Marvel Media (Spoiler Thread)

Shocking no one:

If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil. Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.

As far as confirmations go, that was completely worthless. IF we see him, it'll be Cox, fine, but zero details on where, how, or when and no confirmation on if either.

For me the confirmation it will be Cox is the winner and not the other details...

That's just confirming that he doesn't want to recast the character, not that the character will actually be used again.

Which i'm ok with

I think it's more important when Fiege is saying that. I think by the end of this year we're going to see Charlie Cox in the MCU. Either he shows up in Hawkeye or Spider-Man. Both seem pretty logical possibilities.

There's more smoke around the Spider-Man possibility. Probably makes more sense story wise as well. But I wouldn't be surprised to see Matt Murdock in either one. Not in costume, but as Matt the lawyer.

Also, it's not that they don't want to recast the character. If they've said that if Daredevil shows up it will be Cox, they've got ink on a contract. You don't say that then have Cox unavailable, potentially sidelining a character. Or if you say that without signatures you've just given Cox more leverage for negotiations.

Lawyer Matt vs Lawyer Shehulk I bet as a cameo.

I'd watch that crime drama. No fists, just lawyering.

Watched the first three episodes of Hawkeye and couldn't help but think that Hailey Steinfeld's crack on Imagine Dragons was a wink at her costars in Arcane.

Before the initially announced D+ series started coming out, who had Hawkeye as one of the most entertaining?

I thought Falcon and Winter Soldier was going to be my favorite. It's been my least favorite. (I didn't hate it, just didn't hit on the things I wanted out of that show, mainly the humor in the character interactions between Sam and Bucky).

I was hopeful of Hawkeye just because the comic run is so great, but there hadn't been a whole lot in Renner's performance previously that made me really think they'd be able to pull it off this well. He'd been pretty bland and wooden in the movies, but is definitely pulling off the "too old for this sh*t" thing well here.

Same feeling with Falcon and Winter Soldier, which is the one show I have no interest in re-watching. Enjoyed it, but felt pretty jumbled. WandaVision was fabulous, Loki felt like it was setting up the entire next few phases of the MCU, and Hawkeye's a nice, amusing, street level bit of buddy cop fun.

Short featurette on Alaqua Cox (Maya Lopez in Hawkeye). This was actually her first acting role. Great role model for for disabled visibility. I knew she was actually deaf but I didn't know the prosthetic leg is also real.

The parts of Falcon and WS soldier that I loved most overlap with Hawkeye. The character relationships and banter are so good.

In hindsight, Wandavision was good but relied too much on the next mystery and I don't think it nailed it in a bunch of places. I loved V vs V and the W vs A super battle, but the story beats.. eh.

Hawkeye seema to be the first series that doesn't seem overly affected by covid issues. Loki was mostly so far from the normal world and heavily cgi, so it didn't matter as much.

At first I thought the 'confirmation' was pretty worthless, but I've come around to this more. Feige has no reason to mention Daredevil or Charlie Cox unless there's something bubbling.

If he's not in Spider-Man my prediction is he'll be in She Hulk as a lawyer. I doubt Cap will be on trial, but there's fertile ground for courtroom drama in the MCU.*

*Haven't started on Hawkeye yet, so I'm not sure if there's a solid case for his introduction there.

Man, how cool would a six-episode courtroom drama about John Walker being court-martialed for publicly executing a surrendered enemy combatant be, with Matt Murdock vs. Jennifer Walters as the defense and prosecution?

I’m hoping the trial involves…[She Hulk casting spoilers]

Spoiler:

Emil Blonsky/Abomination. Tim Roth is confirmed to be returning.

He's the baliff.

I am starting to see spoilers about the new Spider-Man movie, including on movie theatre websites.

If you don't want to get spoiled like I did, you want to go on blackout now.

Season Episode 5 of Hawkeye

Spoiler:

The interaction and chemistry between Kate and Yelena is amazing.

And Clint talking to Natasha was real, real powerful. A real sense of closure.

Also, KINGPIN!!

So are we going to get Laura Barton's backstory before the end of this show/season? She's obviously the woman in the chair (to steal a Ned phrase) for Clint.

There is only 1 episode left, so I don't think so.

Am I glad I watched Black Widow last night before tonight's Hawkeye, otherwise the prologue might have gone right over my head.
