I can't count the reasons I should stay, One by one they all just fade away. Community S6! #andamovie

Its back and I want to talk about it.

Jeff and Brita's fauxmance was fantastic. But what stole the show for me was Annie punching Jeff. Fabulous.

That was a serious punch too!

Abed's burn on Jeff was pretty epic.

I loved the Cheangol and Changollum scene at the end.

"so that's why OldWhiteMan is always thinking the same thing I am!"

"I respect you."
"And that's why you fail."

"Is there any room in this pocket for some spare Chang?"

That's funny, because I thought that scene felt all kinds of wrong for some reason.

Man I love Community.

"I'll attack you with this, and you defend yourself with your respect."

It's amazing how adeptly they wrote themselves out of the cliched love triangle. Now they'll still have the subtext to draw from but none of the weight. Community just may be the best comedy on television right now.

It was more of a... love square? Love trapezoid.

Chang can do no wrong in my book. I found it hilarious. And foreboding. Forelarious? Hiboding?

I could totally see Abed doing something like that, since that's an established part of his character. Chang doing it just felt out of place to me.

If this season fails it will be because of Chang. He is the shows weak link. He was fine as a small support but anything more serious will be terrible.

It's too early to say, but I agree with you-- he was great as the occasional outsider, but more screen time could really be dangerous if not handled properly.

I'd agree with that too. Change is funny, but only in smaller doses.

The premiere was great. And my S1 DVD came with a Kickpuncher comic. My life is now complete.

I know that it probably makes economic sense NOT to, but I was really bummed that they didn't bother releasing COMMUNITY on blu-ray. I skipped the set for that very reason.

I know there are many that feel this way, and obviously how one chooses to spend their skrill is increasingly becoming the only true freedom we have, but I'm always confused by this train of thought. My own thinking is that tv shows, in general, aren't loaded with the rich vistas, so to me, Blu-Ray isn't justified. Share your own?

There's no magical mystery-- It was shot in hi-def and AIRED in hi-def. Why do I want to buy a standard def video version? Like I said, if they feel there isn't enough money involved in a smaller show like COMMUNITY to make it worthwhile I understand, but I would like to have the option (I bought the last two seasons of THE OFFICE on blu-ray).

HD just plain looks better on an HD TV. Like Matt says, no great mystery.

I don't watch Community and I hope this isn't too much of a digression, but my wife just gave me the Childish Gambino (Donald Glover, the actor who plays Troy Barnes) album CULDESAC. It is very clever. If you have any tolerance for hip-hop, I would recommend it.

Interesting that you posted that in a thread about a show you don't watch.

I loved the opening montage of waking up for the first day of school, especially Pierce's bedroom.

Yes! Cut to the core.

At this point, Abed is kind of invincible. And really, as the strongest character in the group (IMHO) you don't really want him knocked down a peg or two unless he come upon this realization himself.

Oh, that and the blowgun scene had me rolling. I would love it if Betty White could regularly appear in that role this season. Personally, I love seeing more Chang, he cracks me up.

Yes, I understand perfectly that HD looks better, it's just that visual fidelity doesn't usually factor into my enjoyment of TV. Same with comedy movies on Blu-Ray. Whatever, it's just another factor of my alienation from the modern world. TV has structure, and rules, and likable leading men...We have HD.

I also like spare Chang around. More El Tigre is always welcome. I'd love to see his brother, Rabbi Chang, return as well.

The Great Sepinwall has been running interviews with sundry actors and behind-the-scenes sorts all summer, but he's been cryptic about needing running the last one, with Gillian Jacobs, after the next episode. Team Britta, I say! Also, Bring Back Conan.

Heh, it looks like more roles for the supporting characters Star Burns and Senor Chang

No complaints here

You guys DO realize that sometimes characters are awesome because they have limited screen time? A little goes a long way?

Does TV, especially comedy TV, *need* HD? Of course not. Is COMMUNITY funnier in HD? No, but it looks better. Why did I bother to buy a 50" HDTV if not to watch content in HD?

You lost me with that line.

I dunno, I guess I just envision mine as a multi-purpose tool, and my unique blend of mental illnesses is my stumbling block. You can likely blame me and others for saying "Eh, DVD is fine" for the lack of Blu-Ray, but only if I can take credit if strong DVD sales are a renewal justification.

Liarpants, I never had you.

On the commentaries they mention trying Chang in situations like the movie-riff scenes because it was getting wearying to write his teacher monologues. I wouldn't expect Chang to be 100% the same creature he was.

I quit doing blow, not being rad.

Enjoyed last night's episode quite a lot.

Drew Carey really looks sort of demented without the extra weight.

Yeah, skinny Drew reminds me of someone but I can't for the life of me place it.
