She-Hulk is continuing to meet my expectations. No complaints and enjoying the ride, wherever it ends up going.
I watched Thor: Love & Thunder as it has finally made its way to D+. On the whole it was...fine. I mean, it wasn't great, but it also wasn't bad. It had a lot of good parts, but I felt it really didn't do justice to the parts of the movie i wanted to see most.
The story it did best with was Thor rediscovering himself and his purpose again, but it came at the expense of Jane's Mighty Thor & Gorr, both of whom deserved a lot more time and examination than they got. I much preferred Gorr's story in the comics, this version felt like it was butchered (heh) so they could apparently bring a version of Singularity into the MCU, which isn't a bad thing by itself, it's just sad it came at the expense of the God Butcher story.
Prediction I found online that makes sense:
Madesynn is
Mephisto
That ain't funny.

But the Y is where you'd expect it.
It's very much a typical first Marvel trailer; recognizable faces, unexplained action, dramatic statements, and spooooky music.
And, per usual, I'm here for it.
Pretend I haven't watched anything since Endgame, except Far From Home, Loki, and about half of Wandavision. What (in theory) do I need to do to catch up, bare minimum?

I would say nothing is mandatory but, everything adds to the texture of future MCU movies/shows in some small way.
Very minor spoilers…
A lot of the D+ shows have stealth introduced some of the Young Avengers and The Thuderbolts. You’d miss She-Hulk, Ms Marvel, and Shang Chi’s origins as well as Falcon’s next gig. You’d miss Scarlett Witches’ origin from WandaVision as well as her development in Multiverse of Madness. And you may be confused if The Vision ever shows up again. You’d miss some very small exposition about the multiverse in Dr Strange as well as the introduction of America Chavez. Lastly, you’d miss why Thor is no longer hanging out with The Guardians as well as the introduction of his new companion.
I’m sure there’s more, but one of the great things about the MCU is you really didn’t need to have seen a lot of the previous stuff.

20 seconds in, the gaming chairs gave a chuckle. And it was good to see some of those familiar faces included in more MCU projects.

Wait! You didn't mention the Eternals! They added... umm... and the events in those films have have an impact in... umm... and they were referenced in... umm... well, you'd miss the introduction of a couple, non-Eternal characters, I guess.
More Maria Hill? Let me stop you right there. I'm in.
Maybe she'll even go to a mall in a scene.
Val, US Agent, Ghost, Taskmaster, Red Guardian, Yelena Bulova, and Bucky.
More Red Guardian and Yelena? Absolutely.

I wanted a Maria Hill/Sharon Carter led series until they screwed up Sharon Carter with a heel turn.
Yeah if you didn't watch the eternals you will never know why there is a giant statue in New York holding a torch.

Off-topic, this is the Marvel thread and that was obviously a DCEU movie.

Being that Eternals featured lots of really pretty camera work with endless exposition, wasn't it really more of a documentary? Like Mutual of Omaha's Animal Kingdom, but with occasional eye beams.
Jen was right, the tag on that last one was pretty fun. Although, that new character looked a lot like Elizabeth Olsen and it threw me at first.

Same. Not while she's all made up, but when she was in the snuggle (or whatever they're called) I thought for a second that Wong was chilling with Wanda somehow.

The Wong Room?
Did you know that Multiverse of Madness was originally going to be a Wong solo movie? They had to change the main character to Doctor Strange when they realized it wouldn't make sense for Wong to dreamwalk into the corpse of a dead alternate universe Wong.
After all, two Wongs don't make a wight.
Made use of that Disney+ $2 so watched Thor: Love & Thunder. A co-worker warned me it was a kids movie and gawd that was bad. I get they keep things a little lite for the Thor movies but that was cotton candy lite. I don't know if I could watch that one ever again.
I'm hoping this new round of Marvel movies gets back on track. So far the Endgame follow-ups have been mediocre with the exception of No Way Home and Shang-Chi. TV shows have been mostly good to great though so that's keeping the interest alive.
I have seen a lot of people say that about the new Thor, but I watched it last night and really enjoyed it. Maybe it is because my expectations were so low going in.
Kids movie definitely fits, but in the same weird way Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome and Robocop 3 were kids movies. I agree that the movie is far too light for the stories being told. Jane's dying from cancer and Gorr is trying to kill every god in existence (most of whom are petty assholes who deserve it), but here's a scene with dozens of kids empowered by Thor's lightning killing shadow monsters. One of them has a stuffed bunny for her weapon. Enjoy!

I would concur with this - I really quite enjoyed it. Yes it was a little too childish and parts of it really didn't make a lot of sense, but that's an accusation that can be made of many Marvel movies. It certainly knew not to take itself too seriously.
Anyone wanting the comics the thor movie is inspired by you'll want Thor: God Bucher TPB and Thor: God Bomb TPB. Also The Mighty Thor run of thor.
ouph... that was brutal
and accurate
She-hulk was quite funny. Enjoyed it quite a bit

I can’t tell if the bad cgi is part of the joke but it’s kind of funny.
