I'm asking a favour, one goodjer to another.

Ok guys, this is shameless but can you all help me win a competition to win a family photo shoot and like the picture on Facebook in the link below. Well, it's really for my wife and it would mean so much to her.

If that isn't enough, let me explain why you should help me win it for her.

I'm in no position to pay for a shoot like this for a multitude of reasons. As of now we only just make it to the end of the month. For example, I've gone a full year without a filling in one of my teeth after it fell out, things are just that tight for us. We haven't gone out socialising as we can't pay for babysitters and our family support is pretty much non-existent. Holiday's are a pipe dream. My wife has been the single carer for our three kids for the last 15 months solid with very little much downtime or the prospect of it. The best we managed recently was a night away in a hotel with all the kids but the room was paid for by somebody else close to my wife.

Prior to that, I stayed at home as my wife was the better earner. It broke her heart everyday to leave her children to go to work, the boys weren't happy about it either, so we've swapped when our daughter arrived. It was tight on what she earned, it's been tough on mine. However, that all said, I can say with certainty that she wouldn't swap back. It's just not worth it to her.

So, how about you help me give her something to look forward too? All she wants in a nice photo of our family that she can be proud of. It's small, I know, but as I said above, you've no idea how much it would mean.

Oh, and if you are wondering, I deleted my Facebook profile years ago. Also we were in the lead as of this morning at 35 but another picture went from 25 to 75 since then so I'm assuming they are doing the same as me. Alls fair and all that

I've given you the sob story and ethical clearance so like the picture already! It's clearly the best picture anyway.

Update: Thanks to all that clicked and like. It is very much appreciated. The gap has closed considerably but we don't know what tricks our opponent has up their sleeves. We still need a few more clicks. Goodjers, We cannot allow a Facebook like gap.

Update 2: Seriously, how can you not like this?

Update 3:Right. It's on. She is getting in some serious numbers. Opening up a good lead on us now.

Update 4: Tell me you don't think this lot shouldn't be commited to celluloid

I mean, how many emotional hooks do you want?

And the competition ends at the end of the month. Not sure of exact time but I assume 1700 GMT.

Update 4: Confirmed that the competition ends at 1900 GMT/ 1400 EST / 1100 PST.

Edit -

Looks like there is a massive vote rigging going on!!

Demonstrably. Two wrongs do actually make a right after all.

Donesies. What a cute picture!

+1. or Done. Whichever is the right thing to say.

Voted for you.

What a lovely picture! Fingers crossed that this comes through for your family.

As they would say in Chicago, vote early and often!

ETA: about the teeth issues: what I did when I didn't have dental insurance was go to the nearby dental school for work that was much cheaper. If that happens to be available to you (and I hope it is), by all means use it. It's the highest quality dental work I've ever had done. It did take half the day, however.

Very cool pic. Liked.

Get that tooth fixed or at least looked at. It could cost you more in the end.

Is it that expensive just to have it removed?

Depending on the tooth. If it's one with four 'prongs' (technical term) they've got to get those out which can be tricky. Also the nerve can die in the tooth (happened to me) and then they have to remove the nerve and fill the entire tooth. Also, I guess you can have a gap, depending on where it is, but you might need a bridged replacement, which will cost a fair amount. Not that all this has happened to me you understand.

Liked for the Goodje!

Hey guys, thanks a million. You have my sincere gratitude. I'll have to think of something I can do to say thanks.

Actually I've had the work done only a little while ago when we had a little spare cash due to some extra work. However I did a little research and found the dental school attached to Trinity here in Dublin which does seem to do free work. In future, I will be hitting that up. Thanks concentric!

Edit: Thanks for the concern about the teeth, guys. Mine are just a mess at the back molars and wisdom teeth. I grind my teeth and I have a overbite which puts a huge amount of stress on the back ones. Fillings falling out are just a occupational hazard for me.

Three of my wisdom teeth completely broke apart, exposing the nerve. Had to get them all pulled. One of them I had to wait about five days before I could get removed and I couldn't take painkillers during that time. This was due to my past profession for very reasonable reasons. Just bad luck. The nerve died on the last day. I never want to experience pain like that again.

Liked the pic also, good luck!

Patently the best picture so I'm not asking you to do something against your better judgement.

Are you kidding me? As a working mom, I totally support this endeavor and your sob story (sic) totally won me over.

ETA: and I just took a look at the whole album, yours is the better pic anyhow.

Liked it too!
