NCAA14 - "Stan's League" - Celebrate Kush's New Addition edition

Pages

Let's get this league started.

I propose 3* and lower teams, Heisman difficulty (sliders?), two humans per conference at most (to keep things going), but we put our team picks on here so that the commish (either SnipeZ or myself) can make the bowl tie-ins such that we'll get human v. human bowls.

Let's aim for 72 hour turnarounds, longer for human v. human games, with some flexibility (but aiming to be faster than our other league).

Any feedback on this?

As long as human games are kept at a minimum, I'm on board. My schedule is not great for getting games in right now.

+1

Oh, and Rutgers please. Tentatively.

PS, my wife is now 11 weeks in for attempt #2 at a son, so until August, this is the best availability I am ever going to have

Congrats Kush!!

Does anyone know where the official star rankings are? I think I'm using a custom roster I picked up off of Firesloth really early in the season and they have Oregon State at 4 stars. That can't be right because they're bad.

Either way I might go with BYU because they run the read option and I find them interesting.

OP updated with list of names. I've put together a list of 1,2,3* teams in a Google Doc, which is probably the one you already have DS. BYU is a 4* team, while Oregon St. is a 3* team.

I think that's sort of the plan. Everyone's pretty swamped. I wouldn't mind it if we had two humans in the same conference, but different divisions. Aim for maybe one human game a season outside of the conference championships? Is that too much, too little?

I will take Arizona

I am in. I apologize for the dropping off the forum. In the process of throwing together a wedding. I will let you know what team I want in a later post.

Bummer. Oregon State it is, then.

Congrats to you too snipez!

I would like to swap to Texas Tech please

I would like to take Kent State. With the request to join the big 10. I believe there are 7 teams in the MAC East anyway so you should be able to move me without switching. If you have to I recommend Indiana and I switch.

Jayhawker – Are you in? If so, which team and what conference?

I'd like to put this in tonight or tomorrow to get us going.

After years of Kansas, I'm going to cheese out with Baylor.

Kush / Rutgers – Any interest in moving to the Big 10 a season early? or the ACC?

Also, do you Big 12'ers want me to fill out the conference to get a conference championship game? I'd add Louisville and ...? Tulsa?

That's cool.

Oh right, you can shift teams around. That makes me want to take NIU and have them stuck in some crazy conference. Mostly because I want to play a season with their QB and that offense. Man I wish BYU was 3 stars.

You want NIU in the ACC or AAC?

I'm gonna' assume Kush wants to be in the Big 10 unless I hear otherwise.

Whatever lines up best in terms of conference ties to bowls, etc. I appreciate you thinking that through.

you can arrange it sloth so we are on both sides of the big 10 and can meet for the title. plus playing occasionally

I will take UCLA

If UCLA can't be moved to another Conference I will take Ole Miss.

Okay, I sent out invites, but I also screwed something up. SnipeZ, I had a brain fart and moved Maryland into the Big 10 rather than Kent St. To make matters worse, I moved Indiana to the ACC (I was toying with the idea of playing them myself), which already has two teams (UCLA, NCState).

So, any other teams that interest you SnipeZ, or should I redo this tonight? Time was running late or I would already have redone the league.

My preference, I think, is just to redo this tonight and send out new invites then. It might be hard for SnipeZ to find a conference that has good teams but doesn't already have two user teams. Alternatively, SnipeZ could pick Illinois, Minnesota, or someone else in the Big 10.

Dear Fire,

I can go ahead a make it when I get home with the proper corrections. Right now to my knowledge it will be Me and Kush in the Big 10. Are there any other changes besides UCLA to the ACC? Which kind of makes my brain hurt thinking about a West Coast team being in it lol.

That's fine. Changes are in OP except:
1) Putting Louisville, Tulsa in Big 12 to give them a conference championship game;
2) Making sure TTU and Baylor are in separate divisions;
2) Changing bowl tie-ins so Big 12 plays ACC in BCS game (Pac 12 already played Big 10);
3) Moving BYU into PAC 12 to replace UCLA;
4) Adjusting sliders, but that's optional. Make recruiting at AA level or so. Change user-v-user difficulty to Heisman?

Biggest thing is to make sure we have only one user per division, and everyone gets a conference championship.

Another option to what's above is to give DSGamer NIU in the ACC and keep UCLA in PAC12. In that case, swap Arizona or UCLA to North division. Make sure NIU is opposite NC State in ACC.

What say you, DS, wanna play in the ACC with NIU or stay with Oregon St.?

Which kind of makes my brain hurt thinking about a West Coast team being in it lol.

Well, I wouldn't dismiss that, at this point. I mean, Big 12 including West Virginia and Big10 including MD already has teams traveling 1200 miles. That's fine if you're a football team, but what about the women's track teams? Think they pay charter planes for all of the travel or use buses?

I'll take NIU in the ACC and keep the Pac 12 intact.

So, that means the changes are:

1) Moving NIU to ACC in different division than NC State.
2) Moving Kent St., Rutgers to Big 10 in different divisions.
3) Moving Louisville, Tulsa in Big 12 to give them a conference championship game.
4) Making sure Texas Tech and Baylor are in separate divisions.
5) Changing bowl tie-ins so Big 12 plays ACC in BCS game (Pac 12 already played Big 10).
6) Adjusting sliders, but that's optional. Make recruiting at AA level or so. Change user-v-user difficulty to Heisman?
7) Send invites!

During preseason:
8) Look at custom schedules. Should we schedule inter-conference user games in the first few weeks or just keep things as they are?
9) Make sure that Leroy plays all of the preseason top 5 as his out-of-conference games.

Rutgers accepts their early invitation to the Big 10.

F***, now the Big East is suing me. WTF?!?

It's okay. They sue everyone. There are dedicated lawyers that can help.

Do you guys want to play a user in your out of conference or no? My personal opinion has always been to save those to the end for a conference title or a bowl game since they would be easier to wait on at the end of the year while we keep going smoothly every 3 days as sloth suggested. I will make sure that everyone has a conference title and will move people around as best I can to make sure that everything stay balanced and true to geography as best I can.
