Divinity: Original Sin Catch-All

Pages

Since it comes out the 30th I thought I'd make a Catch-All. Anyone else pick it up? Or plan too? Seems super cool so far and I've heard nothing but good buzz about it.

Here is the website with a bunch of info on the game.

Here's the most filled out wiki I've found: http://divinity.gamepedia.com/Divini...

And here are the crafting And skills/spells lists

It's been sitting waiting to be played in my Steam account for months now, but I've resisted so far so that I can play it when it's fully released.

However I dabbled a bit with the opening tutorial dungeon and can safely say that I'm REALLY looking forward to this one.

Can you play local coop on PC?

No, but you could have another player make dialogue choices for character two and since it's turn based you could kinda play the combat hot-seat stye.

I've got it on my wishlist but I'll have to wait until it goes on a deep discount further down the line before I pick it up. I really had no interest in the Divinity series until I played 2, and while I know the gameplay on Original Sin is completely different I'll be interested to see where they go with the story.

Remember there will be a custom campaign editor for it as well - so you're also grabbing a lot of potential for user-made content down the road.

This looks good. I played this at a friend's place. The character movement was sort of slow compared to D3. Has that change at all?

I bought it. I swear I watched a video where the developers were both sitting in front of one tv playing coop with controllers. Yet controllers and one machine coop both don't seem to be supported. Oh well the game looks awesome anyways.

I nabbed it just now on the steam sale. Watching videos and reading up really makes it look like the next great PC RPG.

I've been loosely watching it. The Divinity series is one of my favourites purely because they span many genres. I had no idea that this was turn-based, though. Really excited for it.

I backed this ages ago, so I should have digital copy once it comes out! I had thought that two people locally could each control one of the characters, is that not the case? I was looking forward to this one as a couples game...

Maybe you were thinking of this game?

I get them mixed up with eachother all the time as well.

I ended up buying the collectors edition bundle on sale and getting a free gift copy. I played with my wife this weekend and the game seems like a really cool multiplayer experience. I do wish they had a better way of letting you drop in and out of multi-player games but that small gripe aside the game was awesome for the hour or so I played.

5 days!

I have to wait two weeks after release to play it and it's kind of killing me.

I haven't been this excited about a game in a long time. The thought of playing it (though I've only seen a few videos, and read a few posts from the team) fills me with the same kind of video gaming contentment I get from Planescape: Torment.

Hm. I think I'll spend these next few weeks tempering my expectations...

I've been trying not to play the beta so I can go in fresh but have messed around a bunch with the character creator.

Man, I don't know what I want to roll! And having two characters makes the decision even harder. Going through and checking out all the skills, stats and abilities and man, I can't wait to dive in. Everything seems to have a so much depth.

Whoa, what? I thought the Sacred team was disbanded.

I've got two copies of D:OS, really looking forward to playing through it and mixing in some co-op with my kids. (Yay, family sharing!)

I backed it and am pretty excited for the release. The co-op options seem really cool.

It only took about a week but I finally fixed that typo! Give me another week or two and I'm sure I'll notice the other ones.

I'm eager to jump in as well. I guess, with the release proper in a few days, it doesn't make much sense to start the beta right now...

Hmm, I don't get this comment. What does family sharing have to do with playing co-op?

The game only supports two player co-op, at least in the main game. So with Family Sharing and two copies we're set for any combination of gaming between my two sons and myself.

Oh, so one of your sons will use a shared copy?

will save games transfer over to the shipping version? I hesitate to put too much time in for this reason.

They will not no.

Big update this morning, including the Beta version of the aforementioned toolkit.

I saw that but since it comes out in three days I still think I'll just wait for the full game.

The oil barrel flame domino effect was udderly fantastic!

I thought this was more like Baldur's Gate where there was real time combat with pause for things like casting big spells, healing and drinking pots?

If not, why is there still no BG/IWD successor? (spiritual or otherwise?)

(and for that matter why no Dawn of War 3 or Dawn of War 2 set in the fantasy universe?)

There is Pillars of Eternity and that seems to be the Baldur's Gate successor you're looking for. This seems more like a high fantasy Fallout 2.
