doomfist. With 43 games played. That can't be right?

Edit: Never mind. Something is wrong. It's giving me 100% across every character.

These punks releasing Moira today or not?!!

Not? Maybe the 17th with the free weekend...

I feel like that's the worst possible time to shift the meta.

Given how long other heroes have sat on the PTR I feel like we won't see her on the live servers until after US Thanksgiving

Moira looks fun to play although I still think as a holistic character design (aesthetic combined with gameplay abilities) she's not great.

I'm all for additional testing if that's the case.

I for one welcome the new six-support meta, and would remind everyone as a support main, I will be helpful in achieving victories.

Also, given that they released a prepatch yesterday, she could very well be released today.

The free weekend calls out playing 26 characters and without Moira there is only 25. So I would assume she will be live for the free weekend.

Our local gaming group is having a LAN party on the weekend of the free event for Overwatch. I've never played Overwatch so I'm asking you experts if you think it would be a good game to play for our event?

You are asking THIS lot THAT question? Kinda like asking the Uruk-hai if adding meat to the menu is a good idea!

My answer is yes, it would be a great game. Good custom game options to just play within the group, max of 12 at a time (6 vs 6 or FFA Death match). It helps if someone is familiar with the game and the custom settings if you go that route. If you do it, let us know how it went.

Plus, we may add another GWJ OWer to the collection pile.

Only thing is if you are a true LAN party. I think OW requires a net connection and enough to handle the load to the server.

Everyone would need internet and a B.net account to play. Cold be fun, but the setup of custom games could take some time to get going if doing it with no familiarity and also 12 people max at once. Would recommend to give it a go especially if everyone had it pre-loaded.

No Moira as 5:46 cst. I liked it better when OW was on the Tuesday patch schedule!

*respect knuckles*

I would love to just hit QP as a group this weekend and run 6 support for a few rounds and see what hilarity ensues.

Oh, so that's why my SSD went from 79% to 81% last night (and to 83% today).

I'm just going to assume Blizzard didn't want their servers melting between launching a new Hero and Starcraft 2 going F2P tonight.

Smart move on their part then if this is the case.

I've been watching it for a while now and haven't pulled the trigger for some reason. We are setting up at a house with a good fiber and I think everyone has it pre-loaded now through battlenet. Thanks for the info guys and sounds like we're going to have a lot of fun! Battlefield 3 and BF: BC2 Vietnam are out backups so we should be good.

Oh god, just play BC2. That was such a fun lan game.

(play Overwatch)

BF:BC2 is definitely my favorite from the Battlefield series. The maps were all excellent. Last night in Overwatch we were talking about how I hate Hanamura, and lots of people hate Anubis, and some hate Volskya. There was literally not a single map in BC2 I didn't like.

Also discussed last night. My new Tesoro Gram, a Low-Profile Mechanical Keyboard! I hate traditional mechanical keyboards. I write all morning, I code in the afternoon, and I game at night. I use my keyboard a lot and I don't want it to offer any resistance or clickyness. My first computer was an IBM XT (effectively the 186), so I get the nostalgia for the old Cherry MX switches. But f*ck that. I want my fingers to fly across a keyboard with ease. This keyboard has short low-profile keys, and low-profile "agile" switches that are similar to Cherry MX Red.

I've used my husbands Corsair Strafe (Cherry MX Red) keyboard with the big clunky standard mechanical keys. Compared to that, this is like typing on silk.

It took me 2 hours to do the math and program each key's RGB LED, but I ended up with an awesome Outrun gradient!

Plus you have those two blue lasers that will disintegrate any filthy lurkers peering over your right shoulder.

I thought those were spotlights that shoot up into the sky to show people where the action is.

Why can't they be both?

This is an actual image from the keyboard LEDs

Looks like the "team colored" version of Moira's ult aiming at a Pharmercy.

LOL! I have no idea why the camera picked up those lights like that. But I'm glad it did because that looks awesome!
