I can't count the reasons I should stay, One by one they all just fade away. Community S6! #andamovie

The fake TV adverts during the "sitcom" were great! I instinctively ignored them, like I usually do, until I remembered what I was watching.

I just saw the premiere and hated it. f*cking, hated it, so much so it made me feel depressed, and I needed to cleanse my palette with two eps of Modern Family.

This is mostly how I felt. A couple good jokes but it all just felt off.

I ended up fast forwarding through quite a bit of it out of sheer boredom. Not a great sign for my enjoyment of this season.

So you were disappointed because you expected greatness and received mere competence, and consoled yourself by watching a show where mere competence was all that could be expected in the first place?

Community at its peak was way better than Modern Family but Modern Family is still great and better than that premiere.

I think the laugh tracked sections of the episode was really terrible and overdone, and soured the episode overall. I get what they were trying to do but purposefully being unfunny isn't funny, it's just blah. I think if you took the episode and removed those parts, you'd get a pretty competent Community episode. I'm hopeful for the rest of the season.

Yeah, even though I get what they were going for, every time that laugh track came on I cringed.

I didn't even expect greatness, I hoped for...goodness...even okayness...and got something that made me just feel almost uncomfortable.

Abed's Inception felt glaringly false this time around, for a guy who has impeccable taste in television his internal sitcom was terrible. There is no way Abed could lose himself in such a mediocre fantasy.

I think you're forgetting his encyclopedic knowledge of "Who's The Boss?"

That show was on par with such classics as Perfect Strangers and Charles In Charge if memory serves me right.

I stand by my previous statement.

Don't you knock Perfect Strangers.

They pushed too hard and missed the mark on the laugh track. Still, I liked the episode.

To me it felt like a fan fiction version of Community.

To me, It was fine. There have been plenty of episodes at this same level. If the remaining episodes are only at this level of polish / comedy and below I'll be a little miffed, but for one episode this worked.

RRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrright. Well, on the bright side, picking quotes for this thread looks like it will be a lot easier. Mostly Troy, it seems, 'cause Donald Glover is hilarious no matter what he says. With a Britta line or two thrown in.

That was a weird Halloween/Valentine combo.

I laughed.

A Halloween episode in February. How very October 19th of them. I enjoyed it.

edit* Calvin and Hobbes. I just got that.

That episode worked for me. More of the old Community feel, thanks to it being written by Megan Ganz, who is a holdover from the Dan Harmon days. I should say *was* a holdover, as she has since joined the Modern Family writing staff.

Regardless, I found last night's episode much more entertaining than the first, even if the ratings were off by 43%.

It was a solid Season-1'er. And it pays off the right emotional beats for Pierce and Jeff. Not bad.

I just saw an episode of Adventure Time with Donald Glover doing one of the voices.

Lesson: Inspector Spacetime was funny enough for brief jokes...as a whole ep, not so much.

And I don't much care for Annie's regression.

Annie seemed to go back and forth a few times over the last few seasons. As long as it doesn't persist I won't mind.

For some reason I thought Pierce lying down at the end was pretty funny.

Yeah that cracked me up.

The tag was great too.

Chevy and the blonde with a tennis racket made me smile.

Mostly enjoyed tonight.

Call me crazy but I really enjoyed that episode. I completely forgot I was watching "Season 4" Community, something I did not expect after hearing some of the early, negative buzz for this episode. Just goes to show a prevailing theme on television reviews: they don't mean diddly.

Britta acrobatics, that girl got game. And donuts.

Yeah, I liked it a lot too. The Britta scene went from being fan service to legitimately funny, and while parts of it grated at times (including a bit of the delusional Annie) over all I really enjoyed it and it got some laugh out loud moments from me.

Especially Abed whining.

"Now I must sleep with my grandmother or else I'll cease to exist."

Deliberate reference to one of the best Futurama episodes ever?

I still haven't watched the new episode. I can't wait now!

"If I can Winger you for a moment..." Fantastic.

My favorite part of episode 3 was when Abed and Jeff see Pierce and Abed says "Whah!" and Jeff says "No!" at the same time. Perfect. Other than that and the Winger you thing, it was a fun but just okay episode.

Definitely the best episode out of these three.
