I didn't see anything obviously spoilery (One picture with two characters together that we have yet to see interact, but nothing like someone with a sword through their chest). Mostly there will be some, "who the hell is that?"

edit: I appreciate the concern for spoilers. For those of you who might be on the fence about not wanting to be spoiled by the pictures, I wouldn't be overly concerned. If you hate anything resembling a spoiler, you'd be best to avoid.

Like you say in your first sentence though, there's an interaction there that I would definitely label as a spoiler for those viewing the show first.

Cool pictures. I'm always fond of the ones that show King's Landing, because my wife and I frequently vacation where that's filmed. Unfortunately those were all close-ups, so not much new information about *where* they are.

Having read the books. Damn, so looking forward. sh*t is going to hit the fan

New teaser trailer

Is it March 31st already? Please?

Full trailer coming Feb 24th.

Is it February 24th yet? Please?

I approve of that poster frame.

Having read the books, seeing all those faces again...so much fun ahead!

I am biding my time to the season 3 premiere with the audio books and the first two seasons of the show.

If you have not heard A Song of Ice and Fire as read by Roy Dotrice, you are missing out. It is my favorite way to experience the story. It is a masterful performance.

I read the first two chapters twice without getting into it. I picked up the audio book, and was instantly hooked. It really is a great performance. Maybe I'll give it a re-listen.

I'm not sure if this is the right thread to ask, but Game of Thrones Blu Ray is on sale for $39 at Target this week. I have read the books and want to watch the show but I'm patient. Anyone have a suggested/expected price-point for me?

Well, it's only gonna get cheaper the longer you wait. Really depends on you. HBO usually releases their seasons right before the next one, so you could get season 1, then 2 and then watch season 3 all in the span of a month+.

I just haven't seen any continued price drops, the next cheapest I've seen was probably $48 since August.

That looks like a good price. Amazon, which is usually a pretty good benchmark, has never dropped much below that point.

If you don't need to actually own a physical copy, it's slightly cheaper in HD streaming-only form from Amazon. I actually tend to find that more practical than Blu-Ray since I can take my 'lil Roku with me when I travel, whereas my PS3 is definitely not going anywhere.

(Aside: boy is it ridiculous that you can't just buy these things streaming right after they air. I'd probably pay $10/pop if they asked for it, rather than resorting to... er... the contortions I have to go through presently.)

Yeah but once HBO or Showtime takes that step of cutting out the cable company subscriptions, things would get crazy.

I meant over a longer time period. The series is super popular right now so if $39 is the best you've seen then jump on it.

PSA: the season two combo pre-order (Blu-Ray, DVD, and digital) has dropped to $35 at Amazon. Release date is Feb 19 and MSRP is $50.

(Bonus: if you get to Amazon from a link here, you can help Certis buy a new yacht).

Holy frak, the combo's dropped again, to $30 and the DVD-only set to $25.

Yoink.

I REALLY can't wait for season 3 to start. I was listening to a podcast bookclub of A Clash of Kings just to satiate myself, but it wasn't working. Time to re-record season 2 on the good ol' TiVo and get hyped for March!

Just fair warning to anyone avoiding spoilers who gets curious about that other thread...

Seriously, stay away for your own good. Us spoiled types still follow this thread too for our own amusement and to share in the discussion, but we keep the spoilers to the other thread.

And BOY does the other thread revel in its spoiler-ridden nature.

FTFY.

Well played, ser!

Yep, I'm so scared about spoilers, totally not clicking on Tanglebones "spoiler" sections, in fear of said spoilers. But thanks for the heads up, and glad I could find the right place quickly and easily! And of course, spoiler free!

My little birds may have been misinformed. Apparently it's coming Feb 22nd to Jimmy Kimmel.

Oh yay, just got my Season 2 BluRay in the mail. Time for commentary marathon weekend.

Mine's coming Monday. So much time will be lost. I didn't look, but I hope they didn't skip any episodes this season.
