Right? You're so wise...

It´s been over 20 days since that happened. Your allotted time for making fun has expired.

It'll be back.

There's a statute of limitations for mocking your drunken shenanigans? I call poppycock, sir.

Finished the 2nd book and 2nd season yesterday. Read till I had a headache on Saturday so I started watching the show since I was almost done with the book. Just wanted to say, "Hello. I'll be joining this thread now." Or one of the others. I think there's something like 10 of them.

I believe there are only 2 active threads at the moment. This one and the spoiler-ridden catch-all of doom.

In any case, welcome to the club!

And seriously, the spoiler-ridden catch-all of doom is NOT mislabelled. You should probably stay out until you've caught up on the books.

Thought I'd cross post this here for the Game of Thrones fans. The Ice and Fire Convention is going to be held at Ravenwood Castle April 26th-28th, 2013.

The organizers have allowed us to publicize the event to those we think might be interested, but MonoCheli and I have no control over registration or tickets. If you are at all interested, you'll want to hit up their website at http://iceandfireconvention.webs.com/

Took my time but caught up with season 2. Looks like season 3 will be starting in March.

I saw this and squeed out loud:

Oh man, so little time to finish book three and start on the fourth. The Vita has just eaten up all my portable time.

If you're just trying to keep pace with the TV show this next season is only the first half of book three (more or less).

Oh, I had the feeling they were going to be loose with the book's structure, like Seasons 1 and 2.

They probably still will (ie, the "more or less").

To be on the safe side, you'd better read them all.

Well, that was the "more or less" part. Because of how the books are written you sometimes don't find about certain events until long after they happened. I think the show might pull those things out of later books and put them in the show at the time they're happening. So, they may pull in certain things from the latter half of the book or maybe even book four, but the meat of the season will just be the first half.

If they follow the same formula from last season we should get a teaser trailer or two this month and then get our first full length trailer in January.

The first beer, Iron Throne Blonde Ale, will debut mid- to late-March to coincide with the show’s March 31 premiere. The second beer will launch next fall, followed by two more beers in subsequent seasons.

I hope somewhere local ends up carrying this as I really want to try it. I wouldn't be surprised if they do a similar deal with a winery somewhere. I would love to sit down and watch the show drinking some Winterfell Mead or Arbor Gold or Dornish Red or Lys White.

Last season I actually did buy some Mead that came with a packet of mulling spices. I mulled it before the show and poured us both some glasses and she thought it was the most disgusting thing she'd ever tasted. So I got to drink hers as well.

I'm working on carrying it at the castle. In the midst of exchanging emails with the brewery in fact. I'm sure one or two will end up in my private, personal collection. Should that happen, and if you can't find it locally, let me know and I'll be glad to send you one.

Oooh, that reminds me: for Christmas Eve my sister in-law created a thing from The Feast of Ice and Fire. Wish I had pictures of it - bacon and beef pie was probably the star of the show, but the seafood chowder in trenchers was a close second.

Sadly, no capons.

Shouldn't the blonde ale be named after the Lannisters?

NEEPS!

Looks like a teaser for a really bad ARG.

The thumbnail for that youtube clip looks like a really surprised raven with it's head tilted to the side.

"Bwark?"

Joffrey gets slapped for double posts

If there's any collectors of series related stuff, Valyrian Steel has announced pre-orders of stuff licensed from HBO. Most of their stuff is licensed base on the books, but the top 3 items are HBO licensed based on props from the show. The new items are Robb's sword, Bran's assassin's knife, and the Hound's helmet.

Robb's sword is all right, but it's pretty plain. The knife and helmet look pretty good, though I was surprised the helmet wasn't made of metal. I probably shouldn't have (don't tell the wife), but I pre-ordered the knife because I really like the look of the damascus steel.

I had been saving for the book version of Longclaw for quite a while, but they ended up selling out of it last June. Was really bummed when I went to order it for Christmas and found that out. But they say they're all ready working on a TV show version of that and Ice so I can't wait to see how those look.

I love that warhammer.
