I have one PS4 controller I can bring.

Great!

I couldn't resist buying a white controller today, so don't worry about bringing one, jonnypolite, since there's a chance you might not make it.

Sidenote: The white controller looks so good. It's probably the best looking controller since the silver gamecube controller.

On our way!

On my way too, running a little late:(

Had a great time, really nice to meet you all and see Tekman again, will try to make it for the entire time next month:)

I'm glad you could make it! Given how the last couple times have gone, I'm thinking we can decide on a couple games beforehand so that we can post some how-to videos. That should hopefully make everything a bit more fun. Even 2-4 hours isn't a whole lot of time for board games.

So just out of curiosity, is anyone in the area looking to do some role-playing games? I started listening to a podcast of a bunch of improv comedians playing role-playing games, and I've been a little sucked in. So far, I've bought dice, the D&D 5e player's guide, Star Wars Edge of the Empire, and kickstarted Feng Shui 2. I was in a D&D group through Meetup.com for all of 2 sessions before it disintegrated. I figure GWJ might be slightly more fertile nerd grounds.

I completely got sucked into Harmontown and the "D&D" sessions these last few months after the documentary came out. Spenceeeeer!

I would totally be down for joining in a somewhat serious game. It is one of my dreams to actually play D&D in my lifetime. Just keep me posted, and I'll meet up wherever.

*RAY OF FROST!!!*

I'm in the same boat. I've always wanted to play, but never really had a good opportunity. I don't know how often groups generally meet for D&D, but if it was something like once a month, that'd probably be reasonably simple to do.

The next meetup is this Saturday. Is anyone going to be able to make it? If it's just a couple people I do have Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D World which are pretty fun to play coop. I only have one extra controller, though.

If enough people can come for board games, let me know what you want to play so that I can hunt down some YouTube tutorial videos to post.

I'm going to try and make this work. My wife will be out of town so I just have to make sure my kids are all set for a few hours.
Are you still thinking 1-5pm ish?

Yes. I have a Capella Romana concert thing (Hurray!) to go to in the evening, so we'll want to wrap things up by 5.

Oh! I completely lost track of the date. We should be around on Saturday. I have a couple new board games I'd like to try: Survive: Escape from Atlantis and Colt Express.

I forgot I'd posted the RPG thing in this. Only a few takers, huh?

Not sure about a meetup this weekend. I think my wife has plans.

Wish i could make it, but i'm working nights this week, so i'm sleeping days:(

Tentative maybe. Have not consulted with the rest of the family yet. Would like to make it though!

I feel a little lame for not making it out yet since I moved, but I think I'm going to have to miss again. I'll try to set aside the March meetup now.

Those both sound great. With you two and two maybes we should hopefully have at least four people, so that'll work well. Here are the tutorial videos that I found and will watch when I get a chance:

This one's a review. I imagine it shows how to play it roughly:

Tekman was going to come down from Washington but we decided against it earlier this week because of the small numbers and I have a lot to do over the weekend. Hopefully, he'll make the one in March and we'll have more people around for that one. He's got Fiasco, and I would really like to play that.

It looks like I will be able to make it. Can I bring anything else?

You could bring a Wii U controller if you have one for possible Mario Kart. Other than that, I think we're covered.

I'm bailing, not going to leave my wife, who is feeling way under the weather, home alone with an overcharged 3 y/o. Hopefully next time.

Would love to hear about Survive.

Well, that's a good reason if I ever heard one.

We're going to grab some lunch and then we'll be on our way.

Cool! See you guys in a bit.

Likewise. Wrapping up lunch and then I'll head over.

Thanks again for hosting. That was a lot of fun!

It was really nice to hang out with all of you this afternoon. I also had a great time, and as far as hosting continues to go, it's far easier for me than traveling somewhere else, so I'm more than happy to keep doing so.

A small group was great for a change, but I hope more of you can make it in March!

Sorry I missed it again, my daughter had a basketball tournament today. What did you think of survive? It's a big it with my family.

Thanks for having us! I really liked both games. Looking forward to playing them again.

Hey, I know a couple of you had expressed interest in an RPG group. There's a Portland Meetup group that does RPGs and boardgames. They're doing a general get together thing next weekend. Figured I'd FYI y'all about it:
