Blade and Soul We Need this Game in the States

I am skipping this one Spy. I did the beta and ended up not liking it.

The summoner class ended up my favorite which was the class I least thought I would like. Nice thing as F2P it is low friction to join.

BDO is a newer game. B&S is 5 years old. There are a lot of differences between the games really.

Played around for a bit tonight, got to level...10? Something like that. Cerulean Faction and the same server as you all so maybe we can group up some this weekend.

My guild's already chosen the Poharan server, so I'll be there.

If anyone wants to join us, you're welcome. It's basically the core group from the Skyforge guild some of you joined with me.

The SkyForge group is a nice bunch!

Java, we stopped playing, SkyForge was getting too boring, instanced stuff too much as well.

We switch to Tera, it's an OK game mechanics wise. It's from Korea, so fan service as well for some stuff... But all the game is free...

How is that game compare to Tera? Is it actionny like it? Or combat are stickies like wow? And is it again instanced stuffs, or more open world-esque?

I stopped Skyforge, too, around Thanksgiving. I had a lot of fun for about five months, but eventually the grind and pay to win aspects wore me down.

I've not played Tera myself.

Yeah, I'd love to do that. I'm logging in now for the first time. I won't be on much tomorrow, but I should be on a lot Sunday. My first character is Serra Lotusflower; friend me up if you want to join my guild or just hook up or whatever.

On release, will it be F2P ? Or you need to pay to play the game ?

It will be F2P with an optional sub model like a lot of the other F2P MMOs

In case anyone missed my edit, my guild went with the Crimson faction.

that was full when i tried to join, but now it costs 10+ silver to swap

I dont know what it is with this game, but I am having nothing but trouble getting it installed.

I bought into BDO - just would like to play it at some point

Aww, that stinks. That seems like kind of a lot of silver. How high are you? Might be easier to start over if you want to join the guild I'm in.

Well, if anyone on Poharan who's at least level 5 and in the Crimson faction wants to join the guild I'm in, feel free to message me in game at Amara Lotusflower or Serra Lotusflower.

Level 20 atm.

I leveled one of my free slots and crimson is full still so no go there.

It goes back and forth. If it's full you can wait if you want and try later. I did that on an alt today, Crimson was full then later there was room.

I had no problem getting Crimson with all of my toons. I am actually enjoying this a lot more than I thought. The Assassin is a lot of fun to play. I'm not a big anime guy, but I might have to check some out after this. What classes are most folks playing? I have an alt for most already, but Assassin seems to stand out for me.

Ditto Spy, I'm enjoying this more than I thought I would. I got to level 6 yesterday, playing an assassin, and absolutely love the combat. At least for the assassin, it's very fast paced and twitchy -- like a fighting game, with combos and counter attacks, etc. Awesome against PVE, but I'm afraid I'll get wrecked in PVP. What little I read about the game, it seems that eventually the game becomes very PVP-centric. At what level does that start to happen?

I sent friend request to your chars Java. I'm SaraSofia in-game.

Anyone playing this with a gamepad? The combat feels made for a controller.

Edit to add: I was able to get in to Crimson after a few visits to the guild recruiter.

How bad is the fanservice. A lot of boob shaking or maybe something more?

Keep in mind I have 2 teenage daughters so that influences my game choices a lot right now. With the disclosure out of the way.....

There is the traditional boob shaking, panty shots, and always wearing high heels.

For me though it was more of the costumes.

I just felt odd with a high heel and thong lingerie woman avatar fighting along side my guy especially so with my kids about. I get I may be in the minority but the game is free so easy to check it out and see for yourself if it is an issue for you or not.

I have a young daughter too, who in the past has played some MMO's with me. Not this one. It's so over the top that I almost didn't start this up for this reason alone. I hope BDO isn't as bad in this regard.

My Assassin is Grayticus, my Force Master is Attigray, my Blademaster is Spynavyus, my Summoner is Attison, my Kung Fu Master is Wyllamnas. Im on Poharan which I believe is where most of us are, correct?

I was finally able to get into Crimson on my alts, but my main is high enough I don't want to relevel him and can't afford the switch yet.

Yes Spy most are on Poharan.

I've gotten some friend requests, although I haven't been on a lot due to real world commitments.

If anyone wants invited to the guild I'm in, you can either message me at Amara Lotusflower or if I'm not on message Emmademic and tell her Javamancer referred you. We also have a Discord app set up at https://discordapp.com/channels/1257....

So far I'm enjoying the game a lot more than I thought I would. The combat is a lot of fun, definitely the most fun I've had this early in an MMO. The PVE world may be a thin wrapper around it, but it's serviceable and the fighting is so much fun I don't really care that the story is kind of bland.

I keep finding chests in caves and dungeons, but can't interact (open) with them. What's the deal?

Some of the cash shop costumes show off some extra cleavage, but nothing lingerie type stuff like shown here. At least nothing i've seen yet.

Yeah no lingerie yet but I did look at all the costumes in our shop and stuff online from other versions.

I also have to take NCSoft at their word that they have no intention of censoring the sexy.

They did change a couple quests since the Asian version has a panty raid as a quest that did not make the US launch.

That said I understand that the content of this game is not aimed at a 13 year old girl. That is cool but it something I have to consider.

I really wanted to like this game and followed it for a bit just ended up not being for me.

As I said the game is F2P so it is easy to checkout.

I think the end game PVP is really what makes this game because at that point it is more like a fighting game which is the strongest point of this game.

The game is fun, but I got pulled into D3 again.

That makes two of us. :S

D3, as in Diablo3? How can a fun game bring to another game? o.O

I think my issue is I can't find a class I love. I am too used to playing a Pally type class and there is nothing close. I also haven't had much luck doing dungeon runs. I can't seem to find any rings, necklaces, or earrings to level my accessories. The few times I saw them drop in Blackram, the guy kept bidding 10s for every one.

Ugh, queues now.
