Bloodborne Catch-all

That area is where I quit the last time, and it was a son of gun getting back into the game with that in my way a couple months ago. It's a really obnoxious bit. If you're seriously pondering quitting, you should try getting advice or watching a video for that part, because it is a uniquely annoying part of the game, and you get back to "regular" gameplay before terribly long.

I hit a wall at that exact same staircase my first time through the game. I'd suggest spending some time in Cainhurst Castle and Nightmare Frontier instead (just run to the entrance of Cainhurst; the bug people outside are brutal). The regenerating enemies make the Unseen Village tough for awhile.

Orphan of Kos is dead, and so is Laurence, The First Vicar.

What an amazing game and add-on. I'm leaving my character where she is to come back later and work through the chalices. I can't stop playing this one for long.

Nice, CWH! I still need to hit the DLC. A combination of relearning the buttons after Nioh and simple distance from the game has made restarting seem like a problem for me.

Gorgeous.

Bloodborne keeps calling to me. I may need to start a new game.

Yeah, I've got absolutely no place to put one but damn that is a nice looking figure. Coincidentally I was just thinking today that I should get back to that DLC!

I had the same thought today about getting back to it, but since I'm stuck on Ludwig I was last seen trying to power up via chalice dungeons, which are fun but not exactly the part of the game that lures me in.

On Waypoint Radio this week, someone wrote in asking if you had to get a video game tattoo, what would it be. For me it would probably be one of the Caryll Runes. Not quite sure which one.

Well, the hunter rune, of course!

That seems the obvious choice, but there are others, such as Guidance:

A Caryll rune discovered by the old hunter Ludwig along with the Holy Moonlight Sword.
Boosts amount of life recovered by rallying.

When Ludwig closed his eyes, he saw darkness, or perhaps nothingness,
and that is where he discovered the tiny beings of light.
Ludwig was certain that these playful dancing sprites offered "guidance"
They could empty Ludwig of his fears at least in the midst of a hunt.

Tattoo? No way, I want that on my tombstone.

I do like the moon rune too.

And the concept behind the eye rune is cool, but the rune itself is just a star.

The Great Ones that inhabit the nightmare are sympathetic in spirit, and often answer when called upon.

That is awesome.

Forced tattoo? Yikes.

Maybe a rune with "You're in the know, right?" underneath.

Of course, I'd get the tattoo artist who puts the wrong "your" and "write."

I don't like this game. Also, I'm terrified of tattoos, in case that isn't obvious.

What don't you like about Bloodborne?

Jack o'Lanterns in Yharnam

Oh, I meant I didn't like the "let's be forced to get tattoos" game.

How am I the first person to like this post?

Um, is that for real? That game is so goofy, I honestly can't tell if that's photoshopped or not.

Lol, no. I don't believe there's a cuphead boss that pays homage to Bloodborne.

One can dream. Maybe the dlc.

This post was from September 28. This week I've tried to get back into BB a bit. I think I'm on the fourth chalice dungeon. On the third layer, I encountered a bit of a roadblock in the form of Rom, but I followed a strategy and beat him on about my 5th try.

I subsequently decided that this road of leveling up through chalice dungeons is just too long. They're fun, but they are so different in terms of atmosphere and lore from the concept of the Hunt. So today I loaded into the start of the DLC and replayed all through it, finding one cave that I had missed.

Buoyed by my success at learning Rom's patterns, I prepared to give Ludwig a shot, with the assistance of my compatriots in The League. And I got him on the first shot! Moonlight Holy Blade get!

Now I can continue in that aspect of the Souls game that is dearest to me - exploring new areas. Hopefully I shall stick with it until I finish The Old Hunters and then the final bit of Bloodborne!

Old Hunters is fantastic! I hope you enjoy!

I like Chalices but they are just podcast time for me. They’re my “Diablo”.

Yup. Old hunters is amazing. Lady Maria of the astral clocktower is my favourite boss fight.

I really thought she would end up being my "Ornstein and Smough" boss for Bloodborne (i.e. a boss I wouldn't be able to get past), but after about a hundred attempts, I finally did it. I was elated. And her weapon quickly became my favorite in the game.
Didn't help I was facing her for the first time in NG+...
